No problem. I was just thinking the other day about the fact that you originally had a co-GM helping you, and I think he had to pull out a good while ago. I know a game like this is a lot of work. If there's anything we can do to help, say so.

orry all. I lost access to the internet at my residence (and I have no cell signal where I stay either) so have been unable to get any posts in as the job I've been working is physical labor. I'm hoping to have one of the above problems fixed sometime by August, visiting my folks atm so managed to get some time and access to post an update. Sorry for the sudden disappearance.

Thank you for updating us, Mia, and I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you've been having.
I hope you'll be able to get things sorted out so you can fully rejoin us.| Kalig |
I'm wondering if Dorick's player has COVID and hasn't been able to post. Normally I'd wait for him to make some kind of cavalierly challenge but he may need ot be botted.

In a Starfinder game we play in together, he posted that it wasn't COVID but rather a sinus infection. While it's a shame that he's sick, it is a relief that it isn't something worse.
I will bot him for now. When he's feeling better up to it, he can take the reins back on Dorick.

LOL. I just realized I never adjusted Kalig's gear accounting for the fact that she left Matilda behind. I don't suppose she could have asked Dorick to carry her crowbar, canvas, blanket, mess kit, and healer's kit so she's not overburdened?

I think his cavalier code would demand that he help Kalig carry her gear, hehehe.

As Mia's player knows, I started a recruitment drive for my Ustalavic campaign, and I plan to announce the selections in a couple hours.
How would you feel if I reached out to some of the players not selected about joining this game instead?
If you think it would be better to solicit character submissions more specifically tailored to our campaign and needs, I will understand.

Two pieces of good news.
First, we will soon be joined by Dargys the half-orc evoker.
Secondly, having uncovered the hidden Gray Gardener in their midst, kept the calm in Haven whilst preparing for the approaching mob, and now having discovered the Kakkari ruins hidden in the Sogg, the party has proven its mettle to earn a reward.
Welcome to Level 5!

@DM Vayelan
I'm going to be taking the animal ally feat this level, I was wondering if you would allow it to extend and cover the animal companion options the ranger can choose from? I'm not sure exactly which I would pick atm, but more options never hurt.
Level up-
HP: +7
Saves: No change
Spells: Gain 3rd level spells, (1)+bonus spells (total of 2 3rd level spells/day)
Feats: Animal Ally
Skills: +6 (4base, 1 int, 1 human,
Handle Animal: +1
Know. Nature: +1
Perception: +1
Spellcraft: +1
Know. Arcana: +1 (so I can roll above 10)
Craft Alchemy: +1
Background:
Profession (herbalist) +1
Know. Geography +1
I will also be moving Mia's sheet over to mythweavers (will provide link in profile) save for potions/herbal concoctions. I will keep those on her profile.

I am willing to allow this because I feel it accurately represents the breadth of unfamiliar animals that Mia might discover along the Castrovin coast.

Also, another question I do not remember if we discussed, can Mia create concoctions of communal spells?
I assume no, but want clarification on your view.
The following morning, Mia will take time to make the following concoctions- (assuming she can find the needed natural materials from the land/her stores)
Greater Longstrider x1 (CL5)
Greater Magic Fang x1 (CL5) (might change)
Remove Disease x1 (CL5)
Burrow x1 (CL5)
Potion of Daylight (CL5) (I think this is legal?)
Unless anyone has a different request?
Also, do you want to have the interaction of Mia finding her new companion before or after the ruins? (or during?) I'm fine either way, as until level 7 my new little buddy is stay OUT of combat.

Welcome to Dargys! Yay, a fellow half-orc. I'm Kalig, the woefully unoptimized urban druid. :)
Mia, a note on in-game stuff: Kalig has Weather (seasons) as a Domain, so she ALWAYS has goodberry prepped. Furthermore, I cast domain spells spontaneously instead of Summon Nature's Ally, so I can actually cast goodberry up to five times a day if I wanted (even more if I used higher level spell slots). I can't ever not have the spell, so you can prep something else if you like. Now, more healing doesn't hurt, I know. Just taking note. Given you support the party with your potions, this is one of the few preparations I can have covered.
Will post level up soon. 5 is not exciting for a druid, save we get 3rd level spells (woot!), so shouldn't take too long.
Mia Ravenlock
The only reason I cast goodberry was because it seemed the best use of an unused open spell slot, that likely would not be used that day. I normally don't have it prepared.
I try not to step on toes, but with two of the same classes that can be difficult.
Kalig
Understood, Mia.
Kalig is leveled.
After some consideration, I decided to take Keen Scent as my feat (which is available to half-orcs with 13+ Wis). Seems like the Scent ability could come in handy. I was tempted by a number of options that would boost AC, especially as this game is pretty low-magic when it comes to availability of magic items, so I might rethink on that overnight, but I think I'm good.
Added skill points to Diplomacy, Handle Animal*, Heal, Knowledge History*, Knowledge Nature, Perception, and Survival (*=background skill).
Francoix Delacouis
HP +7
Sneak attack - 3d6
9 skill points
Acrobatics, Bluff, Diplomacy,Perception, sense motive,Sleight of hand,Stealth, Use magic Device, Profession Brewer.
Background skills +1 each of course
Feat: Dodge
Rogue talent points 5/6

I am attending to some sudden family stuff for the next few days--non-crisis but nonetheless urgent. I may be slow; please bot me if needed.
Mia Ravenlock
yet another new companion join the party. Although, this one starts at medium size. And won't grow large until level 9, (never hitting Huge).
Also, I am going to give it the Wrecker archetype.

Having a bit of a debate on what my 2nd 3rd level spell should be, Any input?
I picked up Aqueous orb to hopefully combo with Kalig's call lightning, (Hoping the GM would allow the lightning to hit everyone absorbed/grappled by the sphere) maybe even upping the damage if only one target is in the orb?
And I'm debating between,
wind wall- incase of gases or a lot of undead archers.
Communal resist energy- I have plenty of potions of this spell, but that requires you to have one of each element, and spend a standard on it. (my preference) but, maybe not others.
Mad Monkeys- hilarious spell, potentially very effective.
call lightning- Don't want to step on toes, but it IS an effective spell.
Thorny entanglement- Control and damage, but effects friendlies as well.
Daylight- just in case
Kalig
FWIW one thing I was considering but didn't memorize was stone shape as that might come quite in handy in ancient stone ruins. If you prep the monkey spell, I might, if the GM allows, trade that one for the leshy swarm spell I had prepared instead.
You might also consider greater magic fang for the mokole mkembe.
I cast my domain spells spontaneously instead of Summon Nature's Ally BTW so I can cast call lightning up to three times if for some reason we needed a lot of lightning (if I didn't use my other prepared spells). That said, two running at once could do a lot of damage.

Since the party is still in the process of breaking camp, I will provide some leeway in spell preparation if you would like to make some substitutions.
Mia Ravenlock
I can make a potion of greater magic fang at my cl this morning, so no need to prep.
Mia Ravenlock
I'll take mad monkey spell. At least once, to see it in action. I think it has less utility than wind wall or daylight, but is a decent combat spell.
Also, DM, before I lock it in, would you be okay with Aqueous orb amplifying the call lightning spell? -Hoping the GM would allow the lightning to hit everyone absorbed/grappled by the sphere instead of the generic 5ft area.

Considering that there is an enemy in the second book of the Ironfang Invasion AP who uses that exact strategy, I will allow it.
