Aubrey, it only just occurred to me that warforged have Light Fortification, a watered-down version of the constructs' immunity to crits and sneak attacks in 3.5... which is now gone in Pathfinder. Do I need to remove that from Cole? I'm fine either way; I just didn't catch the change.

The Exchange

No. When you say "gone in Pathfinder" what do you mean?

EDIT: Oh, I see - constructs are now vulnerable to crits. Let me think about it.

HP 95/95 Temp 0 :: AC 24 CMD 24 :: Fort +10 Ref +5 Will +8 :: Conditions: none

No problem. I'm fine either way.

Halfling Hp 26/26 AC 22 (+5 Perc; +0 Init; Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3)

Bumer for warforged...

HP 95/95 Temp 0 :: AC 24 CMD 24 :: Fort +10 Ref +5 Will +8 :: Conditions: none

: shrugs :

It's a nice bennie to have, but one that doesn't quite fit anymore with the changes to Constructs in Pathfinder. Warforged still have some really nice perks (if some painful disadvantages to go with them), so I'm not sweating it if I lose Light Fortification.

N Warforged HP -10/23 Psion (Nomad) 3

Eh, I think it was a good change--constructs can have weak-points too, critical hits against them makes sense.

Halfling Hp 26/26 AC 22 (+5 Perc; +0 Init; Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3)

I never said that it didn't make sence.

I think i played once an heavy armor warforge....

Meanwhile, Will needs to level up.

Also, Portforged, at some stage could you write out a character sheet for this site as well as providing the link. The link can't be used at work and I found your character sheet hard to use - for example, I couldn't find your PP on it.

The Exchange

On the light fortification thing, my angle is making sure it doesn't make the warforged a poor race mechanically. In your view(s), do they still stack up as a decent race without it?

N Warforged HP -10/23 Psion (Nomad) 3

Power points on my linked character sheet are under "psionics", above "currency" and "languages".

I'll put it up directly on my profile, I'll need to do it manually, but I can do it.

As for fortification...I feel like warforged are still good without it. They still have a constitution bonus, immunity to a LOT of types of effects, and no fatigue.

HP 95/95 Temp 0 :: AC 24 CMD 24 :: Fort +10 Ref +5 Will +8 :: Conditions: none

I don't know that I'm savvy enough to give a solid answer. As Portforged said, they get a load of immunities, but also are less efficient/tricky to heal for standard healers (which can be offset by some party planning and coordination), are affected by a slew of new spells, and have the mixed blessing of Composite Plating (which is only 'meh' without taking an armored body feat. But to take an armored body feat — one of the only ways to have armor as a warforged — you have to burn a 1st level feat).

Like I said, too many non-traditional trades happening for me to confidently give an answer. The natural follow-on question (to me) is: "okay, what would be a fair trade if we decided that we wanted to remove Light Fortification?"

Again... not sure. I can see them getting a +2 bump to a physical score at creation (to either Strength or Dex in addition to Con), but I'm not sure if that's overdoing it or not.

Dunno yet cole let me sleep on that for a while ;)

On the light fortification thing, we'll leave it in. Warforged are a funny race with a series of advantages and trade-offs. While I don't think it'll necessarily make the race poorer than average if it is removed, it plays well to heir inherent toughness as war machines. The difference is likely to be marginal, depending on how often you are exposed to hits and potential crits, but it could be a fun little game-changer. Plus I prefer to give PCs stuff rather than take it away (though I hasten to add, that's not always a given).

HP 95/95 Temp 0 :: AC 24 CMD 24 :: Fort +10 Ref +5 Will +8 :: Conditions: none

Works for me. :)

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

I thought long and hard about taking a level in ranger. I had been toying with mixing a full BAB class into Rehil anyway. I was seduced by the rogue talent.

In retrospect, yet another stellar decision.

HP 95/95 Temp 0 :: AC 24 CMD 24 :: Fort +10 Ref +5 Will +8 :: Conditions: none

About as good as Cole trying to make a stretcher, apparently.

Brelish Human DM plot-hurrying turtle god fight Rogue 1 / Artificer 5 // Mythic Genius 1 ||HP: 52/52; AC 18; F:+3; R:+7; W:+4*; Init +3, Perception +13*

If Cole stays really still, we could use him as a stretcher...

N Warforged HP -10/23 Psion (Nomad) 3

Maybe Portforged could use autohypnosis to convince itself it is a stretcher...

:)

Heads up. I'm on the road today. Very little (to no) posting from me until this evening at the earliest.

Maybe you'll paint the ground. Have you looked at my combat rolls? Rehil will ruffle their hair a little bit. Oh wait ... they don't have hair to ruffle.

I'm expecting those dice to turn around at some point. Then we'll all bask in your unending string of 20's. :D

Just to let you know, I won't be very available from Friday evening until Monday morning as I will be away.

HP 95/95 Temp 0 :: AC 24 CMD 24 :: Fort +10 Ref +5 Will +8 :: Conditions: none

Good deal, Aubrey. Hope it's a leisure trip.

William, my goal was to try to do it non lethally (though given how dangerous he likely is, that could be really, really tricky), but your choice of words just struck me as funny.

Halfling Hp 26/26 AC 22 (+5 Perc; +0 Init; Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3)

:)

i just hope we don't get into combat or that is we do none of our opponents are killed so that we can show our good faith etc...

Bear in mind the -4 to hit when trying to inflict nonlethal damage.

HP 95/95 Temp 0 :: AC 24 CMD 24 :: Fort +10 Ref +5 Will +8 :: Conditions: none

Exactly my point. Survival may trump nonlethality, from Cole's perspective.

HP 95/95 Temp 0 :: AC 24 CMD 24 :: Fort +10 Ref +5 Will +8 :: Conditions: none

Sheesh, Rehil... this is getting ridiculous. Your rolls really are just snake-bit.

Rehil must've been very evil in a previous life.

HP 95/95 Temp 0 :: AC 24 CMD 24 :: Fort +10 Ref +5 Will +8 :: Conditions: none

Seriously.

Also, Aubrey, again my apologies for bolding spoken word. I really am trying to avoid doing so. Habits, man.

Nalverren, can't remember if I mentioned it to you or someone else, but we aren't playing traits in this game.

Also, your attack bonus on the short bow looks too low.

Brelish Human DM plot-hurrying turtle god fight Rogue 1 / Artificer 5 // Mythic Genius 1 ||HP: 52/52; AC 18; F:+3; R:+7; W:+4*; Init +3, Perception +13*

damn it all, i swear i took those off. you have said it to me before.

i'll recheck the bow.

EDIT: yeah i removed them but forgot to take that off my save bonus.

and yes the bow was off.

Actually, you still haven't. You still have the traits listed in your feats and traits and your UMD is working off your INT because of your Pragmatic Activator trait.
