I'm interested to see how this plays out when rubber meets road. Having ideals/beliefs makes things interesting, if we get into a situation where team members are withholding aid from their fellows in dire straits ... that gets dicey fast.

it's all good with me, whatever happens. If they come to blows, it will be interesting to watch (Nalverren has no real reason to jump in for either side, although Wultram's pragmatic nature is more to his liking)
posting this in all 28 of my games (although some of them are dead, i am pretty sure... and others are quite slow so my absence will not be missed overmuch):
There are two hurricanes heading for Hawaii, where I live. One is supposed to land on Friday after being downgraded to a tropical depression, the other is supposed to land Sunday with experts unsure as to how much it'll be downgraded after colliding with the mountains.
I'm sure everything will be fine, so no need to worry. People are freaking out for some reason, but I remain in a state of relative readiness.
I anticipate a loss of internet, at a minimum (they can barely keep it together under optimal conditions). Likely loss of power as well. A time without electricity could last anywhere from four days to four months (with some time around one to two weeks being more realistic).
I'll be on between now and then, but if i just disappear, check the news, hahaha.

Just to let everyone know I am, yet again, going on holiday - this time for a week - from Saturday 23rd August. Again, I am very unlikely to have internet access.
This is going to all my games:
In the next couple weeks, my life will be extremely hectic. My hope is to be able to log in once a day, but it is unlikely I will be able to engage in rapid exchanges throughout a day. And if I disappear for a couple days, it's probably due to busyness.
Guys, I'll be in England for work. I'm visiting NPL in Teddington and a few other places in the area. Getting in Sunday morning the 7th. I've got the following weekend free, but transportation might be difficult. I also have morning and early afternoon on the 18th. I'd be thrilled if I could meet some of you, but the boss is paying for the trip so work must come first. If we can work out a visit within those constraints, it would be great.

NPL as in "National Physical Laboratory"? I went for a job interview there once. Teddington is quite close (very close) to where I was brought up and went to school, Kingston-upon-Thames, so I know the area well.
I don't live in London anymore but I work in central London. If you get the chance, after work we can meet up. What are you here to do (or is it hush-hush)?
I'm coming over to witness some of the NPL metrology training programs. We're talking to them about presenting their programs in the US. From our side it's a great chance to gain additional expertise and crack open the training market. Hopefully we offer them greater exposure stateside and can save them money by reducing the need for their team to travel here or to Canada to present.

Hopefully we can work something out. If you are in Teddington, you can catch the train into Waterloo (takes about 30 minutes) and then you are in easy striking distance.
I received a more complete itinerary today. I'll be up near Coventry Tues night - Friday, returning to Teddington by train Friday night. Next week I should be free Mon-Wed, work ending about 6 pm on those days. Hopefully that's convenient for you.
Hmmm. Might be able to work something out up there if it's more convenient for you. We'll be getting in later on Tuesday and Tuesday night I'm actually in Meriden(?). Wed and Thursday in Coventry. Friday night on a train headed back to London-Teddington.
Unfortunately my cell phone doesn't understand the network here, so communication must pass through my laptop.

Meriden is practically on the outskirts of Birmingham, so that's quite a way. Are you flying in to Birmingham airport (as that's down the road from there)? Whereabouts in Coventry are you going to be?
My host at NPL lives in Coventry. Wednesday we bop about the country side, first to a company where they are in the midst of a training course, then to another where he will be pitching the course to a potential customer. Thursday we're also visiting during the day. Wednesday and Thursday night I am in the Brooklands Grange Hotel. My host has offered me dinner Wed and a bit of sight seeing Thursday evening after work, and I'd like to take him up on it, so a latish meeting would be most convenient for me either night. Friday night I have more freedom as long as I can make a train into London that will get me back to Teddington. ( I wish the phone was working. IT would be so much easier.)
my host dug up an old cell phone. I popped in a new sim card and voila! I have returned to the 21st century. Mon or Wed nights would be best for me, but I could swing Tues. 07763984257
Aubrey, I've been in the UK for a week unless Teddington and Coventry don't count? :-D I texted back. Could make Tues work, but I'm guessing I won't be able to hop a train from Teddington until 6:30 or 7 pm.

Decided to take this here as to no further clutter the game thread. Will see if I can manage actions for the others later unless someone else manages it in the meanwhile.

Thanks for the clarification. However, with a mixture of readied and delayed actions, it was a bit easier to handle by treating them the same. Anyone who is currently down as delaying can jump in when they feel it is appropriate.
I'm thinking about taking a level in Profession(canoeist) but here's my meta-game concern: if you're working strictly on average rolls for each canoe, then I'm only going to get 1/4 the full benefit of every point I sink into the skill. (To some extent this is mitigated at the first point by the +3 class skill bonus. Canoeing 1 skill point will raise the average by 1. It might still be worth it.)
What about canoes manned by 3 people? Going on average then a three man canoe could outpaddle a 4 man. What about a 12 man war canoe?

Thom:
Spoiler:
I think it depends. I see your point, but then again a three-man canoe could be faster than a four man or a twelve-man war canoe (and thanks for that by the way, I was just thinking in fours). Under certain cirumstances, you might total the scores and in others you might add them together. SInce you and the opposition are all in four-mans at the moment, the issue is moot.
HOWEVER...
Hopefully I'm not giving too much away by stating that this campaign might move on from canoes. So you might want to consider holding back on what might otherwise become a redundant skill for the rest of the campaign.
Well part of the charm of rogues is that you can waste some skill points. And I know, if the plan works we'll be out of the canoes when we hit the top of the Bright Hunter valley. Something to think about when we level up.
Taking a level of ranger: favored enemy humanoid(reptilian)
HP roll:1d10 ⇒ 9
Skills: prof (canoeist) ; Stealth, climb, survival, perception, and one to be named later or something like that. I messed up my skill count last level.
