OK, no probs, I was a little distracted during the week too. However, as a general rule, if you think you are going to experience temporary (or permanent) problems in posting, please drop a quick note in the discussion thread so we know not to linger.
Just to let you know, I generally won't DMPC a character, I'll ask another player to take their turn instead. I'll normally wait a day or two if there is a no show, and maybe post a reminder in case the player simply hasn't noticed it is their turn.

I've got to go back and count arrows. I think Rehil has used just about half of his.
Also, are the entangled L-men denied their dex bonus to AC, Aubrey? If so, I'll add sneak attack -- if Rehil ever hits.
I think we try to hold the hut. At least they're channeled through 6 points of access. Until we cut down their numbers, I think a general melee will end poorly for us.

Im more concerned with a certain massive draconic tortoise turning the (probably) wooden shack to sticks under our feet. I'd rather be on land when/if that happens.
But i'm fine either way... apparently warforged don't taste great to massive water predators (if that snake-thing is any indication).

Aubrey, everyone else..
Unfortunately life(moving into a new place, working long hours at the office) has intervened and I'm finding myself with not enough time to give this game the attention that it deserves.
I'll have to be doing some cutting back, so that means I'll be bowing out of the game with Grazzat.
I wish you all the best, Happy Holidays, I'll see you guys around.

Hi all!
I do love psionics as many of you know. That said, I am open to suggestions on party role and race. I love Eberron and I do like playing a race with strong Eberron flavor, and I also do like to play outlandish races.
I am about 100 posts behind in reading your campaign and will catch up this evening.

Welcome aboard, Tenro!
I like Eben's sole survivor idea.
Also, we have some NPC crewmembers on the boat. Tenro's character could be one of them. It looks like we're going to be stuck up this river without a paddle, so crew will be in the same boat as everyone else. Or not.

Reading your last bit of gameplay, i have a few ideas (for class, Race is up in the air and will be weighed heavily by the ideas of other PCs).
Lizardfolk is one readily apparent option, however i would like to avoid an intelligence penalty. The rules you have on the campaign page for lizardfolk appear to reflect the Cold Sun tribe. Poison Dusk are the only ones that do not have an intelligence penalty. However, if memory serves, they come with racial HD, which i imagine makes them off-limits (as well as less desirable to me any way)
I see you have lost what appears to have been your primary arcanist, who appeared to have been a bit combat-focused in terms of ability scores. To replace that, I would perhaps suggest a Cryptic. 3/4 BAB, up to 6th level powers. likely ranged combatant with support manifesting.
Looking at the way you all do combat, I would also like to throw out the idea of a Tactician. I would prefer this to cryptic, as i am already playing two cryptics here on the boards, and i have never played a tactician. this character would be an able combatant, but would shine in a support role. the reason behind suggesting this is that it would enhance teamwork and coordination in combat.
that said, i am open to ideas regarding both race and class.

I'll be honest, I'd prefer that we don't have any more psionics if we can avoid it. The reason is that I am planning on using the Mythic rules and they don't really mesh well with psionics (or, rather, psionics was completely disregarded when the Mythic rules were created). Now, it is possible some bright spark at a 3PP will come up with Mythic rules for psionicists, but they haven't yet. That means that, until they get that done, I'll have to jury-rig rules for Portforged as it is. Also, while Eberron "does" psionics, it's not that common and is fairly specific in application - kalashtar and the Inspired, plus a few corner cases.
Grazzat actually isn't really intended to be much of an arcane character either - the level of sorcerer was a dip before going off into ranger for several levels. And Portforged is really our primary "wizard-type" character - and doing very well, so far. As a sixth character you pretty much have freedom to fill the role you want.

With Tactician i would likely go with Marshal.
Well, on the Mythic front, here is a post I made awhile back for psionic mythic stuff in another game. It is limited in scope (mostly just for the Psion class and only went to tier 4 as that was the tier we were going to be). The game died off, so we never tested the rules out. It's not official, so take it, leave it, or modify it at will to suit your needs.
I will try to come up with a different character idea. As far as nonpsionic classes go, I tend to favor monk, ninja, or alchemist. I think all my characters of those classes were in games that died off.

How do you feel about characters tied intimately and politically to a nation? For instance, a member of the Royal Eyes of Aundair or The King's Wands of Breland? That sort of thing. Or a particularly heavily house-flavored individual?
Or would you say that such a thing would likely never come up (such as if we are going to be in Xendrik the whole time)

Cool, I'll check this out.
On the psionic front, I know you like psionics. If it cramps your style not having psionic, then obviously have psionic. I'm just pointing out the potential issues.

I would like that very much, but our discussion about it should maybe go to personal messages.

So the team so far is:
Cole - warforged heavy armor barbarian. Melee brute.
Wultram - human karnathi dread necromancer (sorcerer)
William - Thranish halfling nature oracle; mobile healer type and closest to a Face we have (Bluff +5; Diplo +8; sense motive +0)
Portforged - warforged Nomad Psion; caster/controller, i think
Rehil - Khorvairan elf rogue; Recon and combat opportunist
Based on all that, Aubrey is right, we have some flexibility in what kind of character you want to play. I'm of the opinion that we could probably make do with whatever you wanted to play. So first and foremost, just pick something that you're interested in.
in terms of what the group could use, here are my thoughts. Grazzat’s vacancy leaves us down one dedicated melee guy. Rehil is okay for this role in a limited capacity, but it’d be great if we could free him up to go find opportunity targets or fight from behind our line when possible.
Were missing a dedicated ranged combatant, though Rehil is going to be decent with a bow and the two casters can support there, and I don’t think we really NEED one, anyway. But it would bring something unique and useful to the group.
Of the non-psionic options you specifically listed, an Alchemist could provide some uniqueness to this crew in terms of skills, combat options, magic utility, and backup heals (if you took the appropriate class features). Secondarily, a monk could also provide some useful abilities. Being able to support with scouting as well as be an additional stand-in for melee is always useful.
How’s that for too many options? :)

Unless you can think of a very good reason, no firearms. We've just had a war yet firearms are nowhere mentioned, yet you would expect them to be everywhere if we've just had a massive civil conflict. If I were to permit them, my initial feeling is that it would have to be something to do House Cannith. But it makes me feel uncomfortable. Ironically, given Eberron's setting with semi-industrialised manufacture, it makes guns more difficult as they really would be a more-or-less mass-produced item and therefore commonplace. In Golarion you can get away much more with them being rare, individual shooting pieces. Thoughts?

When we can afford a wand of cure light wounds, Rehil can take some UMD ranks and act as a backup healer. For now we have a whole bunch of CLW potions.
Tenro, I wouldn't worry about cramping Rehil's style at all. You could make a second rogue and it wouldn't bother me.
Really your options are pretty wide open.

Given the prevalance of magewrights, I get the feeling from Eberron that magewright+wands were suppose to replace guns. PF guns do require some training to be good, and for most npcs a level 1-3 magewright with a wand of fireball (or even magic missile, which IIRC were standard issue for low level soldiers who could use them) is going to be a lot more powerful in a war than a level 1-3 warrior with a primitive firearm. You might be able to say that firearms are something House Cannith experimented with a little and decided were inferior to magic. Or, you could say House Cannith decided that making firearms and other mundane technology to potent and easy to use would substantially weaken the dragonmarked houses monopolies.
Actually, that can help explain a lot of delays in producing nonmagical technology in Khorvaire : the people doing a lot of the inventing, the dragonmarked houses, have a vested interest in avoiding the danger of mundane technology making them less essential.

pursuant to my previous post, i would like to go with the Investigator class (from the Advanced Class Guide Playtest PDF that everyone's hearts are all a-flutter about). It nicely combines the things i like from Alchemist with the things i like from rogue.
I can choose skills that don't overlap too much with Rehil, and the character would be a serviceable combat support as well as a skill- and infusion-based problem solver.
