As he watches, two larger rats make their way out of the pipes, their bright red eyes reflecting in the light of your sunrods.

Attack vs Taurven- 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 1d1 ⇒ 1 and give me a fort save if hits.

Taurven slashes at the new rat, but it easily skitters out of the way, of his sweeping dagger slash. The fine quality blade reflects the light nicely, but fails to draw blood.

As two more rats, although larger, came through the pipe Aleksandyr groaned and stepped around Jelani. He raised his longsword again and struck down at the vermin with a look of disgust on his face. "Gross," he snarled, offended by the creatures that were dwelling in the city sewers. "I'm going to need a scrubbing after this..."


The rat shrugs off Aleksandyr's blow easily.

Blast clenches his jaw as the larger, red-eyed rats approach, and he sidesteps the attack of one, though the smaller rat does bite into his leg. Just great... I wonder how grandfather would react if he saw this. Me fighting rats...

With a sigh, Blast shakes the rat loose once more, steps back, and thrusts with the cane again. "Alek, Jelani--take a step back, I'll burn them!" Blast calls to his friends, though he himself is unsure whether he'll get the chance in these close quarters.

No rats attacking him meant no distractions for Mirrender -- and that was definitely a good thing. The sweat was just starting to bead on his blue-purple skin as he sent a bolt of force toward the lead "glowy & big" rat.

I'm presuming that force damage doesn't bypass DR in which case the rat easily shrugs off Mirrender's bolt.

Blast is hesitant to throw a bomb in close quarters, but it seems a good way to end this quickly. "Alek, Jelani, get back!" he says again. "I'll toss a bomb once there's room, but I'd rather not catch you!"

Readied action to throw a bomb once Alek and Jelani move out of the way, or if they yell to throw anyway.

There is almost nothing that can ignore, or even resist, force. Even incorporeal are fully affected by it. It's useful, even if it is basically a hand-crossbow.

Seeing as the western rat -- the one closest to Mellany -- is now down (hopefully for the count), Mirrender turned his attention to the ones on the East. There were two warriors over there, so he wasn't too terribly worried ... but even so. Well, Captain would take care of the Westerly soon enough.

"Let me know if you want me to blast that one as well."

"HaHAHA!", he laughs. "Blast, hurry! That little one's about to FAINT!"

I see the little rat doing 'duck and cover' drills...

I'm not sure what you want that for. Taurven tells Jelani. The half-elf frowns. I really don't want it in our home, though. You'll have to figure some other place to keep it.

You wake up in a Chelexian Jail Cell with no equipment, you awaken bound and gagged.

Rules

26 point buy, no starting attributes above 16 after racial modifiers
you start 1st level with no equipment except a mundane set of clothing, the gag around your mouth and the shackles binding your hands and feet.
Any Race from Chapters 1-3 of the advanced race guide is allowed, but no customs.
Any paizo class or archtype is allowed as is Dreamscarred presses psionics unleashed. but it most be published on www.d20pfsrd.com
instead of the bonus attribute point every 4th level, you recieve a bonus buy point every level. this is already included into your 1st level point buy.
2 traits; plus a third and 4th trait developed by the DM. in some cases, a DM chosen feat might be given instead of the traits. this trait won't always be optimal and won't intionally be chosen as such.
DM has the right to veto specific builds on any grounds he chooses.

Humans get +2 to a second attribute of thier choosing, but cannot choose dual talent.

I would like to apply to co-DM. I'm afraid I don't have a great deal of DM-ing experience but I know Pathfinder quite well and have plenty of time to put in.


Here's my submission, a vishkanya monk named Karash. Planning on taking snake style feats as the game progresses.

He's landed in jail for attempting to assassinate someone, but it'd be especially awesome if I can tie that in with someone else' character in the party. Maybe he was sent after the aforementioned judge's daughter, only Waterhammer's bard was there and things didn't work out as planned. Maybe there was a scuffle or maybe he just hesitated when it came time to "finish the job". It was his first hit (ever) and suffice to say, if he makes it out of jail alive, he may have angry assassins on his tail for a job poorly done.

All the stats are in the profile and I'll definitely flesh this guy out more later on.


If you need co-GMs, how many players are you looking for?

What to chose... Thinking witch or summoner at the moment.

I'm thinking a tiefling alchemist, like what I had planned for another campaign I was gonna do...

However, I'd rather use the tiefling described in Council of Thieves' Infernal Bastard trait:

Rather than a resistance 5 to electricity, cold, and fire, get a +2 to saves against these effects; and instead of darkness 1/day, get a single 0-level at-will.

Let me know if this is acceptable!

Officially Mellany is in jail for theft. In reality, she spurned the advances of a local bigwig so he framed her for robbing his wife's jewelry. More detail on her background will be developed if you're interested.


Out of curiosity, why the artificial ceiling on starting attributes? I can understand nothing above 18 after racial modifiers, but nothing above 16 seems a little underpowered to me. Can you explain this a bit?


Totally out of place, but I'll take a crack at it psychic.

16 is very powerful, just not as superhumany as 18. What this will allow you to do is build your characters strength up as you go, rather than having him start insanely powerful. Also, IRL there aren't so many min-max'd people out there. It creates more realism while leaving room for some fantasy progression. I could be terribly off, but that's the impression I got.

I'm goin to work on a build and have something up soon. I presume it's okay to save up points and can them in when I'm ready right? If so is the minimum spent at lvl 1 25 points?

He is in a Chelish prison because he propagated devotion to the good cause and silent resistance against the Infernal influences in Cheliax and the similarly dark influences seeping in from Nidal. Besides that he also is an Andoran national.

EDIT: He might go Staff Maguc MC at a later point to get better with his matron's favorite weapon.

well, i'm not a very experienced DM, which is why i elected to have to Co DMs. i will allow the 4 Co Dm applicants to sort it out amongst themselves. but i am looking for quite a lot of players. 8-12 is my prefferred amount.

May I take the "Desert Shadow" trait, but instead used it as "Shadow of the Forest" to have it fit my backstory? I wouldn't even have to change the description of the trait. I like using traits to make my character more dynamic. Generally speaking, I try mold traits to accentuate the personality and background of the character, not the other way around.

Waterhammer, yes, a half elf is fine, the core races are in chapter 1 of the ARG and i said chapters 1-3.

Krybyn, yes, you can save points for later, but you must spend at least the first 25.

Loup Blanc; you can take infernal bastard, treat it as an alternate racial ability instead of a trait.

Akari; Taking a trait and Renaming/Reskinning it is fine.

i do intend to have a lot of players. 8-12 players is what i am going for. i might go for more. Basically 1E table size. the more players, the more freedom. and i happen to be an inexperienced DM who is used to playing as a PC in 10+ player groups. it also allows my sadistic homegame style to make me less guilty. more players means i feel less qualms about downing a guy or two.


Just wondering, and the answer is probably no, but will I have my alchemy book with me? If not, as I expect the case will be, will I be able to easily access it before very long?


Would you be ok with me changing the character from a generic Aasimar to an Angelkin Aasimar? They are new from the Blood of Angels supplement and spoiler here.

In short the changes are:
Stat bonuses change to: +2 Str, +2Cha instead of standard
Skill Bonus: +2 Heal and Knowledge (planes). I traded the 'Skilled' feature away for Linguist though
Spell-Like Ability: Alter Self 1/day instead of Daylight 1/day

The basic idea for the character already was to be a descendant of an Astral Deva (which would fit with him propagating the cause of good) and this way I can get that in a more direct way.


Cuan; Angelkin is fine

Naberius, you will eventually be able to recover your spell/alchemy book before long. in fact, any spellcasters are reccomended to list thier initial prepared/known spells. so that wizards and such aren't as shafted.

there will bother other, notable npc Inmates, you can earn thier trust or kill them, or temporaily use their help. they provide no loot though.


Profile finished. If there's anything wrong let me know. Heads up: I took the prehensile tail alternate racial trait, since the sorcerer bonus did nothing for me. If you'd rather I not have this, I can trade it back, but I figure the tail is as easy to shackle to the body as hands and feet.

How many players are you looking for...? An Aasimar Paladin in a Cheliaxian prison sounds like the beginnings of a fun adventure. The fluff in Blood of Angels is pretty awesome.

How severe a crime are we supposed to come up with for ourselves? I have a character that came to mind that I think would be pretty cool, it's just that he was arrested for all of the things that get monarchs hot and bothered: sedition, treason, abolition. He is a halfling cavalier (order of the paw) who was born free but has spent his life helping slaves escape. He was arrested because he has gotten reckless as he upped his game, and started agitating for revolution.
