Climbing out of a wiring hatch, Baedjrak looks up at the large Reptilian. "Rustbucket?! How dare you disgrace her with such a vial name. This vessel, she is a lady, and our trusted companion. She needs a name like "The Finder's Grace", or "Lost Fortune", not a derogatory monicker?! That will only bring us bad luck-"

Baedjrak is suddenly cut off by sensor alarms, and jumping to the scanners, takes a careful eye to them.

"Look what you did!!! Defensive drones are moving in to attack us..."

The two drones move to try to flank your ship surprising Elthaeron with there skill, he will not be underestimated again.

We're going to resolve the engineering phase and helm phase at the same time, Gunnery will be done afterwards.
@Arika as Captain, you can act once per phase... most roles only have access to one actions that act in one phase, not so the captain!

Baedjrak has cobbled together a variety of dataslates, wires, and pressure gauges into a makeshift engineering station and dives into the controls present as their vessel begins its engagement. "Hey Tros, I am sending more power to our weapons systems. See if you can bring them down fast!"

The two drones prove extremely maneouverable having an incredibly small turning arc to the point of being irrelevant. Both move to flank your own vessel!

"GET SOME!", Trosvod yells as he starts hammering the orange vessel.

Firing: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21


Trosvod watches as his missiles hit and badly damage the drone... but it continues it's attack. The two drones open up with light laser cannons. Trosvods targets shot only glances due to him throwing off the shot but it still damages the port shields. The other manages to knock your shields down and do a small amount of structural integrity damage.

Missile Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 1) = 12 Thanks to Baejrak thats actually 14. Enough for a crit but this thing has a special rule where it take +2 damage instead

”Harivente!” Elthaeron yelled as he brought the ship around the injured drone. ”We’re in position. Shoot it down.”


It's clear to Elhaeron that the orange drone is trying to get into his rear arc but the attempt is quite transparent to him.

You have to move a hex and then can turn one facing. You could get to 1205 or 1204. 1204 would get you out of it's front arc so depending on how the weapon is mounted out of danger?

After the first exchange of fire and the shuddering of their vessel, Baedjrak's fingers scurry across his keyboard, redirecting power from their central core into their shields. "I'm working on getting the shields boosted, but I can make no guarantees!"

Success, restore 5% of PCU (100), so 5 shield points, to our defenses. It says it is divided evenly, so 3 to Starboard, and 2 to Port.

@Elthaeron As part of your movement, you are able to perform stunts, including the Evade stunt, which requires a Pilot check DC 12, which grants a +2 to AC and TL for the round.

Trosvod's words are quickly vindicated as the drone is quickly turned to floating junk with the second volley of missiles.

The remaining drone continues to pester you stripping your aft shields and doing some damage but now that it is alone perhaps it will have greater difficulty trying to deal with ye.

Baedjrak continues hitting his controls panels rapidly. "Hold together girl!"

The drone stays close to your aft making ot hard to shake and challenging for Trosvod to get a good shot on. It unloads its light laser at point blank range stripping your shields amd slagging armour. It is becoming clear to you all whoever programmed this drone was no amateur.

With the ship shuddering and groaning, Elthaeron did all he could to keep it together and out of the drone’s line of fire.


The drone stays in the aft arc, Elthaeron is tested to the limit in trying to shake the infernal drone. Unhindered by crew, life support systems, cargo bays it's design not skill that is causing the challenge.

Brand continues to try and strengthen the shields. Luckily, the strength of them has been restored elsewhere, allowing his efforts to be focused on the Aft shields.

Trosvod swears as he continues firing missile after missile at the swift drone.

While Elthaeron can't shake the pursuing drone he refuses to let it get another clear shot. Trosvod finds his evassive maneouvers a challenge to predict.

Elthaeron’s eyes went wide. He grabbed the shaft which controlled the thrusters and at the exact moment the shaft came off in his hands. Yelling elegant elven curses about the parentage of the shipwrights, he hastily put it back in.


Elthaeron might be having trouble but it's testing his skills to the limit it's not going perfectly by any stretch but there are lessons to be learned here... if they can survive!

Your ship twists almost seeming to tumble out of control but Elthaeron is trying a more unpredictable maneouver, when it is down the enemy ship lies before you... then it blossoms into an explosion as Trosvod finishes it off.

Using your sensors to scan the wreckage to gain more information you note drones’ computers are thoroughly destroyed, and no data can be recovered from them.

DC 12 Computers check:

Using ship sensors you find no remains of any kind of Drift technology, most likely meaning that the drones were deployed by a larger ship or from the planet itself. However, there is no indication of where that other ship might be or when it will return.

Baedjrak squeaks with maniacal glee as Trosvod's shot blows the drone to pieces. "YEEEAAASSS!"

After a few moments of celebrating, he turns back to his control panel and scans the wreckage of the drones.

Computers: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 1 = 16

"Hmm, it would seem those drones show no trace of Drift capability. They definitely were deployed by another source, though I am reading no signs of a larger vessel nearby. Perhaps they were left as a form of guard dog, or dispatched from planetside. Either way, there is rather little more we can learn from their expertly destroyed scraps!" He smiles and throws a big thumbs up to the rest of the crew.

None of ye recognise the design or style of the manufacturer.


He sat back in his seat and dropped his arms to his side. After taking a moment to compose himself, Elthaeron said ”We should see what damage has been done to our ship, and to take whatever parts we can scavenge from the drones. We might find a clue as to their origin while we are at it.”


There's little but twisted scrap when you haul the parts on board. Twisted and warped jigsaws missing pieces... explosives and zero gravity tend to help things get lost. One or two useful bits might be found but nothing that explains the mystery of why you were attacked or where the drones came from. Nothing to reduce costs for repair but when you upgrade the ship to tier two it's a good excuse for where you got some parts from

The colony of Madelon on Nakondis still awaits... hopefully.
