Reaghar does indeed get cover penalties firing from the side of the hallway, +4 AC to defender in fact. However, he still manages to hit. Rogue 1 grunts in pain and falls over, dropping his gun.
Connor begins summoning a construct. I'm not sure you can put him on the other side of the room, you don't have line of effect. I think the best you can do is put him at the entrance to the Hallway of Doom and send him down it to attack Kol. You can retcon your action if you want.
Sammark ducks back down the stairwell, taking cover at the bottom.
Rogue 2 falls back into his doorway, and then takes a potshot at Alys.

Connor's Construct manifests, and races up the hallway and into a shotgun slug.
Kol Attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 Kol Damage:2d8 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
The construct leaves greasy ectoplasm on the wall as the plum sized slug rips through it, the wall, and other bits of internal structure of the building. It stumbles but recovers, and moves up to Kol to attack.
Construct:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
However, the structural damage the construct took from the shotgun blast seems to have done something to it's coordination.
(All right, nobody else doing anything here. Reaghar, did you move up? Because your attack makes no sense from where you are in the outer corridor without line-of-sight.)
Connor's stats:
Holding psionic focus (Energy type=Electricity); Power Points=0; AC=18/14/14; Active Power=Inertial Armor manifested (1 hour duration); wearing spiked gauntlet
Connor heard the scattergun firing at his last construct. Hero continued to mutter in his head, telling him how the ectoplasmic creation had taken a round from that firearm. Connor looked at Elrohir, who appeared to be ready to fire his bow down the hallway to the center room, but Reaghar beat him to it with one of his black rays.
But then Reaghar stepped back, and Connor looked dumbfounded at the (we'll be charitable)caution of his two companions. "We've got to do something, guys!" Connor whispered, shaking his head in disbelief. "Sure, the scattergun is double-barreled, and Kol's got alchemist's fire, but come on! This is our chance!"
Connor followed Reaghar into the hallway, past the dead figure of the dwarf. (Or by himself, if Reaghar didn't go into the hallway.) With foreknowledge from his psicrystal, Connor expended his psionic focus, feeling the point behind his eyes flow down his right arm as he pointed a finger at the ugly, Wingless half-orc holding the scattergun, and fired a splash of electricity.
Energy Splash (Electricity):1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24(ranged touch, +3 to attack if Kol is wearing metal armor) confirming the crit:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19(Rays crit x3?)
Damage = 1 + 1 + 1 = 3
After firing his ray, Connor tried to fall back behind the corner, almost stepping on the body of the dwarf. (5-foot step?)

Can't 5 ft step after moving. But you can stop at the end of the hallway and fire, clear view of Kol from there, no cover though. I'll assume Reaghar moved up as well, to allow him to shoot Kol. Map updated.
Reaghar races down the hall, hurtling over dead bodies to attack, but his attack goes wide and splashes harmlessly against a wall. Connor follows, and see's Kol is wearing leather armor, like all the other smugglers. However, he blasts Kol in the throat with this acid splash, and Kol growls angrily.
Electricity doesn't do anything to gunpowder, although a spark can. But it would require the gunpowder to be open and exposed. Splash doesn't do enough to break open the jars, even on a crit, unless you tried specifically to hit the jars. A very very difficult thing to do.
Rogue 2 fires at Alys again.
Attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
His shot comes close, but he misses due to cover. He's in the doorway, so he gets cover, and takes cover penalties
The hallway guard also fires at Alys.
Attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Damage:1d6 ⇒ 4
The bullet rips through her armor, through the flesh of her side, and thuds into a wall behind her, leaving a spray of blood on the hallway floor.
HEaring the menagerie of mechanical clicks, sudden thudas, and squishy noises coming from around the corner SElvan decides to rejoin his allies not doubting the butterfly woman has become quite a colorful menagerie of bullet holes by now.
Stepping back around the corner Selvan swings his polearm directly at the head of the gun toting guard looking to finish this fight quickly.
Swift: Coordinated Strike on guard west of alyss +1 on attack rolls for myself and allies.

One of these days, Selvan, you're going to roll higher than a 10 to hit. Unfortunately, you'll probably roll a one on the damage die. :) Afraid 8 misses.
Wait, I think my turn is before Selvan's so he wouldn't be in flanking position yet, if i see that right. But even subtracting the flanking bonus that attack should finally be a hit. If not, I suggest tactical retreat.
Just to let you all know, I was travelling heavily 10/27 to 10/29, I'll be catching up on 10/30

You knew he was coming, and he didn't get the flanking bonus, so I'll assume you delayed for him to attack first. Either way, you killed the guy in one hit. I assume you were using power attack, thus the +4 instead of +5
Selvan is looking at his polearm, wondering why it won't connect with anything, when a bloody translucent purple blade explodes out of the guard's back. Blood splashes to the ground, and the guard falls to the ground, dead.

Connor mentally directed the ectoplasmic construct to swing again at the half-orc with the scattergun.
Slam Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Slam Dmg:1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10(Astral Construct #4 will fade at end of round, hoping for an AOO.)
While Connor himself reloaded his light crossbow and fired at the target.
Crossbow Attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 Crossbow Dmg:1d8 ⇒ 8
"Hey Wingless!" he called out. "Don't you know magic items blow up here? You're endangering people with that stuff! You could blow up this entire building!"
Connor gripped his light crossbow in both hands, dreading the retaliation from the firearm in the half-orc's hands. (Going Total Defense with the light crossbow or Connor's spiked gauntlet for +4 dodge bonus to AC? For AC/Touch/Flat 22/18/14? No AOOs, but Connor can reload next round.)

You can't go total defense and attack. It's a standard action. You can fight defensively, however you take a -4 to all attacks for a +2 dodge bonus. Your choice.
(I was trying to go Total Defense or Fighting Defensively after my attack. If I can't do that, Connor will just stand there. A good shot follow-up by Reaghar or Elrohir would end this.:) )
Fighting defensively is an augmentation of actions for the round, so the penalties are either applied first or not at all, not as an action unto itself, and Total Defense is its own Full-Round Action

Actually, total defense is a standard action, so you can move and go total defense. You just can't attack and then go total defense or fight defensively, as you've already used your standard action to attack.
Oh. So it is. I could've sworn it was a FRA, but it seems I was mistaken. Looks like some people in my IRL group are mistaken, too. That's a handy bit of info, seldom as I see it used, anyway.
looking at the rules for Cover and my placement on the map, Reaghar is right where he wants to be, he has cover from the enemy but the enemy does not have cover from him. He will stay where he is at, and i am really hoping that ranged touch attack connects.
Dozens of marble sized bits of lead explode down the barrel and out of the gun. They rip through the construct and send ectoplasm splattering over Connor, mixing with the blood that splatters out of him and into the wall. Connor lucks out and only gets hit by a couple of balls, pounding him against the wall, but doing minimal damage. Kol drops the shotgun and pulls a combo flask off his belt.

"Okay, this is starting to hurt, let's see if we can't make short process of those two.", Alys turns toward the two rogues who are now standing in the hall and runs forward, just few feet in front of the first she takes a step up the wall next to her, pushes herself off, flipping over the rogue's head,

Yep, if you'd stayed on the left side, and killed the one to the south, the one to the north would have had nowhere to 5ft step too due to the stairwell.
"And this is why we cover our approach and deal with our opponents cautiously." Selvan says irritably as he presses forward and engages the other two gunmen.
I can't charge over the body so....
Selvan double moves to just north and west adjacent to Rogue 2(?).
Reaghar and Elrohirt are up first. Waiting to see if Selvan changes his move to a charge (note failing to make the Acrobatics DC 5 check would result in Selvan stopping in the square with the body).

Regarding the earlier conversation about powers, I'm not going to be picking up claws of the beast as an actual power,
You'll have to wait a while, Alister, but power stone + Craft Universal Items at 5th Level = Psychoreactive Skin: Skin of the Claw (8,000 gp, 16 days to craft).

I'll be posting updates in the McIntyre plot tonight, and the Mintakia plot as well, if there's enough there for me to advance (I think there is, but need to double check).

I'll be fine. I've got the PLA that I can activate by popping my psionic focus, and that should be good enough for me. It's a move action, and Bite of the Wolf is added on later. That'll be enough gor me, and I wouldn't want to use up resources in a redundant manner like that on my account.
Something I did realize that's a little unfortunate is that I won't be able to augment either the claws or the bite, though it's not too big a deal, I suppose.
Playing up Connor's major-Clan attitude (what didn't get beat out of him the 2 weeks in prison). After all, somebody in the group has to keep the pre-game settings. Reaghar's "coloration" is not enough to change Connor's upbringing overnight.
I just feel that Connor's and Sammmark's first meeting will be...memorable. ;)
But the avians are supposed to be a little snooty towards the non-flyers, right? Just tell me if I'm overplaying it here.
Reaghar and Alister have the 'look' for this kind of plot, but I'm worried about Connor sticking out like a sore thumb. His lack of martial training from Clan McIntyre may be a lifesaver, since Connor won't look like he's used to wearing the stereotypical heavy armor and sword.

The guards were about to kill Sammark with a 'witness' that he broke himself free. But he wasn't free, so they have hesitated. They're not really paying attention to Selvan.
Which work offer do you want to try? It looks like the docks have a Teamster's Guild - and I bet it's as bad as the historical Longshoremen's Union. The pirates are an obvious choice - to get us killed before we can find out anything. Smugglers: those are the ones we want, but how to get there without being set up and/or killed?
I don't want to hog the conversation here. Also, Reaghar has two options - the purple-skinned guy or this girl-child here who is interested in him.

I put Anrive close to Ash because I thought the wild magic from Ash was "blowing off" and doing that "heating up" of Anrive you detailed. I also thought the other three islands were rotating around Atalantius; I didn't know all four islands were rotating around a common point.
I'm terribly sorry. I saw all of the posts yesterday, but didn't want to post wen I got home, instead electing to take a nap at about 4 or 5 pm est, intending to post as soon as I got up. Actually, you had it more right than you know. The three smaller do orbit around the larger continent. Although Anrive is hot due to something else, which you might find out eventually. :)
But the map has them kind of quartered more just to fit them all on the same map. If I'd put them in orbit, they'd have taken up twice as much space, and that JPG is HUGE as it is if I want it to show detail.

If successful, you can take a standard action while at 0 hit points without taking 1 point of damage (or any other action the DM deems strenuous, including some free actions such as casting a quickened spell). You must make a check for each strenuous action you want to take. Before I advance the McIntyre plot, I wanted to discuss a couple of things with that Trio.
To avoid confusion, the odd-looking woman was basically inviting Reaghar (and only Reaghar) to Daumer's Dump for drinks. Social cues are sometimes hard to read via text, so being explicit on that one.
So, there's three ways to handle it. Everyone can show up at the tavern, or Connor and Alistair can go investigate other opportunities while Reaghar is meeting with the girl, or I can do Reaghar's night on the town as a synopsis with some dice rolls.
It's up to you three how you want me to handle it.
temp HP:9, +2 dmg 3 mins HP (21/21) | AC/Touch/Flat 19/15/14 | Fort/Ref/Will +2/+8/+3 | Init +5 | Per +6 | Brutal Disruptor (3)
Hmm i would say either we all show up or we just handle it as a synopsis with dice rolls while the other two look at other angles.
i'm not one to roleplay romance of any sort (dice rolls is good enough for me) and i'd rather not spend time with my character hogging spotlight in the bar scene while the other two twiddle their thumbs somewhere else (not saying they are ineffective or the GM has no plans for them, but i do consider this job offer to probably be our best bet).
I don't have a particular preference as to how to handle it, really. Everyone showing up, or Connor and I going off to find some other avenue, or even dice rolls, are all fine with me. If I had to pick, I'd probably pick for Connor and I to go off on our own to check out other opportunities, but as Reaghar said, his lead is probably our best bet.

If we do the 'synopsis' route, I'll need to know the following :
Reaghar
How much cash do you bring?
Are you willing to go back to her place at the end of the night?
What are you going to try to find out from her?
Alistair & Connor
What do the two of you do that night?
What are you investigating around town?
Is there anything specific you are looking for or asking about?
temp HP:9, +2 dmg 3 mins HP (21/21) | AC/Touch/Flat 19/15/14 | Fort/Ref/Will +2/+8/+3 | Init +5 | Per +6 | Brutal Disruptor (3)
I'll "bank" 4 gp with the belongings i leave in my room (tattoo inks and such).
Sure (just dont want to RP that)
Just general information about the job, specific names is always good. who to look out for, who's on her side and is in need of assistance, areas that they do jobs in that it is perhaps best to avoid. things that one could do to advance faster to get more money. suspicions on who might be on the payroll of authorities so i can avoid them and not get thrown in jail again or executed.
As much as I don't like to split the party, if Reaghar's the only one who got the invite, then I don't want to spoil the contact.
If me and Alistair are left to ourselves, I'll probably go check out that central square job fair area. I know it's the wrong time of day, but it can't hurt to look around, read some of the offers posted, etc. Connor's not so blatant to openly ask "Hey, where's the magic smugglers?". But it can't hurt our cover to ask about jobs available to any of the bums hanging around the central square.
Reaghar, don't forget to put in a good word for Alistair & myself with the Clan Reville job.
Edit: If Connor gives Reaghar his psicrystal-on-a-chain, we'll have a way of tracking Reaghar, just in case.
