(Blade Skill) Close-range expert: When making ranged attacks with her mind bolt, a soulknife does not provoke attacks of opportunity as long as she maintains psionic focus.
(Blade Skill) Enhanced Range: The soulknife’s range increment when throwing her mind blade in any form doubles.
(Blade Skill) Additional Configurations: The soulknife gains the ability to have a separate configuration for her mind blade’s enhancement bonus and special abilities. When she forms her mind blade, the soulknife may choose either configuration. Creating this extra configuration functions just as reassigning the enhancement of her mind blade, typically 8 hours of concentration, and when the soulknife reassigns her mind blade configuration, she must reassign each configuration separately, taking the normal 8 hours of concentration per configuration. Additionally, the soulknife may configure the off-hand light weapon form of her mind blade separately from the main hand configuration, if she chooses to form two mind blades and spends the normal 8 hours of concentration. DESCRIPTION AND BACKSTORY

DESCRIPTION:
Physical Description
This young elvavian woman has tailed butterfly wings colored in the vivid deep blue and black of a blue monarch. Her lean and for an elvavian short stature betrays prodigious strength and agility. She has carefully groomed long golden blonde hair tied in a high pony tail with two flowing bangs framing her blue eyed, slight face.
She wears a fine, wide-skirted, short-sleeved knee length dress in dark red and a white Haramaki across her mid section. Her arms and legs are covered by black elbow length gloves and black leggings as well as elegant but sturdy and practical looking black long boots. A blue silk scarf matching the hue of her wings is wrapped around her neck.
When she manifests her mind blade, it takes the shape of a slightly curved two-handed sword with a simple hilt curved opposite to the blade (giving it a hint of an "S"-shape) the tip of the blade is flat and slightly broader than the base and the whole weapon is shaped from a purple, slightly translucent energy.

Personality
Normally Alys is a cheerful person, happy to help people in need and often involved in her own vivid imagination. She relishes the adventuring life but deep inside she harbors guilt over the incident what caused her to leave her family behind and fear over what might happen one day because of it.
While she is not a person for social mingling, her upbringing has given Alys a pronounced consciousness for appearance, she is always concerned with looking presentable and even when geared up for adventure she looks ready for a courtier's party.
She goes simply by the name Alys, fearing her family name might cause her trouble. If necessary she makes up names on the spot.

BACKSTORY:
House Lindariel was a noble family keen on keeping up appearances and relations with important people. As the younger one of two daughters Alys was often left feeling like she couldn't keep up with her sister and live up to the expectations placed upon her by her family and society. Feeling uncomfortable in her role she would often isolate herself from her family and sink into her own dream world, where she would imagine herself going on adventures and meeting strange creatures. She would imagine herself being a great warrior fighting monsters with a mystical sword that only she could wield.
Even as she got older Alys could never really fit into her place in noble society and the stress this caused her would always move her to return to her imaginary world. At one point when the stress over preparation of an important business meeting and her social ineptitude overwhelmed her, Alys fled out into the woods to let off the pressure, as always she imagined herself fighting monsters with her mystical blade. But this time she felt a kind of focus that she didn't know before, all her frustration channeled into slaying her imaginary foes, a she held her eyes close mimicked the motions of a sword fighter, when suddenly her arms met resistance. As Alys opened her eyes she found a blade formed from purple energy stuck in a tree in front of her, at the base of the blade a hilt made out of the same immaterial fabric, and her hands were holding it. Shocked, she let go and the elegantly curved purple sword immediately dissolved into thin air.
Alys wasn't sure what had happened, but she decided not to tell anyone.
During the visit of the business partner Alys was even more absent minded than usual, as her mind was focussed on what had happened. The meeting turned out to be a disaster as result. Lord Lindariel was furious at his daughter's ineptitude and ordered a servant to administer physical punishment.
Over the next years Alys spent as much time as she could away from her family, she trained to manifest and use her mind blade in isolation, while growing even more distant from her role as a noble's daughter and receiving harsh punishments for it.
When she was nearly coming off age, another major social fauxpas drove her father to personally beat Alys severely, but this time she couldn't take any more, she fought back, swung both her fists at her father blindly, swinging only through thin air most of the time, when suddenly her arms met resistance. As Alys opened her eyes she found a blade formed from purple energy stuck in her father's side. Struck with shock, guilt, grief and disbelief, Alys backed away, as her father collapsed. Not knowing what else to do, she turned and ran, then flew and didn't look back.
Alys never found out if her father died from the wound or survived as she decided to stay away from her family and live in hiding, stuck with her guilt. She learned to scrape by selling her kills with her mind blade as a mercenary and eventually as an adventurer. She would finally live the life she had dreamed of throughout her childhood, but it would always be stained by her guilt over what she did to her father and by the fear that one day she would have to face the consequences.
