Don't forget that you can use a supernatural ability while pinned with a concentration test, this means being drained by a pinned succubus is possible, just takes some skill and concentration on the demons end.

Playing to much mtg has ruined my pathfinder rule-fu, can you use a free action in response to someones action? DM -'The demon goes to to level drain you' Player -'Safeword! Safeword! I release the grapple!"

Ah, the Succubus in a Grapple thread: the gift that keeps on giving! Now, who wants to gift-wrap the succubus? It's Christmas time, time to wrap the presents....

What do I have to wrap it with and when do we unwrap it? These are important questions!

After studying this thread intently, my only question is: Does an extended Grapple generate enough noise to alert wandering monsters...and if so, what would they be.

I know I try to avoid the Rules subforum, but I'm amazed I've been here for years and I'm just now seeing this thread.

Is a succubi's level drain automatic or triggered in sum fashion?

Interestingly enough, information in The Demon's Heresy would seem to imply that the Succubus does not have control over their Energy Drain & that it is instead automatic. Although that same information also implies that such an effect would take something more intimate than a simple grapple.

Grappling The Succubus

A piece of advice, to all who hear
The succubus, don't pull her near.
For as you clasp those limbs so lithe,
Your target, she is sure to writhe.

She'll twist and turn, you'll slip and slide
Your grip will not turn her aside.
For now she has you where she wants
Your hold you should release at once.

If you fail to heed this rhyme
You'll soon find that you're out of time.
She'll find a way to sup her fill
Your life will swiftly start to spill.

So listen well, adventurers brave
Do not expect her to behave.
Her soft caress, her lips will pucker,
Fear her always, and NEVER...

ANY "act of passion" could presumably be used for this ability. Some take longer than a single standard action to complete (one would think or at least very much hope), but it looks likely that a succubus could drain energy from a victim in all sorts of ways. Some wouldn't even require a grapple check, if the victim was unwitting of the demon's true nature and thus was not unwilling. A simple caress could probably do the job, although in truth that would most often not come into play with PCs as it's doubtful you can caress someone in combat unless they are grappled.

As a full round action you could get a bit of foreplay, have the kiss, and then take a smoke with the right feat combination.

Since we started with a Monk grappling a succubus, why didn't the monk use a style while fighting the succubus?

Was it monkey style grapple giving you your Wisdom bonus on Acrobatics checks, and take no penalty for attacking while prone, monkey moves for a Wisdom bonus on Climb checks, and climb and crawl at half speed?
Could lead to faster and easier mounting of the succubus if you try to pin.

Snake style grapple, Gaining +2 on Sense Motive checks, and deal piercing damage with unarmed attacks, then leading to Snake Sidewind to gain a bonus to avoid being knocked prone, and use Sense Motive check to confirm critical hits on unarmed attacks. This would be great for a Monk/Alchemist hybrid with the tentacle discovery because with sense motive you "HAVE SEEN" enough hentai to know where this is going and the tentacle is considered an unarmed attack. Research pending on using said knowledge for confirmation on critical hits. I just can't seem to find the right spot!

Or in the case of a female monk pinning the succubus what about Snapping Turtle Style or Snapping Turtle Clutch? Sure one handed grapple is -4 to the maneuver but you get a +1 shield bonus when one of your hands is free and your shield bonus applies to your CMD and touch AC. Hmm... I wonder where a woman would use that could be called a snapping turtle in a pin or grapple? We must research this at once!

Might I also suggest you look at the Kobold style line(for a small variant). Kobold Flood is all about mounting your target.

Succubus. Best Bestiary Entry, ~30 years running.

So much thought provoking information and mechanically deep abilities; you could plan entire CAMPAIGNS around succubi.

...Hmmm. Stay tuned.

I was talking to one of my Half-Elf friends and he said that he would enjoy using Snake Style and Snake Sidewinder for his monk build. We then also came to the conclusion that if you wanted to go deeper into grapple, he could gain Racial Heritage (Grippli) and then take the agile tongue feat for a prehensile tongue that could to melee touch attacks. I then added that a Monk/Magus could do some extra things as well.

It seems that the maneuver would be this.

Activate Snake Style preferably the round before

State Full round action

Use your arcane pool to make your tongue have the keen quality (you would have to hold your tongue to do so by RAW and use it like an improvised whip or something because the magus must HOLD the weapon)

Grapple Succubus with hands

With Spell Blending, use spellstrike on tongue with Unnatural Lust

Use tongue for unarmed piercing attack (Sidewinder)

Roll for Attack (C'mon 19-20!)

?!@#@ if critical

Use sense motive as plus to confirm

More ?!@$#$!

Profit

When using Unnatural Lust then you should tell her to go do the same thing to another enemy (preferably another succubus) while your party enjoys... uh I mean studies their techniques.

You could also use the Spell Trickery Arcana with Improved Dirty Trick (to avoid AAO) to use your tongue for a dirty trick. If you used another spell blending arcana to obtain Waves of Ecstasy you could then cast it as a swift action (once per day) after the successful dirty trick. Your dirty trick will probably be either pulling down an enemy’s pants to halve their speed or hitting a foe in a sensitive spot to make them sickened for a round. Remember you do have to state what spot it is and the GM makes the final call.

Since half-elves have the Multitalented Mastery feat, you could go Monk/Magus/Alchemist so that you could have the tentacle discovery, hold it like a improvised whip to make it keen, then go into snake style for a keened piercing tentacle attack spellstriked with unnatural lust then and/or waves of ecstasy dirty trick and do the above.

I think the summoner should be added to this scenario (I mean for research purposes, obviously!). You know, their eidolon can get really big, so they would have the advantage in a grapple contest, right? Yeah, I dont think the succubus could win in a situation like this. After all, size DOES matters. At least in a grapple, that is.

That's without getting into the benefits of the monk using doggy style grappling.

Funny most Asian cultures liken the turtle to longevity and felicity. Now why hasn't anybody found out where that Tian Druid Panda Bear is hiding a snapping turtle! Wait it might not be snapping turtle at all, it could be a Southeast Asian Giant Soft Shelled Turtle. Those are endangered you know! We must find it not only for science but for preservation and observation!

What about teamwork feats?

Calvary Formation allows you to overlap yourself and your mount with others who have the feat.

Shake It Off allows you to shrug off fatigue and other affects when you gang up on the succubus.

Swap Places allows for tag-team attacks on the mounted succubi.

Escape Route allows you to swap without AAO risk.

Tribe Mentality means that all your allies roll when she enchants you and if one succeeds, then everybody succeeds the roll.

And of course for those on the small side we have Wall of Flesh for those intense mounting, pinning, and cuddling moments to become one size larger when determining CMD.

See everything gets better if you work together.

This is dangerously close to requiring those sorts of "special" rule books we don't show off out in the open.

Though, if you're a powerful enough wizard to summon a succubus, remember to be courteous. Just because she's a demon doesn't mean she doesn't deserve a casting of Waves of Ecstacy before she goes on her way.
