My misreading of a recent thread title in this forum led me to great disappointment when it turned out to NOT be a discussion of tailed ancestries and heritages. I really love ancestries with tails -- so much so that I was delighted when I realized that my mwangi gnome sylph who is descended from Cloud Dragons could actually have a draconic tail because all geniekin have access to the feat, skillful tail. Yes, her tail is non-functional, but I love to roleplay with it.
What tails do you love? Are there tail weapons you use? What classes do you use for your tail? I am tempted to make yet another thaumaturge with a ganzi just so that I can have fun whacking people with the biggest tail in the game. Tell me about your character's tails!

My adult younger daughter plays a leshy sorcerer in my Ironfang Invasion campaign. Her character and the catfolk monk joined the party at the same time at 6th level, so the leshy was a friend of the catfolk and loved to pet his fur. And the fur of the tailed goblin champion. And the fur of the enemy minotaur sent to negotiate with the party. And the fur of the kitsune playtest kineticist. She declares that she especially loves furry tails.

One of the reasons that Anadi are the best is that in their natural form (as great big spiders) they are like 50% butt.
I like to imagine them as like great big peacock spiders, who have brightly colored butts.

I am currently building a Sacred Nagaji character for a game that will be starting in a few days. Now that is a lot of tail.
That is a LOT of tail. Come to think of it, that amount of tail might be more than a ganzi's... Both are impressive amounts of tail. So what will you be creating with your Sacred Nagaji? Enquiring minds want to know!
I always fancied playing an azata blooded aasimar with the whole lillend deal of a snaketail for a lower body. I'm not sure if that counts.
I think you may want to combine a Sacred Nagaji with an Aasimar to get the full effect. Still, I would love to see that character!

Gymnast Swashbuckler with Wrestler archetype. Will probably flavor a lot of the grappling as wrapping the enemy in snake coils while beating them senseless with fists or the tip of the tail.
Looking it up online, smaller King Cobras can get about a third of their body off the ground when they are in striking pose, larger ones less than that. So to be at about the 5 foot high that is normal for medium size, I figure that the entire length of the character is about 30 feet - about 25 feet of that being tail.

Ah yes, you're right. You may just want to stick with the Sacred Nagaji, then. Or talk with your GM. We have had a couple of cases in PF2 where the designers have allowed more than one heritage in exchange for an Ancestry feat. See Half-Elves with Elf Atavism for an example of this.

This also sounds like a good place to use the Many Ancestries rule.
Though a character can have only one heritage, it doesn't mean characters with lineages tracing back to multiple ancestries or heritages don't exist. It's certainly possible for a dhampir to be born to a half-elf mother, or for a duskwalker to appear in a community of death warden dwarves. In these cases, the influence of the versatile heritage overshadows the other heritage—the dhampir heritage overshadows the half-elf heritage, and the duskwalker abilities replace those of the death warden dwarf heritage. So while, superficially, a character might bear a resemblance to both heritages, mechanically, they only gain the benefits of the versatile heritage.
Pick one of the Versatile Heritage choices to be primary and have the regular Heritage give superficial description and flavor.

Foxfire Thaumaturge build. Although half the time I don't actually break character and complete a session entirely masquerading as a human, just punching things into submission.
I have been strongly considering Sacred Nagaji, the ancestry has some interesting options, but I don't know what class I'd use for it. I might end up saving that for Kineticist later this year...

Oh yes, that is absolutely possible, it's just unfortunate you don't gain the mechanical benefits of the nagaji tail if you also choose aasimar.

It is interesting to see how different tails stack up. Let me know if I am missing any interesting tails.
Geniekin Tails
No weapon possibilities, but you get access to the Skillful tail feat. Though I have often wondered what one might do with skillful tail since you cannot hold items with it. Opening doors seems like a lackluster ability for a 5th level ancestry feat.
Tiefling Tails
Form of the Fiend feat offers a tail with the following traits: Tail 1d4 bludgeoning (agile, finesse, unarmed). It's basically another fist. They also get access to the aforementioned Skillful Tail.
Kitsune Tails
There is the Foxfire feat, which is a wimpy ranged attack (unless you are a thaumaturge, where it becomes quite decent.) A crack of your tail sparks wisps of blue energy. Choose either electricity or fire when you gain this feat. You gain a foxfire ranged unarmed attack with a maximum range of 20 feet. The attack deals 1d4 damage of the chosen type (no ability modifier is added to the damage roll). Your foxfire attack is in the sling weapon group and has the magical trait. Like other unarmed attacks, you can improve this attack with handwraps of mighty blows.
Special If you are a frozen wind kitsune, your foxfire deals cold damage instead of electricity or fire.
Also, some of their ancestral spells come off of their tails.
Kobold Tails
There's a Venomtail Heritage where you don't attack with your tail, but can apply poison from your tail to piercing and slashing weapons.
Then we get some tail attacks that progressively got more and more abilities added on to them.
Iruxi Tails
They get the Tail Whip feat. It's a tail unarmed attack that deals 1d6 bludgeoning damage and has the sweep trait.
Ganzi Tails
They get Smashing Tail feat. It's a tail unarmed attack that deals 1d6 bludgeoning damage, has the sweep trait, and is in the brawling weapon group.
Ganzis also get access to skillful tail.
Sacred Nagaji Tails
Sacred Nagaji heritage grants a tail attack that deals 1d6 bludgeoning damage, is in the brawling weapon group, and has the finesse and unarmed traits. You gain a +2 circumstance bonus on your Fortitude or Reflex DC against attempts to Grapple or Trip you. This bonus also applies to saving throws against effects that would grab you, restrain you, or knock you prone.
Finesse means that this tail can actually be used by a high-dex character... perhaps even a sneak-attacking rogue?

Karkol, you could flavor that you are using your tail feathers to make your Feather Fan, but I do agree that a peacock-style feather display for a tengu could have been a fun feat.
Like you, I totally enjoy roleplaying with my non-combat supported tail.
Also, I totally missed tailed goblins in my glorious catalog of tails!

Shoony could use more feat support overall. I do hope they revisit them!
I wish Shoony would get re-printed in a Lost Omens book, since APs are very unlikely to get errata (even with the new process), and so far they've gotten 0 expansion. Getting more feats and heritages for our pug-headed adventurers would be great, tbh.
If they don't ever re-print Shoony, then I hope they eventually get around to porting over PF1E's Rougarou.

I'd just be happy with seeing their tails in more of the art. I don't know that a shoony tail needs to be able to do anything useful...unless they get a feat called, "That's adorable"

I had to look up Tina Belcher, and I think I'm still missing the context here. I'll admit I started this thread as a joke after completely misreading the title of another thread, but I was wondering what fun things people do with their character's tails.
It's a Bob's Burgers joke. Tina is known for her love of butts.

I think Sacred Nagaji is actually one of the best ancestry unarmed attacks. Bludgeoning is good, d6 is good, finesse with d6 is great.
Iruxi Razor Claws are still the absolute best I think (straight up shortsword stats with the feat, allowing an Iruxi Monk to just arbitrarily do d6 of any physical type with finesse and agile), but those aren't tails and as such are beyond the scope of the thread.

Kashrishi's Puncturing Horn is the best Ancestry Weapon. Just take a look and be thrilled!

Yeah, Kashrishi's horn is great, though dog tooth tengus also get a really nice 'attack with your face' option.
However, this thread is about butts, so let's return to butts. One thing that I completely missed with Iruxi is that they get the Shed Tail feat to allow them to lose their tail and totally escape.
You can shed your tail to escape. You cease being grabbed, then Stride without triggering any reactions from the creature that grabbed you. It takes 1 week for your tail to fully grow back. Until it does, you can’t use your tail unarmed attack, and you take a –2 circumstance penalty on checks to Balance.
That may be one of the most awesome tail feats, ever.
