Got excited for a second there, auth for society modules just hit. Will take what I can though :D
I did the same thing. Let out an exclamation of joy and then confusion. My partner was giving me weird side-eyes.

Sadly we don't know yet. All we know is that a shipment has been delayed to their warehouse which has held up this months order generation. Until that shipment hits their docks there are no reliable dates to give us for when they will be able to ship it out.
I trust that as soon as it DOES hit their docks it will be a priority but they won't run order authorizations until they have the product in hand and verified.
My question is if it is the AP that is being held up, because that is the only thing that makes sense to me as to why they haven't pushed the late content off to next month. If it is the AP though? I can understand why it has held everything up. My other guess is it is multiple products.
As for the Society PDF's we just got Authorizations for them yesterday, so we will likely see THOSE PDF's hit our accounts in the next day or so. But that is also just a guess based on experience.

Physical subscriptions are delayed due to the products not arriving to paizo's warehouse (circumstances outside of their control).
Society content is digital only (no printed product). The authorization for society subscriptions ran last night. This means most likely today the drops will be made to society subscribers. Additionally the society product pages are now available for purchase.
In other words, society content is business as usual. Only physical products have been delayed.
As a general note, if society content gets delayed then typically you'd find that information on those specific product pages. I'd say it's pretty uncommon to have society content delayed.

And this is definitely not the first time society content has been available before the main products in the month. Delays to the physical books aside, none of what's going on is really terribly unusual, haha.
Crossing fingers this is sorted out soon, though! April and May aren't quite as important as June and July, in my estimation, so I'm hoping that the publisher or shipping company or whoever is letting Paizo down right now gets it sorted soon. :)

So if people can buy the pdf and have it now, I don’t understand how my subscription hasn’t shown up yet in my digital content. The society subscription discount is becoming not worth the wait. I HOPE I’ll be able to start working on the VTT by tomorrow.
The answer to this is 'because of process' They have to run authorizations for each and every subscriber. Those are bypassed by the people who just purchase the PDF. It is the difference between a single transaction and thousands of transactions at once. Even if you get them for free the system has to go through the process.
Hope you will get it in time for your games, but I don't think these scenarios were held up by any part of the delayed monthly shipments. They are being shipped at the end of the month as normal. I got my society scenarios for last month the day after the Auth hit. The Auth hit the 30th and the PDF's showed up on the 31st.

We try to space out the time between order creation and fulfillment so that subscribers have a chance to cancel before they're charged. Should have auth'd those on Monday, but Sara Marie was off and I didn't remember that it was the last week of April (HOW?), hence the auth yesterday. Unless I hear differently, the fulfillment should be run at some point today, but I'll let you all know if that changes!

For info, I have received my scenarios, so fulfillment has started.

I imagine it will take a few hours at least to go from "released" to "in Paizo's hands".
Got my Society pdfs today, so that's good. The only problem I see right now is that if I go to "my subscriptions" there's a projected shipment for late May in there, and one for June, but the stuff for April (which has now been moved to early May I guess) is not there at all. I'm not overly concerned, but it is a little disconcerting. :-)

Hm, just realizing I haven’t gotten society scenarios in a few months,

Then you should look up the last set of society scenarios you got and start a thread telling them that you have missed everything since then. They should be able to take care of you fairly quickly.

No news on where our items are in line, just that they are. We are still hoping for good news tomorrow, as we could then try for an extremely tight turn around to start the process of shipping our distributor and customer orders, but we are also forming a plan for how to go forward with April and May releases if that doesn't happen. Unfortunately the products that are missing are the majority of April's items, including the Pathfinder and Starfinder Adventure Paths.

I dont know when you added them back but remember that free society scenarios are only granted to those with at least four physical subscriptions.
(Also, with five subs you'll need to choose whether you want PFS or SFS scenarios so maybe there's an option still to be selected on your "my account" page?)

Wouldn't be a disaster if they shipped together if the May stuff arrived in a timely manner. But with how world wide shipping has been going I wouldn't bank on containers ever showing up when they are supposed to for quite some time to come.

Hi,
I was told to post in here (by a super-helpful forum poster) and tell you that somehow I haven't received my society subscription for April yet. I got the email, but it contained both March AND April PFS products (I already had the March ones).
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Hey Benyar this is a good place but you also want to make a separate forum post of your own to make sure your request gets into the queue. This is a general post area and they monitor it but the official path for making a request is to create a forum post for each request.

At this point, April and May stuff shipping together would be preferable IMHO, if only to save on the shipping fee. Provided of course that is something easy to do on the logistics side etc.

I agree, so long as we aren't waiting until June for the May AP to show up. My problem is creeping May into June and June into July..... If/when the next Battles lands that is going to be a hefty month for me.
redeux |
My only concern is that if we wait for shipping and May releases end up getting delayed then we're pretty much back to square one. Hopefully May doesn't get delayed but there has been a ton of delays across the globe so it's not out of the realm of possibilities.
Either way I trust paizo's decision in how they handle it.

I wonder if PDF;s for subscripers would be released on time?
Subscribers are not sent PDFs until they have billed you for the physical product;
Subscribers are not billed for the physical product until they are shipped. They can't do any of that if there is no product in the warehouse to ship.
There won't be a "street date" for product that Paizo doesn't even have yet to send to distributors/retailers, let alone subscribers.
The reality is that with Covid and seasonal irregularities caused in early February by the Chinese Lunar New Year already disrupt things in the 1st and 2nd quarter. Add to that a global disruption of all oceanic shipping as a result of the Suez Canal blockage, all oceanic shipping has had its schedule disrupted last month. And it will be disrupted next month and the one after that, too (whether here specifically at Paizo or just "other products" it is a far reaching ripple effect). While the Suez blockage didn't stop a cargo ship carrying goods from China to the West Coast of North America, that doesn't mean that it doesn't effect what ships were in China to load in the first place, or what those that were intended to be loaded for destination X will do when reassigned to destination Y.
So the indirect effects of the Suez blockage are pernicious and far reaching across the globe, as all ships that were expected to move through the Suez couldn't. That affects other deliveries and other ships that were supposed to be available to send goods hither and yon have been disrupted --- blah blah blah, basically.
We'll be a few months working all of this out as the spawn of countless delays that were caused by the ripple effect when 12% of all Oceanic travel was put on hold for nearly a week works itself out over time.

Thing is though, I'm completely willing to cancel my subscription to buy pdf if that is the earliest way to get it without having to pay twice for it :'D
Like there is two reasons why I started subscribing this one: One is that 3 part ap is cheaper to collect physically by shipping from america to europe than 6 part ap, second is that I'm planning to convert jade regent to 2e so I'm hyped to have tian xia material as early as possible x'D
So if getting it by subscription means my impatient bad at concentration head has to wait even longer, well uh, that just took bigger half of two out of equation

Totally with you on all of that.
I would actually be curious if (in addition to keeping my Subscription and eventually getting my physical copy) I could purchase the PDF on May 5th and get the digital copy right away.
This is all assuming it doesn't ship within the next couple days.
Mystyc_Truth |
:'D I chose bit awkward time to subscribe again it seems x'D
It seems I had the same bad timing. My roommates told me 2 months ago that I'm going to be GM for PF and SF games (other roommate still will be DM for DnD 5e).
None of us have ever played either and don't have books. Wish me luck on this endeavor. Hoping having DM'd AD&D 1e back in the 80's will help.I ordered many things on APR 15 with the hold until monthly shipment option. Now it's a week past the next ship date and not even sent out yet..... OIY

From my understanding of the subscriptions rules, the PDF will be released at the same time as the physical item is shipped. That is not going to happen until they have the physical items available and then another 2-3 days pending payment confirmation.
Yoshua |
They have broken the PDF rule at least once since I have been a subscriber. But it is the rule.
The basis on it is that if they provide you the PDF and then cancel the order you would have still had access to the PDF. The only fault I see with this is that this has no real security for them than if they release the PDF on the brick and mortar release date because people can still just stop the charges on their cards manually either way and the only real kick back is that Paizo could lock them out of their account.
Personally I think it would make people happier that the 'free PDF' be guaranteed on the day the physical products release. But then I've heard that it also has to do with billing and they account for the free pdf's as a bonus to the subscription and if they released them before payment it could mess something up.
All of this is conjecture of course, but it's the way I've come to understand it after watching these threads for years.

While that is true, the society subscription is fully digital, since there is no print product. I think up-thread I read that the Society adventures should have been released to the subscribers already.

As I recall, the last time they did that was when they had problems shipping products out of their warehouse during the pandemic lockdown.
But I suspect that this time the problem is completely out of their hands and affects game store shipments as well as direct Paizo subscriptions. I would be surprised if they do anything other than delay the street date to a point where most customers (both subscribers and game stores) will have had their shipments sent out by and then eventually delete/merge a later monthly shipment.
