It's reassuring to know other people are still waiting. I'm sure customer service is doing their level best in mad times. Being a subscriber since Pathfinder #1 and years of Dragon magazine before that, there's never been a moment when I've had reason to believe Paizo's customer service wasn't the cat's meow.

So, I was wondering why my map and AP were shipped separately a couple of times during the past few months, each being almost $6 postage each. OK, my setting was "cheapest". Now, I was looking at my January shipment (one AP, one flip mat, SOM Pawns) and shipping was estimated to be $24. That seemed a little high, so I began experimenting. I changed the shipping to UPS (I have issues with UPS, but that's a different story). Estimated charge was now $21. Well, now, isn't that interesting. Changed again to USPS Priority and now the shipping estimate is $13.
There's something seriously broken with their shipping charge algorithm and Paizo needs to take notice. At the very least, they need to notify their customers that we need to be proactive in selecting a shipping method, if they don't want to be responsible for attempting to calculate the cheapest method.
In particular, most of my stuff has been coming through the UPS MI portal, which seems to be the absolute slowest (I wouldn't necessarily mind if it WAS the cheapest), but based on what I found, it's the MOST expensive AND the slowest. Plus, the tracking seems to not be very good when the shipment is handed to USPS.....the tracking generally stops, sitting in Kansas City for 3 to 5 days, then will suddenly appear on my doorstep.
C'mon Paizo, I know we're all under pressure with the current world situation, but charging double for "cheapest" is surely letting your best customers down. I can buy more stuff if the shipping was being charged correctly (and this is for domestic US.....I get that foreign shipping is a whole different and sad story).

Well thank you Flyteach. I just changed mine to USPS Priority and my upcoming shipments went from about 33 to 28. It also went from 3 packages to 2.
One of those packages is listed is a battles case, so it is definitely a heavier than normal shipment next month, but appreciate the heads up.

Thanks for the extra info, Flyteach. I just looked over the actual shipping of my December order again, and it's even stranger than I thought.
As I mentioned, my order of two books was split and I was charged twice. Troubles In Otari, is listed with a total shipping weight of 2 lbs.. However, the shipping cost listed for that book is $4.83. Meanwhile, Adventure Path #162 is listed with a shipping weight of only 1 lb. But the total shipping weight for that product is $5.65. So not only have I been erroneously charged twice for shipping, I'm unsure why the box with a lower shipping weight threshold is over a dollar more expensive to ship. I'm also confused because I haven't noticed any significant weight difference between Adventure Path books and Pathfinder Adventure books.
I'm posting this here so others might see it and check their own shipping weights.

Quick update: I just played around with my subscription shipping option, choosing USPS Priority instead of Cheapest Shipping, and the shipping and handling for January's Adventure Path #163 (my only book for the month) went from $4.83 to $8+. I've since changed it back, but it's interesting that the USPS Priority wasn't cheaper for me.
This has me even more confused as to why the cheapest shipping method split my December order, and charged me twice. It definitely seems like a bug that needs fixed. And I agree with flyteach and others; it's a shame we have to actively search for the cheapest method, when the "cheapest shipping method" doesn't always get the job done.

Customer service are very, very noticeably absent from this thread, but I see the end shipping date has come and gone. I'm still pending. Is there any update on shipping? The value of subscriptions is rapidly diminishing if they can't even be bothered to monitor their own monthly thread.

He asked about the authorization. But yes, I imagine most of the actual shipping will be that week of the 18th to the 22nd, with the official start on the 11th.
Hopefully they'll post a January thread soon though.
Edit: These were the dates for January 2020
•Authorization (Order Spawning) Date: Thursday, January 9th Monday, Jan 13th
•Begin Shipping Estimate: Monday, January 13th Wednesday, Jan 15th
•End Shipping Estimate: Friday, January 24th Wednesday, Jan 29thThursday, Jan 30th
•Street Date for Paizo Products: Wednesday, January 29th

Still pending here too. It'd be nice to get some sort of update on subscription shipping from Paizo, seeing as the public release is tomorrow, and the final shipping estimate in this thread still says December 4th. It's only been three working days since then... Right now we're stuck in limbo wondering if the shipping is just taking much longer than anticipated, or if there's something actually wrong with our subscriptions.

Agree that some sort of update would be good. We are on release date now and I've still not had a shipping notice. Would be good to know how far behind Paizo are and, as Paul says above, that it's not a problem with individual accounts

Mine came through today as well, which is nice, but I really think someone at Paizo needs to give an update here. Running subscriptions a week or more over the estimated shipping period and past the public release date isn't necessarily a serious customer service issue on its own IMO, because between Covid and Xmas things are crazy right now, but doing so without any explanation or warning at all to the customers affected IS a really big deal as far as I'm concerned and potentially a significant PR problem for them.

Looks like my shipping notice generated at 7:15am this morning. Perhaps the warehouse team is on a last, hard push to wrap up today so they can start some (well deserved) vacations this weekend! ;)

I haven't seen CS respond to anything that wasn't a cancellation request lately. Maybe the only way to get Paizo's attention is to cancel subscriptions.

I’ve seen them respond to other issues.
They don’t seem to be updating these monthly threads as avidly as previously, but I think a few staff have left or gone on break and providing information may have been prioritised lower than actual issue-resolution.

Customer Service Representative Joan H., who has created these monthly threads most recently, hasn't posted anything since November 7. It's possible she left the company and her post hasn't been filled yet, or something else is going on.

Hi friends! I did indeed leave Paizo in November, and C also left Paizo Customer Service team recently. I don’t know if my two cents will be appreciated by the team or if it will cause trouble, but I thought I’d post them here and this comment can be removed if needed.
The team is really involved in hiring and training, and Diego and Sam are the only two experienced CSRs at the moment out of 7 on the team, during one of the busiest times of the year, with a massive backlog. While there were three new folks who joined the team a couple of months back, in my experience it takes a solid 4-6 months before CSRs are trained and mostly independent in our software (and even then, I was always learning something new about our system a year in). So not only has the team been filing positions, they’ve also been training new folks on Paizo’s quirky, proprietary software.
I promise the team is thinking about you folks but, I’m not going to lie, the CSRs are constantly fighting fires and things slip between the cracks. I know I’ve been guilty of skipping updates while working on subscription issues despite trying my best to keep you folks updated. I’m sure the team will be here soon with an update but, in the interim pls send them love and be patient. You know they’ll hear you out and take care of you when they’re able to.

Been trying to "track my package" but apparently the United States Postal Service has no idea where it is. I do have a delivery confirmation number. No, the package hasn't been delivered — I've had the confirmation number at least since UPS delivered the package to the postal system. And of course the confirmation number doesn't link to anything (maybe it will once the thing gets delivered) and there's no clue what I'm supposed to do with it. So I guess I'm waiting some more. heh.

Hello.. I've sent several emails regarding my Lost Omens subscription and have received no replies yet. I am still waiting for the pathfinder society guide. It hasn't been charged to my card yet, even tho it shows I still have the subscription active and I haven't received the product in an form (not physical or pdf). Is this ever going to be processed?
Also, when I signed up for the subscription, the page clearly said if anything was preordered, that would be cancelled automatically and I wouldn't be double charged or double shipped. Yet, I was charged for two copies of the Legends book and have two physical copies now. I'd like to return one and get a refund on it. PLease advise on how to go about this, thanks. (several email requests to resolve this issue were sent as well with no response).
Thanks for your time.

Wonderful. Got updated tracking information today. Apparently, my package has been delivered… to somebody in Bloomington IL. Certainly not to me, since I'm nowhere near Bloomington. Actually Warrendale PA, where the package was apparently entered into the USPS system four days ago, is a lot closer to me than Bloomington is.
I'm going to wait until Monday to see if anything changes. We'll see.

Hey out there,
Something's definitely wrong with the way the order beast generates my subscription orders.
None of them have shipped correctly since early this year - they always get stuck in Limbo until someone pokes them (last time it was Jeff Alvarez in early September so June, July and August would ship).
So ... according to my records my September, October, November and I'm sure soon December orders will just be ... falling forever like Loki?
:)
