I know it's still very early, but what types of characters are you thinking about using in the AP?
I'm considering:
Half-orc hunter (feral hunter; VMC barbarian); Toothy alternate racial trait; starting with Eschew Materials and planning on Aspect of the Beast (Claws of the Beast) at 5th, and Natural Spell at 9th; some switch-hitting (composite longbow, gravity bow), but mostly focused on natural attacks with some healing (goodberry) and support
Human magus (esoteric); possibly looking at picking up some of the chakra feats (even though they are sub-par)
Human paladin (mind sword; VMC inquisitor); starting with 13 Int and Fast Learner, planning to take Unsanctioned Knowledge at 5th
Sylph skald (spell warrior); Breeze-Kissed and Thunderous Resilience alternate racial traits; Vagabond Child trait and possibly a dip in rogue or another class to pick up Trapfinding; starting with Airy Step and planning on Wings of Air at 9th
Other possible characters:
Dwarf kineticist; Stonesinger alternate racial trait; Earth and Void (Gravity) elements; possibly looking to take the Earth Child special wild talent
Human fighter (child of Acavna and Amaznen); Scholar of the Analects trait; starting with Exotic Weapon (Falcata) and Weapon Focus (Falcata), planning on Taldorian Duelist at 3rd

Marking for interest. What got you to pick Child of Acavna and Amaznen instead of Myrmidarch Magus? The latter gets 3 ranks of Weapon Training and 2 ranks of Armor Training (if I recall correctly, the former gets none of either one) and better spellcasting even after taking into account Diminished Spellcasting, and only slightly fewer bonus feats (but gets 3 Magus Arcana before considering Extra Magus Arcana) and only slightly lower effective BAB and HP.

Falcata. Focusing a bit more on straight weapon damage (with some self-buffing) than Spellstrike crit-fishing.
Besides, "standard" magi are starting to get a little boring (IMO).

Keirine, Human Rogue |
I've got a couple ideas....
Elven Occultist searching for relics of the past who is just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Human Inquisitor of Milani who is getting ready to move out of the village and ends up staying to fight against the Horde.
Tiefling Warpriest of Iomedae who is a chaplain with the town guard who knows that on the frontier that also means being able to fight.
Human Barbarian because I just really like playing Barbarians.
I know this AP is geared more towards Druids, Rangers, and other outdoorsy, animal companion-y types, but none of those classes ever really hold any appeal for me.

Probably won't get a chance to play in this. Oh well.
Likewise. Oh, maybe when I'm old and bald (already grey) I'll translate it into 3rd or 4th edition Pathfinder and run games in the old age home I'll no doubt be stuck in. ;)
Rogar Valertis |
Kethar Orcbane, Dwarven Paladin (Tortured Crusader).
Hailing from Kraggodan, Kethar was sent to Nirmathas to assess the danger posed by the rumored hobgoblin horde supposedly invading that Country and causing the sudden influx of refugees that had invested the Sky Citadel.
Kethar and his unit travelled to Nirmathas and found out about the Ironfang forces.... getting anihilated in the process. Now Kethar is the only one left of his camerades, all slain in skirmishes with the Ironfang scouts. Wounded, bloodied but not beaten the dwarf is fully expecting to meet his end trying to stem the tide of invasion but has sworn to bring as many goblinoids as possible with him, smiting them all in the name of Torag. There might be no victory in the face of such overwhelming force of evil but Kethar isn't willing to hide and run from it and will fight the good fight to his last breath...
Basically a character resembling a Trollslayer from Warhammer Fantasy, grim and determined to go down fighting. The archetype seems most appropriate for this kind of character and should also be pretty decent at doing his job.

Sir Guy Gizzy, Human Cavalier/Hellknight. Order of the Nail.
The AP is about foreign invaders and outdoors so it would be an opportunity to play a mounted Cavalier which I never play. More importantly, the raison d'etre of Hellknight Order of The Nail is that they are really, really racist, and proud of it.

Its a ranger archetype from the advanced class guide.
Its should be called "Im playing Robin Hood"Cuàn |
Now I'm thinking of a silly, comedic character.
A Goblin Hunter who finally wants to deal with those pesky hobs. He also fails to understand the concept of guerrilla warfare and thinks it involves gorillas. One can guess what his animal companion is.
Could also just play a Vanara or an Orang-Pendak(B5) and put the gorilla in guerrilla that way. The Vanara could legitimately be nice though.

After a few months of consideration, these three characters will stay. I'm rethinking the paladin, though.

This character looks to be a better fit with the Ruins of Azlant AP. Actually, I've already decided on including this concept on the Ruins of Azlant team.
Dwarf kineticist; Stonesinger alternate racial trait; Earth and Void (Gravity) elements; possibly looking to take the Earth Child special wild talent
Hmm... Maybe add a couple levels in stonelord paladin? That could work.

On further thought, I'm going in a different direction (saving the dwarf kineticist for another time):
Human brawler (wild child); Orphan trait; wolf companion; Fey Foundling and Weapon Finesse (Dex-focused); planning on taking four levels of paladin (gray paladin)*, the Boon Companion, Greater Mercy, and Spirit's Gift feats, with the rest of the feats going to archery (flurrying with unarmed strikes or a nine-ring broadsword** in melee)
*- some nature-y LG, NG, or LN deity; Erastil maybe
**- has the Monk weapon property, so it can be used with Brawler's Flurry.

One change to the magus. I'm changing Unarmed Spellstrike to "Esoteric Spellstrike (Su): At 1st level, an esoteric gains the magus spellstrike class feature. However, an esoteric can deliver spells with spellstrike only with his unarmed strikes or weapons with the monk special feature. This ability alters spellstrike." Note that the esoteric still only gains proficiency in simple weapons, so brass knuckles and cestus are the only options without spending a feat, multiclassing, or a non-proficiency penalty.

It seems a little weird to make characters in this since they're probably assumed to be from Nirmathas, but we don't have a whole lot of lore on that country besides their conflict with Molthune. And since Molthune is confirmed to not have a huge role in this AP, it's more a matter of "Be from Nirmathas but have backstory/goals not focused on Molthune" which is kind of a hard bargain.
I suppose you could have PCs who are from out of town or Nirmathi characters who have fought their "first battle" against Molthune before the true test of their heroics comes in the form of the Ironfang Legion.
But in my case, I will try to give Molthune a bigger role in the story. And I will include support for PCs who want to play as Molthuni characters: in the beginning of the game, they have been captured by the Nirmathis and are being held in the town jail of Phaendar when the Ironfang's attack begins. They will be released somehow and will form a "Join together or hang separately" alliance with the Nirmathi PCs.
