Or the "I've submitted my item but voting still hasn't started yet" freakout and speculation thread.
How do you pass the time between the submission time and the start of voting? (Mostly, I try to forget that this contest exists for a day or two.) I guess the real superstar answer would be to work on all the other RPG projects you're doing!

Bath - hot, radox bubbles (cherry or lemon one), lots of bubbles, a pathfinder novel or two, sit back, relax.
After bath, favorite film, remind daughter that I just replaced her laptop that wouldnt upgrdae to win 10 with a working new purple hp one, and that its her turn to make the cup of tea ;)
Then, some chocolate, a cuddle with my pooches, a momnet of checking the boards for usual inanity in the forums.
Then to warcraft to annihalate alliance toons in pvp, horde FTW! :P

By realizing I made a formatting error in my submission, of course!

Then I recommend starting to work on map ideas if you haven't already.

As usual, I know *exactly* why the voters will hate my item. They're the same reasons they will love my item.
What I don't know is which emotion will win.
I actually thought the submission deadline was on Friday at 2pm, so when I went to see if I could start voting yet and realized my mistake... well now I'm pretty much completely calm and in waiting mode.
So, my advice is to fail a Knowledge: Rules check (DC 5), and then confuse yourself into a state of steadiness. It's basically like Drunken Boxing. I think.
On the other hand, I finally closed the tab with my submission so I'd stop reading it. Hopefully the next time I read my submission text will be when I get to vote for it! I've got zero time for hindsight this weekend!
I've been submitted for awhile. I think my mechanics were strong but I didn't get the mojo where I wanted it.

Clay Clouser wrote: I've been submitted for awhile. I think my mechanics were strong but I didn't get the mojo where I wanted it. This is my problem. I like my item enough and so have the people I asked about it for their opinions, but whether the voters are going to like what I presented is another thing. Other voters just might not get what my item is or just not care for the abilities, but I'll hope for the best.
Since I've submitted, I've come up with 4 possible map designs, 3 possible monsters, and 2 outlines I could turn into module pitches... (ok, not really, I thought of one of the module pitches, and one of the monsters before I actually hit submit...)
More importantly, I've put together an NPC pitch for a 3rd party book.
AND...I got my last couple vigilante playtests in so I could get my final feedback in for the Ultimate Intrigue book.
So really, haven't had time for nervous tension about my item.

Toddler down for bed. Think I'll go do the same. Can't wait for tomorrow (though new errors and flaws were found tonight after having my item submitted for a couple days now...)
So will the voting start at midnight, right after the deadline hits? Or will it not be until the morning? I suppose the latter's more likely.

Looks like noon pacific on the 17th to me.
I scrolled down my "RPG Superstar 2015" document to where I'm practicing brainstorming map/monster concepts. ;P
EDIT: Oh, thanks, Covent. Where was that?
It is listed on the chart with the deadlines for each round.
Oh, I didn't notice the times on that! Thanks.

This is my first RPG Superstar but I have a new level of respect for people who create unique items. That was a challenge and I had to scrap more than one idea. Nervous is not how I would describe what I'm feeling. I'm excited for the opportunity to create more items. Win or lose, this was fun.

First time or ninth time good attitude!
I go back to work on material I develop outside of RPG Superstar. One of my friends commissioned me to do artwork and design items for his campaign. And I'm currently playtesting a class.
I live in Monterey and just had to endure Car Week. For those who don't own a million dollar car or live here, it is almost the ComicCon of expensive cars. I also work at a hotel that host one of the bigger auctions.
I spent this time waiting for voting to begin by working hard to give good service to very rich people from all over the world while looking at really, really expensive cars I will never be rich enough to own. It was a very stressful but fun week.
Now that it is over I am reminded that voting is coming up soon and I am slowly freaking out on the inside.
Voting will begin on my lunch break tomorrow. I know where that hour is going!
Would it be fun if everyone posting in the SupahStah! forums switched their avatar to a Jacob avatar? :)
Yes! Except template fu of course.

I just realized a key problem with my item, and now I'm wondering if anybody else will notice, too. Just act casual. Casual. Little-known fact: When you choke a smurf, its head pops off, skitters around on four little legs, and springs onto the face of its attacker. It is not recommended that you try to choke a smurf unless you are a trained professional or someone I don't like.
Where's Asrael when I need him?!

AAAAAAHHHHH!
I think I'm the only Kellogg entered this year, so the pressure is intense!
Ahh, less than a day until voting begins!
I read the Core Rule book for Dungeon Crawler Classics, AND about 1/8th of the rule book for the Dragon Age Roleplaying Tabletop game.
I also-reread most of the core-mechanics for Eclipse Phase.
And some of the Occult Adventures book.
Thankfully, today is my most busy day of this week in the office.
This went from very bad to very good when I realized voting will open at 9pm in France ;-)

I'm a first timer as well, and really looking forward to this. I've been wanting to submit since the first RPG Superstar contest, but we all know how RL forces us to re-prioritize our time. Good luck, everyone!!!
PS I've seen some posters commenting on what the future rounds are going to be. I actually haven't seen the list for future rounds, could someone post a link, or offer some directions on where to find it? Thanks!
You can look at the past years of competition to get somewhat of an idea. The blog also talks about some changes to round 2 and 4, so we know what round 2 and 4 are. We can guess what 3 and 5 will be based on that, but it's not 100% a sure thing, and we don't know the nuances of the rounds.
For example, we know we have to design a map in round 2, and that it has to fit on a flip mat. What we don't know is whether the map will need to fit a specific theme, or have to include a certain element.
We know we have to design an encounter in round 4, and that we will be provided a selection of maps to use. What we don't know is if there will special elements or rules that we need to include in the encounter.
Best guess from past contests is round 3 = monster. Round 5 = adventure pitch.
