I can has access code, please?

Thanks!

I would also appreciate access. Quite interested in giving this a test run or 2.

I'd love a shot at this. Been looking for a possible replacement for herolab for friends who aren't quite invested enough to dump $30 in some software.

I'd be interested in access - thanks!

Liberty's Edge

I would be interested in an access code. Thank you. Great looking project. Good luck.

Silver Crusade 2/5

I'd love to try this out, if I could get an access code. Thanks! :)

Also interested.

Silver Crusade 2/5

This looks interesting. Would love a code to take a look.

:-)

Sovereign Court 2/5

I am very interested in testing this out, are you giving out codes still?

Do you plan on adding material from the four Unchained classes?

Berselius wrote:

Those are already in :)

Here's Jake and Lady Rainicorn as an Unchained Summoner.

Amiri as an Unchained Barbarian

Merisiel as an Unchained Rogue

Sajan as an Unchained Monk

Though we haven't yet visited the new errata - it is quite likely that we'll need to update to reflect the changes.

To those who have requested codes - I'll get some more out as soon as we can knock out Druid archetypes. I'm hoping later this week - there are a lot for this class and it depends on how complex the UI changes may be. So far it seems the spellcasting classes take significantly more time than martial classes with archetypes.

Sovereign Court 1/5

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Along with factoring in the various racial archetypes. Keep up the good work there Tabletop Giant (along with anyone else helping you)

Liberty's Edge

Mmmm. Yes I think this would be a good thing. Count me in.

This sounds like a wonderful idea. Sign me up!

I looked it over and am also interested in an access code if possible

Dark Archive

Also interested in an access code, this looks awesome.

Can I have an access code too?

My husband showed me your site and I really like it! We both thought it was super cool. If I could get an access code for myself, I would appreciate it! Thanks! (And thanks for taking the time to make Tabletop Giant Pathfinder Creator!)

Scarab Sages

This seems pretty handy! Mind if I get a code?

Looks very cool! Could I also get a code?

Hi NumenorKing - it looks like your PMs might be disabled. Send me a PM once it is enabled, and I'll be happy to send you a code as soon as I get it.

Thanks!

Alright - codes sent to all who asked! If I missed anyone, please accept my humble apologies and do let me know - I'll get you a code ASAP.

Annnnd - druid archetypes are UP! Another class down. Those nature folk sure have a lot of archetypes.

Edit: We also fixed the Two-World Magic trait, which was a bit of a pain. It actually caused us to rewrite how class spell lists are created - which is cool, but rewriting stuff does provide an opportunity to introduce brand new bugs. If anyone spots anything wrong with spell selection, that wasn't there before (or, even if it was) - let me know! We'll fix it.

Thanks!

Liberty's Edge

I'd love to try this.

What class has archetypes next?

Atragon had suggested Barbarians next and then Alchemists, which seems reasonable enough to me. At the same time I'm open to suggestions.

This looks highly interesting. I love character builders, and the news that this includes Unchained already is highly intriguing.

If you're still offering codes, I'd love one!

Sent :)

We also did (hopefully) fix a small bug with account creation, but there are sporadic instances with codes not properly redeeming. If anyone has any problems with a 'This code has already been used' message, shoot me a PM and we'll get it to work. I can just manually approve your account if necessary.

Thanks!

Do you intend on putting the Occult Adventures classes in after all of the archetypes?

JHiggs25 wrote:

After archetypes, one of the tasks that I absolutely want to see completed before the push to 20 is ingesting and implementing all remaining PFS legal material - which is a long winded way of saying "Yes".

We're missing other stuff from other sources besides Occult Adventures, and I want to get caught up before we shoot for 20. That way it will be easier to maintain as we go along.

Alrighty, played around a bit with the bard. Sorry I couldn't get to ya faster...

Looks like you still have Bardic Knowledge for the Dervish Dancer archetype, which is actually replaced with Fleet.

Without even looking at it - you're right. I do recall how Bardic Knowledge is implemented and it was a little wonky; in short, it is circumventing the check to see if it was replaced.

It's burger night and an episode of Archer needs to be watched - after that, I'll get that fixed :)

I sure was wrong; it was a deeper error than I had guessed. Dervish Dancers were getting short changed and didn't even *have* fleet.

The error was corrected and your Dervish Dancer should be better now. :)

Grand Lodge

You have my interest as well a Sir, please send me an access code (if still available), as I would like to make use of this "tool", time is a resource I am always in short supply

Oh, new issue! Seems like the weapon proficiency with the Dervish Dancer isn't kicking in with kukris.

It's starting to feel like the phone had rang while I was in the middle of coding this archetype and I lost my place.

But - fixed :) Kukris should be good to go now for Dervish Dancers.

Huzzah! I'll make a list of anything else tonight, after I get home from work.

Aside from a hurp-a-derr I had with caccount creation, been going well. No complaints, aside from a general feeling of "clunkiness".

Loving the "As smart as" part.

And a BIT of an unusual request...due to being on the right side of an Ent Draught, the guy I'm trying to make is 6ft. 10. I can't do that here, and while I understand why, it's a bit disappointing.

I can see us down the line opening up any limits on things such as weight and height up for homebrew games. Right now we're just focusing on PFS legal stuff to keep the scope sane.

I'll share a bit. Homebrew mode is in 'concept' mode - not at all implemented - and what I am imagining is an altered system where a player may add any feat/trait/class they desire to create whatever they want, by-passing any normal prerequisites (maybe only showing a warning), as well as enter in any stats or other descriptive information they may desire without many (or any) limits.

A very important branch of that will be AP mode - imagine the GM of an AP is also on Tabletop Giant, along with the other players. In AP mode, the GM will be able to view all the characters being created by all players, and will have an 'approve' or 'suspend' (or similarly worded) button/link, as well as a comment mechanism. This will allow the GM to approve builds for their campaign and provide easy feedback to the player. If the player modifies their character sheet, the GM will always be alerted that their sheet needs re-review so that they may approve it again. This way a GM can keep on top of what their players are doing with their characters.

Okay, more to the moment - a recent change that improved the readability of the code had the nasty side effect of making class spell lists take longer. I just added a caching mechanism which *should* make this a bit better. The cache does need to build which will happen by every day use. So far it seems to be helping though the responsiveness of spells is still a bit sluggish. Please do keep in mind that our server is not spectacular, and improving it to a dedicated server - which we really want to do (it just costs $$) - will likely do a lot to improve it as well.

Hello everyone,

Tabletop Giant is a new website which provides a way to make Pathfinder Society characters. It is available here: http://www.tabletopgiant.com.

As the site is in test mode, new users will need an access code in order to register. If you are interested in trying the site out, please post below and I'll PM you a code, likely within the next 24 hours. Once I have ten people, we will see how it goes, and will send out more codes as things appear more and more stable. Once things are solid (or, close enough), we will open the site to everyone.

I really hope this site sparks some interest - happy to answer...

If you are accepting people into the testing status, I am very interested in supplying feedback.

Things are running pretty sluggish today, and I just got a notice from our host that the VPS on which this site runs is having hard drive issues. There is going to be an 'emergency' migration to a new server sometime over the next few days.

When this happens we may have to go lights out for an indefinite amount of time. Hopefully - and there's a real chance for this - it'll go very well and downtime will be a few hours or so. But - it might be longer. It's just hard to predict what sort of things can go wrong in migrations.

So, if the site disappears sometime soon - don't be alarmed. We'll be back. It's all backed up and safe and it's just a matter of setting a new machine up.

On a side note I split up the Character Factory into 'User Submissions' and 'Iconics' for the moment, mostly so I can view everyone's awesome characters all in a line - at least those ones that were added to the Factory. It makes me happy.

Thanks!

I'll see if I can get a friend to draw up Auriea, so people can see how, ahem, special he is.

Liberty's Edge

If you're still allowing access, I'd love to take a look; I'm always excited to see a new way to generate characters, since I make more of them than I get to play them, as a general rule.

Scarab Sages

Is the website down for anyone else or is it a problem on my end?

Dark Archive 1/5

Can you give us a basic outline of what you have planned?

Right now I'd love to be able to edit chars > lvl 1 (mainly because my PFS char just levelled up :) ), but I don't want to bug you with stuff that's either on the list already or not planned at all :D

Okay - we're back alive! We were down with server issues for at least 24 hours. After a million and one emails with the hosting service, I believe things have been cleared up. A cursory review seems to suggest all is alive. Please do report any server hiccups.

Edit: it has come to my attention that the IP has not fully propagated across the globe. If the site still appears down for you, please just check back later. It should come up sometime within the next 24 hours if it is not already.

Glord Funkelhand wrote:

Conceptually, I would like to see a system in which a player may select all feats, spells, abilities, and so forth up to and including level 20. On the character sheet, I would like to see a 'current level' toggle which will control the level of the character sheet generated; meaning, you can build your character all the way to level 20, and then just print out sheets as you level. Also, all changes are editable - so you are free to change your mind with your selections. However, in "PFS Mode", these changes will be tracked and can be read by a GM...so be careful what you retro :)

The one thing not able to plan across levels will be equipment - the equipment you buy will always be your equipment across all levels. What is owned is static.

As far as a time table, that is pretty hard to predict. We are working on archetypes and it is fair to say that they are taking much longer than we had hoped. The Archives of Nethys has been fantastic in giving us data which helps a ton, but at the same time the UI changes required are pretty significant. That said - we'll get there. I'm very determined that we do and you'll rarely meet a person more stubborn.

After archetypes are completed, there are some tasks I want completed before beginning the 'push to 20' (my name for the big big task of making this a full level 20 character manager). Additional user support needs to be in place (e.g., user profiles, private messaging, ability to leave comments and ratings on builds). I would like to make a pass at a few other UI trouble spots. We also need to ingest all remaining PFS legal material before we start the push to 20, and the Archives of Nethys have kindly agreed to help with this, which should make it move fairly quickly.

After the push to 20, there are other things I'd like to do. I would like to see a 'Scenario Tracker' with your character in which you submit your completed PFS adventures, along with the gold and experience gained for each run. The application will then be able to determine your current "PFS" level based upon these entries, as well as what gold you have to spend and your fame and prestige levels. Additionally, I would like the system to automatically include any boons or other perks from the chronicles of completed scenarios automatically added to your character sheet, when appropriate. In 'PFS mode', you will only be able to buy items that you can afford with the fame earned from completing adventures; items unlocked through chronicle sheets can also be automatically unlocked in the shop once you have stated that the scenario has been played.

I would also like to see player "groups", in which players can link up with each other based upon geographical proximity (or other methods). Each group can have its own game planner, similar to others you've seen on the web. However, unlike other existing services, your character sheet would be attached to any game you commit to, allowing the GM involved to review your character BEFORE the game, as well as during (if they have a handy tablet to do so). Additionally, since the application keeps track of player completed scenarios, we also intend to have a 'Game Planner' tool which will list those scenarios which have not been played by the majority of group members, in order to help group leadership plan new events.

Some of these additions may sound very "big" - and they are. However, I feel that the hardest part of this project is the character manager itself, and that most of the hard work is behind us. Tentatively, I will say that the push to 20 should be an easier task than creating the initial level 1 builder. Additionally, adding logistical functions to facilitate play, such as a game planner, user groups, and so forth, is actually chocolate cake compared to the character manager itself. There is a reason game planners already exist on the web but a proper character manager does not - and that is because a character manager is a particularly hard thing to make.

This was all typed quickly and is (as requested) a pretty basic ramble of what is planned. I have other big ideas of how this project can grow well beyond the push to 20. However rough it is now, understand it is going to get better, and if I have my way it will never stop improving.

I'd appreciate a code to try this out

I can't help but keep wondering why you're set on "getting to 20" implemented when you're only initially implementing everything for PFS.

You bet - as well as for the others that asked. But, give me a few days. I'll get you a code in a PM :)

claudekennilol wrote:

Because the push to 20 task is going to solve the details of a number of design issues, and it is better that those are settled before we adapt to homebrew. Adding the flexibility of homebrew to an existing level 20 system will be far simpler than if we include it from scratch.

Or - maybe I misunderstood your question. Is the question regarding the fact that the great majority of PFS players only level to 12? If so, then I'll explain further. What will power the leveling is a sort of algorithmic engine that will use existing data to build the player character. Once this engine is in place, it will build any character level based upon the data involved. What I am saying is - if we can build an engine to power characters to 12, then it is nearly trivial to power them to 20. The 'hard part' will be creating this leveling engine to begin with. Those remaining eight levels of play will exist for completion as well as because they just won't be very difficult to do compared to the rest of it.

Hope that explains it better.

We've had some email snafus arise recently and I suspect it is due to the server migration we had on Sunday. If anyone tries to create an account, and they do not receive the confirmation email - please do PM me so that I can get it resolved. The issue is that some people appear to be not getting their confirmation emails.

I found a couple accounts that were created over the last couple of days that were not confirmed but looked quite legit - I went ahead and confirmed them manually. So, if you hit a bug creating an account - you should be good and can login now. Go ahead and try. If it still doesn't work please do PM me and I'll get it resolved.

Barbarian archetypes are next and are close - within a couple days they'll be up. After that, alchemists, and then - clerics? I think clerics will work nicely. I'm open to suggestions though.
