I feel obligated to point out that I have a book in my gaming collection entitled "16-1/2 Codpieces".
Bland overdescribed item, you still win against the "original" super-hero rip-off :-(

At around my 400th vote I started making one line summaries and reactions on items.
Over 60% of the comments so far include the phase "Good enough for a Book of Items, not quite Superstar"
I now question myself whether I truly understand what is being looked for... >.<

Grin ;)
I just saw a pairing between two items that were obliquely mentioned in posts I just read. That is creepy. Is the algorithm actually looking over my shoulder ?
Real disease item downvoted. And I really hope never to have to upvote it.
Item of "all my weapons" vs Item of "none of yours"
Ring of wedding vs Ring of metagaming (in the worst possible GM I hate you way)
Too many items doing strange things with souls (and no saves) IMO :-(
Overpowered item of gross, I still upvoted you :-/
I swear people this year have an unhealthy fascination with death and all things related
The black raven wrote: Real disease item downvoted. And I really hope never to have to upvote it. -There's actually more than one of those... One is way more obvious than the other.
-Same with racist items there's one that's clearly racist and two others that are only really racist in the same way that Drow are racist (dark skinned elves being the bad guys while of course the white elves are good aligned) which is a little more forgivable because strides have been made to make that less egregious.

I should do a pair based off the cat I've nicknamed Captain Floofaloons
Blandly-named sword of wordy blandness.
Ambrosia Slaad wrote: Does it have the Golden Pantaloons, Silver Pantaloons, and Bronze Pantalettes? Every year I vote and I vote, and every year I fail to see all three... no Big Metal Unit for me.
Hm, that's an interesting downside. Something of a inspired-by-history fantasy trope. But the way it's written? It can be kept in check with a supply of parchment. Given how mildly powered it is, maybe that's intended? I'll upvote you though. You're not a game-breaker.

After 3 years of Marathon+ voting here's what I'm seeing:
There's more middling items then previous years. I'm assuming this is primarily repeat contestants learning from the previous Critique my item threads and perhaps also from they themselves voting.
The quality of the upper middling end clear contender items is up, year after year.
This year there's a good deal more chafe in the queue, this is a good thing it prolly means less experienced people are entering and will learn and come back stronger next year. I try to remember when I see something unfortunate in voting that the designer will learn better. My first year item was not exactly awesome either.
Just had my first REALLY difficult decision. Two top-notch items side by side. Sat there for five minutes changing my mind several times. Had to up-vote one in the end as I absolutely refuse to use the big button. Many more pairings like that and I can forget reaching the dedicated tag - wouldn't mind though, as those two were pure pleasure :-)

Item that is a bookkeeping nightmare over an item that is only useful if you never are willing to get rid of it...
*sigh*

Granted; bequeathing your car would have been better, grammatically. :-P

Saw my own item! Opposed by a decently-interesting item, but my formatting was better, so I was content to pat myself on the back.

I see, you can impart the ability to do everything one of my characters can do - except better. Feeling somewhat redundant, I down-vote you :-(

Seeing a whole bunch of new items today. One sword was really good!
Despite your perfect formatting, you seem to have made an unfortunate mistake. They took that rule out when they made the change from 3.5 to Pathfinder. Which is a shame because that would have been great in the older edition.
OMG, you're a Goblin item without mentioning Goblin even once. And you're so good/cool you made it to my Keep list 0.0
Wondrous filigree !!! Downvoted :-)
I was reading and nodding along, right up until the point you developed a 2nd Ed. rule.
If your item only benefits a single class, do not be surprised that almost everyone downvotes it.

serpent poison vs serpent poison, sounds like a SIFI unoriginal.

I blame Mikko Kallio for making the snake theme so popular.

who are these mages/wizards that keep making these anti-spellcaster items?
I see you want me to make you the Ultimate Sword of Slaying Old Men with Beards? Let me see, that will run you about.... Disintegrate!
What a really interesting sword. I'll go ahead and vote for you.

Must be fighters with the Master Craftsman feat.
The black raven wrote: If your item only benefits a single class, do not be surprised that almost everyone downvotes it. I have to disagree with you. look at holy/unholy avengers and rods and staves and monk weapons and cleric scrolls and wizard scrolls and anything to do with channeling and magical instruments and any of a dozen items that effect sneak attack and monk robes and robe of the archmagi and any firearms and alchemist stuff and etc.... etc... etc.
Many of these are classic items which existed long before Pathfinder was a twinkle in it's mother's eye. Most named items that have been published are built with one to three classes in mind. I don't think that "almost everyone" will down vote these items automatically. I certainly won't unless it makes no sense that an item is delegated to suck for all but one class.
How about if I wear my Armor of Instant Revivification, Shield of Spell Storing and Turning, and +3 Glaive of Wizard Killing?
Not real items.
Luke use the force (this is not a reference to a weapon)

Yeah, but there is some difference between an item that benefits anyone with sneak attack (still a subset, but it includes rogues, ninja, certain alchemist and bard archetypes and some prestige classes) and something that only benefits "Rogues". Why exclude the other classes?
FINALLY saw the I-Hate-Bards item.
Understandable if they've had a run-in with a higher level big bad bard run by a wily GM.
