I was curious as to how much shenanigans I can get away with here. Doing pranks in villages is fun, but all over Golarion? Now that's the big leagues. Like the saying goes: If you can prank someone here, you can prank someone everywhere.

I find this insulting to my name. I do not have a surname because "Nature does not care for titles." so my parents say.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I can't remember. I grew up in a forest. My parents are druids.

I was once in a crowd escaping a prank. The guy clearly saw me, but couldn't tell me apart from the other commoners.

Killjoys, and owchies. Oh and getting my hands dirty (as in actually having to hurt something.)

They usually rely on me to make them champions over the misfortunate.

I wouldn't know what it's like to be one of those haughty elves, strange gnomes, or those smelly orcs. I'm just me. Why should my race make a difference? Are you one of those Aasimar supremists? *glare*

My adorable little lizard "Compy" dying. Sometimes, I worry if my parents are ok with my decisions. Such a dangerous world...

At one point in time (20 years ago), I used questionnaires like this to help my roleplaying group to flesh out their PCs.
Everyone answered and some even wrote out pages of extra back story. Funny this was that it didn't help anyone improve their roleplaying at all. It's almost like they wanted their back story to speak for them.
In truth most of the players were better off finding their PC organically. The odd players that always had bland PCs... are always going to have bland PCs. There's not much I could do to help them.
The last four characters I've made couldn't answer these questions at level 1, but by level 3 I could answer each question easily.

Family Tradition. My parents were both Pathfinders, my grandfather on my mother's side was, as was several other of her ancestors. <looks in the direction of the Wall of Names..where many of her family's members have their only gravemark >

No.. My last name is the family's legacy weapon..now long lost for centuries.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
The Grand Duchy of Alkenstar. I grew up learning the secrets of the gun, and alchemy, and learning that the role of the strong is to protect the weak and innocent. Freedom and Liberation is won over the sight of a gun, through the strength of your arms and the swiftness of your wits. Keeping it requires willpower, focus and knowledge.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I show my Varisian heritage well. I tend towards practical clothing like my tricorne hat, oiled duster and a well hidden mail shirt. I add what is needed for job, be that weather suitable clothing or, Cayden forbid, frills and frippery for blending in.
5. What do you love?
The open road. The thrill of finding something new or something long forgotten.

Aside from Venture-Captains with the initials D.D.? <laughs> Betrayal, abusers, rampant evil.

There are several I journey with often, I find almost any team I work with is worth watching over and aiding. As for rivals.. <smiles wryly with a hard dangerous look in her brown eyes> that typically requires I encounter them alive twice.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu? No, I let my experiences and the actions of others set how I react and treat others.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
None to speak of. That being said, yes.. I have encountered things that have left me shivering in my bed. On a side note, I believe the destruction of the Blackros Museum would greatly enhance the safety of Absalon and possible the entire world at large.

Cado Deus, Rakshasa Tiefling Sorcerer
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Being a Pathfinder provides the ultimate backstage pass to a wide variety of material and social resources all over the continent. While securing their interests they feed me travel possibilities and place me in key areas of influence.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Cado Deus is supposedly derived from a tongue found on a different plane (latin) meaning Fallen God. As my once pious mother was seduced corrupted and ultimately had her life destroyed by the actions of a demon, I suspect that the name is a sort of inside joke for him.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I spent my younger years in isolation from others, save for my mother, but after her....passing, I found my way to many cities of Qadira where the meat puppets will dance for a few choice words about opportunity almost as fast they will dance for coin.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
While my elliptical pupils and highly pronounced philtrum were apparently quite disturbing to people when I was young, neatly grooming my black lanugo and adorning myself in the threads of nobles seems to make others see me more as exotic than horrific. I abhor going into areas that would tarnish my elegance, but it is not an accident that I have found the power keep myself in the height of fashion in any environment.

To watch others bend to my will. Seeing someone, especially an obstacle, subjugate themselves to me is far more empowering than seeing them dispatched.

Manual labor and walking long distances. The sometimes tiresome "leaders" at the society sometimes find in necessary to expect the latter from me, but I can typically find my own means of traveling in a fashion much more to my standards.

There is a small circle that I trust with my life and will gladly put myself in their midst when the opportunity presents itself, but at the end of the day they are meat puppets as well, just reliable meat puppets.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
It is my birthright, while it very much suits me to behave as one of the common flock, I never forget what they are...simply common.

I don't know if I would use such words, but I know my place is manipulating the pawns at a distance or in a civil manner, I am loathe to engage in the common brutish means of dispute resolution, fists and weapons and such.

My mind and tongue in conjunction. Strip me of everything I own and I am still a god among men.

I just want to see the world, playing pranks, performing comedy, and spreading laughter all over. This seems like a good way to travel the world without having to have enough money to hire bodyguards. :)

I've always been a wanderer. I've lived in quite a few gnome villages, but also lived with taller races. I think this has made me very cosmopolitan, and helped me learn a lot of languages.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I have blue skin and wild green hair that sticks out in all directions. I usually wear a chain shirt under my brightly colored clothes. When adventuring, I also bring along a buckler and crossbow, for protection.

Laughter! I love laughing! I love making others laugh! Even if I sometimes have to resort to magic to get them to laugh against their will...

People with no sense of humor. I mean, sometimes I play a perfectly harmless prank on someone, and they pull out a weapon and threaten to gut me with it. Everyone else is standing there laughing, and I usually offer to buy my targets an ale afterward to show that it's all in fun, even if they don't get angry. But some people just don't know how to take a joke.

I'm still new to this whole Pathfinder thing. Haven't been on a mission yet. I hope they send me some place fun soon!

I'm very different from other gnomes. I have blue skin and green hair. I've known other blue skinned gnomes, and other green haired gnomes, but I've never met a blue and green gnome like me.
And I'm the best joker around. Sure, other gnomes can match my enthusiasm, but I'm really good at making people laugh. Better than anyone. Yet sometimes, after one of my jokes, some human or elf or dwarf with no sense of humor will roll their eyes and say something like "Typical gnome". I don't get it. I'm a much better joker than most gnomes, so how am I typical?

I have this recurring nightmare that I'm performing the gig of a lifetime. Like telling jokes for a king or queen or caeser or something. And I bomb. I mean really bomb. Not only does nobody laugh at my jokes, but I say the wrong thing and accidentally insult the big boss, so they order the guards to kill me for whatever it was I said wrong. It's different every time. Sometimes there's this queen who keeps yelling "Off with his head!"

My sexy good looks. *raises eyebrows suggestively, then bursts out laughing*

My goal in life is to experience as much of the world as possible! I want to go everywhere, and catalogue everything. Oddly, harvesting timber for my parent's mill offers a lot less by way of opportunity.

I grew up in Omesta, the greatest engineering marvel in all of Golarion, a city suspended over (and hence not trespassing upon) the elven lands within the great forest of Kyonin. I suppose the greatest thing about growing up where I did was the fact that so much of our daily lives involve gnomish ingenuity at its finest. Sure, gnomes are amazing every where you go, but have you seen Omesta? Seriously! It is a suspended city! I think that is why I love to fly.

Everyone things gnomes are gaudy and bright, so I try to prove them wrong! Why? Because it messes with their heads. I keep my violet hair perfectly wild looking. In reality, it takes me longer to get it right than it takes the wizard to memorize his spells in the morning. Sticks, twigs, ribbon, braids and thread are the basis of the amazing infra-structure. No matter how fast I fly, or how far I fall, my hair looks just like I want it to! I suppose when you are blessed with lilac skin tones, and violet hair and eyes, you should pay more attention than most to make a statement. But that is what they expect of a gnome! Never! Sure, I have my traditional Dilettante's outfit with everything I need at the ready. What self respecting gnome doesn't? I mean, they are like hope chests for human girls. it is not just an outfit, it is a way of life, and your life's story. But I digress! I wear plain grey woolen explorers clothes most of the time, but I always have my traditional gnomeish garb. I just prefer to keep the big folk off balance by dressing in grey! I have not yet had the spare wealth to afford several suits of extra clothing, but when I do... PURPLE! There are a million shades, and I want something in each one of the shades!

My Roc, Eponine. A lot of people love their animal companions like they love comfortable shoes or an the perfect stick they found. I love my companion like, banana. You know what I mean? Almost like humans obsession with their own children I suppose.

I haven't found anything to really really hate yet. Most of my kind hate giant, but I think they are kind of interesting. Snakes give me the willies, but I don't hate them. Sure I squish their evil little heads in with the biggest rock I can find, but that is common sense, not hatred.

Well, I just joined the Society, so right now I rely on me and my Roc. I suppose soon enough I will build a family here though. I would like to meet an Oracle, and a rogue. Not sure about Paladins. Believing that hard in something has to hurt.

Gnomes are too perfect for this world. Someday, we will find our way home again. Until then though, there should never be a time without fun, adventure, and fun! Oh I said fun twice. Meant to say it three times, can I start again? I don't think I am terribly stereotypical. I am a Sylvan, so I suppose that is a little cliche. A sorceress as well so even more cliche. But on the bright side I use illusions! Oh wait. Umm, I am small.. No wait! I know there is something non-gnome... wait. Why would anyone want to be something other than a gnome? How are we different? Well, we are smarter, prettier, more adaptive, more cunning, and in general more tolerant. Elves are very pretty as well, but they get sad. Not sure about humans. They just die soooo fast. Never even seen one hit a hundred. Must be hard to know every single year that passes could well be your last.

I am not afraid of snakes, I have good sense. They bite, they move without legs. They are creapy, and their heads should be caved in with rocks. Why are you bringing them up again?

My hair. I know that might not seem like a posession, but I built it. I grew it. It is rare, even for my kind, and I love it. Most things are kind of transient, but my hair is always with me. If I had to pick something else, my outfit. Not the grey one, that is for laughs. The dilettante's outfit. I have been building onto that since I was... well it reminds me of who I am and where I am going.

Martrel is my name, That is all you need to know(Ironically, i made this name up myself, but the GM told me last time that that is actually a name of a villian from a book series)

Cheliax, I grew up in the church to do my masters bidding, They called me slow, that i was too weak to serve cheliax(He has -2 int) I showed them when I shot an intruder from 30 yeards away square in the eyes with my bow.

He wears a longe overcoat, with a red lining throughout, a hood covers his head, with a long cape bearing the symbol of cheliax on it attached to the hood. He does not fear that people know he is from cheliax. Besides, they will never get close enough to see. When he opens his mouth, you can clearly see sharpened canines.

The calm serenity that comes from life, just sitting, comtemplating where our next move lies.

GAHHH!!! Where we you Yzarctihstab and Astoroth I declared the Blackros matrimony the Gnome Wedding crashers event. It was splendiforous. I could have used your guyses help in there on my personal mission of getting a Blackros daughter to fall in love with me because I am awesome and I deserve that. But I succeed in slipping her something to drink so she will love me forever, and it happened to be a Blackros mom. I can not tell those talls apart. Now us gnome pathfinders have that woman under a leash, my leash.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
The world is filled with problems that I cannot fix, at least not by myself, to that end I am looking for others to help me make the world a better place. I am really wondering if this society works for me, I have joined the Silver Crusade, and they seem to be a good lot, however the when I go on missions they seem to send a collection of less inspiring folk, more interested in power, fame, or money, than making the world a better place.

Kendella was just cool sounding name which started out ending in "ella", and just played around till it sounded good. Nightly, was originally Nightstar, but someone said that sounded too fictional, and suggested Nightly.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up in Absalom, in the Precipice Quarter, not a very nice place for those in the know. Having grown up very poor, and well small, she was well, lets just say she was victim of those bigger and stronger, she learned to fight, as much as to talk herself out of a situation. She has escaped the district, and acquired more wealth, but memories haunt her, and she tries to surround herself with those she trusts. She also loves all the things she didn't have as a youth, good food, good drink, and well nice belongings.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
My eyes are as orange as the sun, my hair runs the gambit of colors from stark colors like Black and White to all the colors of the rainbow from pale pastel shades to vibrant dark colors depending on my mood. I am pretty, and not afraid of showing it in better neighborhoods. I am currently sporting a Mithral chain shirt, hand forged by the elves of Kyonin, (girls size 3), I am not sure how well endowed young elves are, but it is a perfect fit! Although I do have a few spare outfits (and growing a collection) to change into depending on the circumstance.

Well, I love good food, good drink, and maybe love the parties held by the Lantern Lodge a little too much, they also do a wonderful tea ceremony, but I love parties. I was shocked the first party I went to, there was food, good food, just sitting there, and you could walk over and take it, it was actually encouraged, oh I so love parties! That being said, keeping myself down to 28 lbs is very important. Funny when I lived in the Precipice Quarter gaining weight was never an issue, now it is always a challenge. I love my mount and pet Layla, she is such a good dog. Oh and cloths, I love cloths, cloths without holes, cloths that aren't torn, cloths that keep you warm, and make you look beautiful. Shoes that fit, and haven't been already thrown out by someone already, beautiful shoes, practical shoes, boots that keep your feet warm. I love being a performer, I love to bang on my drums and have people clap, I love it when people stop and watch me dance.

The Precipice Quarter and everyone in it. I hate being hungry, I hate shivering in the cold, I hate throwing my guts up because that food I found was too rotten, I hate my cloths stinking because I threw up on them, I hate being sick, or poisoned, or both. I hate people who steal things from you because they are bigger and stronger. I hate people who feel they can do whatever they want with you just because you are smaller and weaker. I hate rats, I hate it when they crawl on you when you are sleeping, I hate it when they bite you, I even hate having to eat them. I hate the fact than all humans assume a halfling is a thief. I hate having to buy clothing in child sizes. I also have a lesser hate for human building with their giant stairs, and furniture you have to climb up to sit on, or chairs you have to stand in, if you are going to eat off the table.

Funny thing about this Society, is that it seems every time they call me in to go on a mission, there is a different group of people to travel with. Their is a roguish character, that have been on the last few adventures, but don't really have much of a relationship with him, although he did help me recover the body of a fallen pathfinder, yea, I would call him a friend. Largely I rely on myself, who else can you count on, who else do you know will not betray you. Just when you think you have found people you can trust, they abandon you, and you are left at a feast alone, with a big old bottle of wine for one.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most halflings?
Well, I have to say I am to a large degree the stereotype of a halfling, I love good food, good drink, and music and dancing. I never really thought about how much a a stereotype I am, but then again, why be a halfling, if you are not going to be a halfling. Next thing you know there are going to be good drow characters.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Well I had been afraid that one day I would wake up shivering in the ruins of the Precipice Quarter and this is all a dream, brought on by delusional sickness from eating bad food. (PS If you kill a crow and are going to eat it, cook it first .... Don't ask) Actually I am still worried about that.
However now I am worried, after the group I was traveling with, left a pathfinder laying in the rubble, like discarded trash, that one day, I am going to die, and the people I am traveling with are going discard my corpse in the ditch, like garbage. How will Chaldira Zuzaristan find my soul, if I am laying in a ditch?

Well, my life, I am very happy with my life now, oh that isn't a possession . . . Well I love my dog, but if I can't count him either then I will go with my new mithral shirt, look at how shiny it is!

Having obligated myself to escape the cesspools I grew up in, I can't right say I even recall the name of my home nation. The wizard who paid to train me was located in the city of the Magi.

I garb myself in a variety of dark leathers and dulled metals to secure my image from the eyes of my foes.

Love? A peculiar concept for one such as I. I suppose the closest thing to something I may love is looking into the eyes of a tyrant or oppressor as their fear turns into the realization that they are now the victim.

Simple, any person who believes they have the right to hold power over another.

I'm a bit of a lone wolf. I suppose as long as someone is willing to draw my foes attention from me then I shall capitalize on the situation to our mutual benefit. However, boisterous personalities are often at oddes with me.

I suppose as a stereotypical human I wouldn't have the acceptance of mortality that brings so much certainty to my strikes, or so much surety to my decisions.

Fire. I'll have no quarter with the reckless use of those who weild influence over such a monstrous element. I've certainly appropriated my wrath toward many for lesser offense.

My cloak, it is both my namesake (Rathis Darkcloak) and my safety net. The ability to become ethereal is not one that I could easily turn my back on.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
It offered the best opportunity to get what a I needed: skills, training, and a chance to travel the world and seek my father's killers.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
My dad was a gunsmith, thus the "Smith" half of my name. "Wesson" is the Common approximation of my mother's elven name.
Some people think it's funny for some reason, though I can't imagine why.

Andoran. I value freedom, personal or systemic, and despise slavers and those who think they own slaves.

I've got my mother's hair - fire red - and her pale elven complexion. My eyes are blue, like winter ice. I think I get the smattering of freckles across my nose and cheeks from my dad.
In the field I dress in a mithral chain shirt, a motley collection of patched and worn travel clothes, a road-dusty leather coat, and an Andoren tricorn hat decorated with many trophies and trinkets from my travels.
The only difference between the field and the city is how clean my gear is. I dress as I wish, not to appease someone else's sense of style or decorum.

I love my dad, but he's dead. It's the reason I joined the society, to gain the training and skills needed to track down his killers.
I love my mother, but we never really got along. After dad died there wasn't much reason to stay, so I didn't.
I love my "sister from another mister", Yara. We've grew up together. Our fathers were both on the same caravan and taken in by the elves at the same time. She's always looked out for my soul and I try to keep her body in one piece. Personally, I think I got the easier part of the deal.

Slavers and those who infringe upon the freedom of others. we all must walk a path of our own choosing.
I can't stand laws and rules. They're little more than codified ways to control others.

Yara, of course. She's the one who inspired me to join the society and has had my back more times than I can count.
In general, if I can't rely on a Pathfinder I won't work with them. Every single person I've worked with is someone I'd risk my life for, even the few who I suspect wouldn't return the sentiment.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I've never really felt "elven", if that makes in sense. Even though I look a lot like my mother - pale skin, read hair, pointed ears - I always felt more human, like my dad. I always wished I had his dark skin and golden eyes.
I hate the idea that one race is "better" than another.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I have no problem being by myself, but the thought of being alone, as in there being no one else in the world who cares for me or misses me when I'm not there, terrifies me.

My gun. Well, my first gun. It's old, battered, and not particularly well-made, but it's the one I built with my dad before he died. I think he was always disappointed I didn't show much interest in following in his footsteps as a gunsmith. I was always more interested in shooting guns than making them.
I always thought dad scrapped it, but he had it with him when he was killed. One of the men who murdered him took it. I took it back and shot the bastard with it. My first kill. I won't rest till I've found out every last member of the gang and killed them all.

I grew up in the desert, mostly around humans. Their lives are so short - they should never have to be enslaved. I learned quickly that the weak don't live long, even by human standards.

I am 6' 1" tall, medium build. I have a black dragon tattoo on my left forearm. I have blue eyes and white air.

Well, you say treasure does not count, but I do like to spend gold to buy jewelry. I am a bit of a magpie. And we must not forget ale, especially dwarvish stout and Cayleanbrew. Other elves seem to look at me askance for these preferences.

I work with whichever Pathfinders happen to be on the same mission. I still feel bad about the time I lobbed a flask of alchemist fire at a construct and hit Avol the paladin as well. I usually try to arrange a "buddy" to get opposite me against an enemy.

I am one of the Forlorn. I prefer to avoid close friendships with humans or halflings because they die so quickly, but I am not accustomed to the company of other elves. I don't want to talk about dwarves or those little weirdos.

I hate the thought of being unprepared. I try to have something useful in any emergency.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
When I was initiated into the Cavalier Order, I dedicated my life to protecting the innocents from the vile things that lurk in the darkness. Pathfinder Society gave me an opportunity to expand my sphere of influence and my radius of operations. Cavalier Orders in my nation take their work seriously and they are getting the job done, but this was a chance to strike against evil on a much larger scale. I can now actively seek out lairs of the fiends with the help of capable and versatile companions and bring the battle to them.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Earth mythology? Popular culture? What wizardry is this? I am Thaddeus Kromwell and I wear my name with pride. It is one of the few things that still connect me to some of the people I've lost in the past.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up in a little village in Lastwall. It was a good life. For a while. Lastwall is a place where a son of a farmer can become a knight, a crusader, a cavalier, someone who can make a difference, and for that, I'll always swear allegiance to Vigil and Lastwall, wherever I may roam.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I'm not what you might call handsome. I might've been once, but I am 47 years old now, I've spent the last 30 years fighting, organizing rescue missions and charging after one monster or another. And I'm far from done. But such a life will reward you with a broken nose, cuts and bruises, and your body will be a map of scars and old wounds. Still, being just a centimeter shy of a full two meters will still leave you with somewhat of a commanding presence. My hair and moustache are still mostly black, which, some folks have been known to say, compliments my grey eyes. I wear either scaled or full plate armor, and you'd be crazy not to in my line of work. Of course, when I'm forced to skulk through the regions with hot or cold extremes, I'll modify my attire. My trusty steed Vigil – named after a city where I've learned everything I know - is always there for me to hang my steel breastplate on and don something lighter. Or warmer.
5. What do you love?
I'd say I love my work, but it's closer to the truth to say that I've almost become addicted to it. It's what keeps me going. I tried life on the farm, didn't work out. Soldiering is all I've ever been good at. I do draw some satisfaction from planting my mace on top of a demon's skull with a resounding thud. And it feels good to live to talk about it. Riding relaxes me, I guess. My mount and I understand each other perfectly. Sharing a drink after a fight with your comrades – also one of life's little pleasures. Also, I do consider myself a bit of a history buff. People think I'm a bit on the oafish side because of my constitution, but that's their loss - I actually love reading historical texts, visiting monuments and collecting artefacts from my travels.
6. What do you hate?
Creatures that derive joy from the misery of others. Thieves that take from the less fortunate. Tyrants and arrogant people. Also, I don't really like magic. Eradicating evil magic users is something of a hobby of mine, because they tend to combine all these particulars I just mentioned. Not too big on tech and science, also, but I'll not actively seek to destroy it. Siege weapons, balistas and an occassional powder keg – all good, but I'm actually drawing a line here. You won't catch me using a firearm. God forbid prancing around in some sort of self-propelled apparatus. Unless it's a ship, although I'm not too fond of them as well. Give me a hammer, a sword, a shield and a solid piece of armor and watch me go. If I have my mount beneath me, all the better.

I can work wonders with a squad or a regiment, and that's what I was used to before I tried my hand at cooperating with Pathfinders. As long as they follow orders, I have no problem with them. I'm not above following orders myself, if they make sense, and I'll follow a good leader and a capable tactician to the gates of the Abyss.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
It was always more about my profession than my race for me. I have Chelish roots, which one can probably tell from my pale skin, and I've lived most of my life in Lastwall, but I don't think my heritage moulded me in any profound way. What I've learned during my life and my career, that's another matter entirely. My loyalty to the tenets of a Cavalier order defines me.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I dread the day when I won't be able to be self-sufficient. My contempt towards magic, tech and science probably stems from the fact that I've earned everything I have with my own two hands. I've always been self-reliant. I don't need the favor of the gods, or the eldritch energies to define my destiny. I just need my wits, my will, my reason and my body to carve my path in this world. I wouldn't want to lose any of that, but as you can see, I won't live my life beneath a rock to protect that. I will keep throwing myself against the challenges I deem worthy, and what must happen will happen. Maybe the only thing I fear worse than losing my faculties is not doing all I can with what has been given me.

I am Mo-Shok-Nah, of the iron-arrow monastery. I am a decent arrowmaster, but a poor student of meditation. What is this Earth? do you mean for planting? I am a poor farmer, but my cousin is quite good. I can write a letter of introduction should you wish. You should know that he only speaks civilized languages, so you should probably consider how your choice of phrase in Common will translate into Tien.

Xa Hoi, of course. My father was a tradesman, and after my complete failure in my studies, I was sold to the monastery while my elder brother was given control of the family business. I still regret my inability to comprehend fractions, as I am now forced to shoot nightmares in sewers to make my living.

I wear the robes of my order. I shave my head, to keep my hair from becoming infested in the vermin that infest these foreign cities.

My race matters not. Only my culture, and nation's history, influence my actions. I am a breeze in the wind. Although I would have preferred to be merchant... Nevermind, we already talked of that.

I worry from time to time that my brother might not be completely suited to the task of running our family's store. However that matters not! I have a duty to attend to. Aside from vampires, who remind me of my elementary school instructor, I fear no evil. However, I do worry that one day I will fail in my mission, and bring dishonor to the Lantern Lodge, and my order.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My pocket watch. It was a gift from my father, given when I was sold to the Monastery. It has taken its beatings (as have I), but it still continues to function for its master.

Tiefling Wizard
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Because it allows me access to greater wealth & knowledge, while providing a myriad of handy companions to stand between me and whatever is... guarding said wealth and knowledge. Since joining, I've acquired several magical items and even an artifact in addition to a healthy paycheck.

Barney Blackfinger is the name, conjuration and illusion is the game. I'm a Tiefling, if the horns and tail didn't give it away. (Blackfinger was the last name of another Tiefling I played in 4th edition, I figure they're cousins or something)
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Born and raised in the puddles district of Absalom. As a result, magic is more about survival to me than an academic pursuit. Also tends to effect my personality I expect. I'm more at home in a dive bar or a “temple” of Calistra than a wizard's tower and my cockey accent has annoyed more than a few upper crusted types I've come across. Additionally, growing up on the streets meant that sometimes my survival came at the price of another's. While I have no problem working as a member of a team, I wouldn't have a moral dilemma about casting invisibility and teleporting to safety when things go pear shaped.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Pale skinned with dark reddish hair, amber horns and a prehensile tail that gets me both in and out of trouble. Mostly light robes and tight breeches, preferably no shirt unless it's cold. Gotta have something for the ladies eh? On occasion, I've been known to adapt my clothing to more hostile environments, though I'd just as soon use a spell to get the job done.

Something of a hedonist you might say. Good drink, comfortable clothing, and... enthusiastic companionship if you know what I mean. I mostly prefer the finer sex, though I've been known to dabble. When dungeon crawling, I'm usually keeping an eye out for interesting tomes or artifacts. They say knowledge is power and it's especially true for a wizard. Plus, the Ruby Prince pays handsomely for the odd bit of information from time to time. I also enjoy using spells in creative ways outside of combat. Grease in particular has a number of humorous applications in social situations.

I'm fairly laid back, but I to tend to get rather annoyed when someone talks down to me or assumes I'm unintelligent because of my demeanor. Just because I can hold my whiskey and spend allot of time perusing houses of ill repute doesn't make me a moron. It just means I've got my priorities straight. Assuming I'm incompetent or treating me like dirt is a quick way to get a flaming sphere up the arse.

I tend to hop around quite a bit, rarely making any lasting partnerships. There are however, a few pathfinders I've come to know a little better and would happily work along side of. Pappy is a crotchety old bastard who foolishly prefers divine magic over arcane. Still, he's useful to have around when you're bleeding out in some gods-forsaken dungeon. Lilen is a tiefling like me, though that is where the similarities end I'm afraid. Whereas I'm charming and quite likable, she's a half mad fiend perpetually out for blood. Initially I considered her a possible target of my advances, until I heard about how she once bit an ogre zombie out of spite. I'll dip my quill in most ink pots I find, but even I have to draw the line somewhere.

When it comes to race, you can't hope for better than a Tiefling. Sure, some of the more common peoples might see my heritage as something negative, but I shrug it off as an inability of their tiny, non-Tiefling brains failing to grasp the true majesty of this paragon of bloodlines. We can see in the dark, we have prehensile tails, and nearly every one of our females is dripping with pure sex appeal. All in all, it's probably just jealousy that makes other races distrustful. In more practical terms, I'm sure my natural affinity for darkness has influenced my arcane path. Conjuration and illusion seem like a natural choice to someone born with the ability to summon darkness at will.

Not much. I'm of the “live fast, die hard, and leave a smoldering corpse” school of thought. On a more practical level, since my connection to arcane magic is such a large part of who I am, the thought of losing or being cut off from it is pretty unsettling. I was nearly killed a while back by a bard who blinded and silenced me. Nothing more useless than a mage who can't see or cast.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
I spent all of my childhood idolizing the halfling knights of the Order of the Paw. I used to hear stories of their forays into the forests, slaying bugbears and defeating even the largest opponents with their glorious armoured charge.
I served well as a squire, and was taken up in training by a group of Silver Crusade knights, heading to the Mwangi. What happened next was... difficult. I'd rather not speak of it.
When I returned, seven years later, I could not bear to join another platoon. For one thing, it was hard to place trust in my fellow soldiers, or to acquiesce to command. The Pathfinders were the last place that'd have me.

I know not what you mean, sir. [cough, cough, yes.]

I lived in the agricultural outreaches of Ridonport, Taldor. Any boy who has spent any amount of time there can tell you the place glows with the legacy of General Arnisant, slayer of the Whispering Tyrant. Stories and heroism are born in that land, as well as many fine ales.

I do not really have the time for mirrors anymore. I rarely did before the time in the Mwangi. I used to be quite trim, but lately it's all gone to hell. I have a thick brown beard and wild hair. I have a cured lizard skin that I drape over my old breastplate. My pants are warm and dry, and doesn't have too many holes in them yet. I prefer to remain barefoot.
I don't think my mental image of myself and the real image fit together, to be honest. I see myself as a fair amount taller and stronger than I actually appear. I have learnt to live with that.
5. What do you love?
I like the contented silence - where nothing needs to be said, the belly is full and there are no nagging doubts. I used to experience it as I sat up in a tree, whittling a spear as the moon descended over the mangroves. I still feel it as I sit by the glass windows and check the stars are all still there over the rooftops. This experience can link us with the animals, and it's the closest way to make a connection between a steed and the riding knight.
6. What do you hate?
Greed and self-interest. Nothing destroys the world faster than someone with a destructive agenda. If half of us opened our eyes and regarded the world in it's true form and abandoned our silly agendas, we could begin fixing the place up.

Ragnar the Witch scared me when I first saw him, but he's oddly the most kind human I've seen. At least, the most kind arcanist. He constantly reminds me of the valour of my ancestors, which is odd, as I am 90% sure most of them were Turnip Farmers.
Torgar the Paladin is a beacon of righteousness! He is always quick to dismiss the evil path, and for that, I salute him.
Telathel the elf Monk is very fast and beautiful, if not a bit gangly. She is very different to all the halfling women I've met but her efforts for the Crusade match my own.
Elesar the elven ranger is a grim and dirty sort of chap. I've heard some discouraging rumours about what he gets up to when he's not on a mission. I don't trust him at all - except when he's leading us through the wilds.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race?
I must be braver than anyone else in our group, for if the 'little man' does not flee, then they will be damned if they run first. I think the elves complain when I stop the group for tea, supper and the other pleasantries of picnics on a hike. I enjoy the halfling's leaf and partake of it if I must be alone with my thoughts. I know the ways of the farmer, and that of the simple folk, who often know far more than the nobleman up on the hill.
The world is very cruel to the smaller folk, and I hope my example can encourage more halfling lads to take up their lance.

I am scared of House Thrune and the Hellknights. I try to be brave when they are around, but ugh. They are ghastly folks. They have lost touch with everything that is pure and right in the world. Worse yet, their example has shown me what happens when the oaths of military service overwhelm the individual. I don't think I've ever been comfortable with full armour ever since I saw them march in Absalom. Terrible people.

I suppose you know me well enough to see the better half then. Sit very still and don't make any sudden noises.
Sir Hendricks pulls a dripping chunk of meat out of his saddle bag and lays it on the grass. A juvenile dinosaur leaps out of the bushes and becomes a red blur as it charges the meat. It lets out a rattling roar as the gore drips down it's fangs.
Down Sue! Down! Sue, roll over!
The dinosaur stops moving and regards the halfling with green reptilian eyes. It hoots affectionately and nuzzles him. Red scales turn into orange horned ridges on it's skull and spine. It's easily big enough to swallow the halfling whole if it wanted.

OOC: This thread needs to be revived. I've previously answered as 10 of my characters, but I'm actually up to 14 Society PCs, so I should answer with the two older ones that I never got around to, as well as the two newest. This is actually my second oldest PC, but her personality isn't quite as interesting as some of the others, so answering these questions took a little more thought.
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
My father's a Pathfinder, as a paladin. And my big sister, Catherine, who's also a paladin (see earlier post in this thread). And my younger brother, who is a... *sigh*... barbarian.
I was raised to respect the good and noble gods, but I was always more attracted to the stories of Sarenrae offering redemption to those who sought it, rather than my family's traditional patrons of Aroden and Iomedae. So I studied in the Temple of Sarenrae, and became a priestess. I decided I could do more good in the world by going out adventuring like the paladins in my family than staying home at the temple in Absalom that has plenty of clerics already, so here I am.

My full name is Isabella Maria Victoria Brightsword, which I've heard is similar to the names from some of the cultures of that distant world, but I know of nobody else who has that full name.

My father was a Pathfinder based in Absalom, so my family grew up there. Being able to study using the Pathfinder's library and visit the great Temple of Sarenrae in the city helped me become the woman I am today.

I have blonde hair and blue eyes like most of my family. I think my sister, Catherine, is prettier than me, but I'm happy with the way I look, anyway. I have a mithral breastplate, buckler, and scimitar that I use when adventuring, but I also have priestly vestments and some pretty dresses that I wear, depending on the occasion.

Helping those in need. Spreading the blessings of the Dawnflower to all corners of Golarion, and possibly beyond. My brother actually left Golarion once, and visited another planet. I'd be curious to see such a place some day.

Seeing good people die. No offense to Pharasma, of course, as I understand the cycle of life is necessary, but I've died twice myself, and seen... oh my, I've lost count, but at least 6 other Pathfinders have died while I've been on missions with them. The fact that I've actually lost count makes me very sad.
Most were able to be revived from the dead shortly after their deaths, as I obviously was both times I visited Pharasma's realm. But there was one, a kind cleric/wizard, who I wasn't able to save, and couldn't be revived. Soon, I'll be strong enough to case the spells to save my fellow Pathfinders from death myself, so that should hopefully help me to protect my comrades in arms from meeting Pharasma too soon.

I've worked with many good Pathfinders over the years. As I mentioned, eldest sister and younger brother are both Pathfinders, though oddly, we've never been assigned to a mission together. I suspect my father, as a retired Pathfinder and current advisor to the Society, thought it would be too difficult for us to work together and advise Venture-Captain Valsin to never assign us to the same mission.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Humans vary so much. Are there stereotypes for our race? I have been called "typical" for a holy priestess, though, mostly from other Pathfinders who wish to torture or kill prisoners against my objections. I think if I'm called "typical" for a preistess of Sarenrae for being good and noble, and offering prisoners a chance at redemption, then it means I'm doing my job well!
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
As I said, I've seen so much death that I worry about myself and my fellow Pathfinders on missions.

To see the world, make my fortune, woo beautiful women, and maybe stop some evil if it happens to come up. I'm just too restless a guy to sit still for too long. This seems like a fun adventure.

OOC: Hoshi is Japanese for star, and Daisho is Japanese, literally meaning "big-little", representing the two weapon fighting style of using a katana and wakazashi

I moved around a lot, in various nations of Tian Xia. I settled down in Amanandar for a bit, and even joined their militia to gain permanent citizenship. That's where I learned some of my fighting skills.

I'm a really foxy guy. No, really. I look like a bipedal fox with reddish brown fur all over, wearing light armor, a pair of wakizashis, and some shurikens on my belt. But I'm a kitsune first, and a ninja second. None of that head to toe black outfits for me. I like to be seen, except for a few seconds here and there when I'm sneaking up on an enemy in battle.
At least, that's what I look like in a battle. I've found that in social settings, it's sometimes best to pretend to be human, which I'm quite good at.

Well, I respect Amara Li, who recruited me. I haven't seen her since she left Absalom. I haven't been back to Tian Xia in a while.

I don't know about my race, but I'm certainly not a stereotypical ninja. The word "silent" isn't in my vocabulary. I've had people complain that I just won't shut up.

I originally joined the Society, because I was desperate. From my schooling, I knew enough about Alchemy and Chirurgey to get by, but that's not what I wanted. I mean, I left home and traveled half-way around the world, to, I don't know, live my own life.
Ya know, now that I'm saying all this, I realize how much of an idiot I really was. I could have stayed home, lived a comfortable life, not been eaten by a demon, not dragged my sister into this life, not lie awake wondering if any of the... the... ya know, I don't even remember how many people I've killed. What kind of a person does that make me?

I'm sorry for the digression, lets get back to your original question.
I originally joined the Society because I was broke and desperate.
I stayed because the ideals of the Shadow Lodge resonated with me, I wanted uphold the rules, and make sure those in authority upheld them as well.
Following Torch's betrayal, things got bad for me. I was only at Nerosyn to have one last party, courtesy of the Pathfinder Society. I'm guessing you know how that went.
After that, things were different for me, I had an enemy. I realized, that even though the Lodge was gone, our goals were still achievable. Even if no one else was willing to help me, I could still try to get everyone home safe.

Name's Micheal Schwartz. Most people call be Camden. Don't know if there's anyone else with that name, don't really care.

Grew up in Cheliax. I'm not a diabolist, if that's what you're asking, but I do believe in the importance of law and order. Without codes of conduct, we're no better than the demons.

I've got black hair, blue eyes, pretty common appearance. I generally wear plain, yet sturdy clothing, and a vest with a few pockets for medical supplies. I learned how to make potions of Endure Elements a while back, so I'm comfortable regardless of the weather. As for gear I always carry a pistol on my hip, a bandolier of ammunition on my chest, and a set of celestial armor under my clothes. If I'm expecting trouble, I've got buckler.

Interesting question. Where I grew up, most of the people I ran into were humans. We had the occasional Half-Elf, Halfing, Dwarf, or Tiefling, but mostly humans. So, walking into the briefing room and seeing three aasimars, and an Oread sitting at the table, is still a bit surprising for me.
Is there really a stereotypical human? I mean, we're literally everywhere.

My surname especially is a name with some pedigree in Cheliax. My family, the Henderthanes, were once the primary arms suppliers of House Thrune. The misfortune that has fallen on the primary patriarch of our House and his offspring is one of the reasons I joined the Pathfinder Society. My father raises mounts for the Chelish army, and is one reason that my training started as a cavalry soldier, and he still helps send me a new mount when something happens to my current one. I have since joining the society added many titles to my name including: Marquise of Taldor, Hellknight of the Order of the Chain, and Eagle Knight of Andoran. I plan to one day add Venture-Captain to my growing list of titles.

Cheliax, my early education was provided by the Church of Asmodeus. My education has influenced my desire to join the Hellknights greatly, as well as influencing my world views on many points.

I am a beautiful Cheliaxian woman of average height and weight with fiery red hair and green eyes. I am most commonly found wearing my blood-red Hellknight Plate, though it sometimes appears without its spikes or as a wonderful evening gown, as it is glamoured. I also wear a lavish gold unholy symbol of Asmodeus. I also enjoy wearing my extremely fashionable noble's finery when in a more relaxed environment. Much of my wardrobe is designed to work with my very lovely boots of the cat.

I love myself first, my fame second, and power third. I also love seeing fear in my enemies eyes, and lust in the eyes of those that might enjoy my company.

[i]I have many stanch allies that I have worked with during my time as a pathfinder. First Zarta has brought me in and provided many opportunities for increasing my fame and prestige, and I have repaid her with rescue from Hell. Rarty a mystic thurge has accompanied me on many missions and we have certainly enjoyed our time afterward as well, though I find it strange that she seems to always want to include my horses in such activities. She saved my life in perhaps my most difficult encounter to date, by making a mighty sacrifice. Most of those I work with don't really respect me as much as I would expect, but they have proven to be stanch companions many times.

I was raised to believe that humans are the most deserving of respect and have lived much of my life with this belief, though many of my companions in the Society have proven to be stanch allies despite their often less than pure blood.

My biggest fear is being forgotten. I worry about not being remembered after I die, or suffering a pointless death without glory.

My most treasured possession is my life, but after that it would be my command of Fangwood Keep. Physical possesions that I treasure include my shield, Glorymane, my Hellknight Plate, and my Knight-Inheritor's Ring (a gift from my beloved Paracountess).

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
It was a long road to joining the society, and one I'd never planned to take. I spent my youth training to follow in my father's footsteps, patrolling the edges of the Kyonin forest known as the Tanglebriar. As part of our training, many of us were sent to the edge of the Worldwound in order to serve as scouts while learning more of the demonic threats facing this world. At the end of a few decades we would return to Kyonin to take our place at the Tanglebriar, and putting our learning to use. Unfortunately, this is not how my life played out. The crusader city of Drezen, where I was undertaking my training was attacked and taken by demons. In my fear, I did not return from my patrol to join the city, instead, I fled to Mendev, a shame I've lived with for almost a century. In that time I've moved from profession to profession and country to country...but I've never been able to find any place to distance myself enough from the failings of my youth. Although I am no longer worthy of the title of crusader, and organization of thugs, grave robbers, and slavers is willing to take the fight to the demons, perhaps they can be my path to redemption.

Galrandaedir roughly translates in the Taldan tough spoken by most humans as the light that walks in shadow. Most humans typically shorten the name to Galran, something I've come to accept, especially as it gives me some distance from my name of the past.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up in Kyonin among my people, and training to become one of the wardens of the Tanglebriar. The knowledge I have of demons and my hatred of them both started in my time there. However, compared to human timeframes, I have "grown up" many times, having almost a century between me and my childhood in Kyonin. I've spent many years in placed like Cheliax, Andoran, Qadira, the northlands, and Abselom, and each place has left a mark on what I am today. For example, I've embraced the values of freedom espoused by the Andorans, which has put me at odds with peoples of Cheliax and Qadira on many occasions.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I am told that although the black of my hair is a trait of my family, it isn't all that common among the elves of Kyonin. However, I've heard many say that my green eyes mark me as an elf of the woodlands.
I pack extremely light in my travels. What I can not fit in my quiver or my belt pouch, I will just need to learn to live without, finding what I need to provide for myself along the path. I wear a mithral breastplate for battle, and since being knighted and holding rank with the Andorans, I can often get away with wearing my armor as part of a "uniform" on more formal occasions, which actually ended up being very fortunate at a wedding once.
5. What do you love?
Freedom in it's many aspects. I've been free to travel the world for almost a century. I strive to bring this freedom to others, whether it be slaves under the foot of a nation, or a nation under the foot of demons. I always will have a place for the underdog and the disadvantaged.

Demons is the obvious answer, and one that I don't need to go into in depth.
Whoever said that the enemy of my enemy is my friend is a fool. Unfortunately, there are many fools in the pathfinder society... fools who believe that bringing the devil worshipping slavers of Cheliax into the fold is a boon to the society. Corruption, even among those who fought for higher ideals was the greatest enemy of the Mendevian crusades. In the Cheliax, corruption is obvious, and they foolishly cavort with beings far more powerful than themselves, believing that they are equals. Much like corrupt men are the biggest enemy of the crusades, the pathfinder society openly courting the corrupt invites it's own downfall.

I've found pathfinders to be a rather unreliable lot overall. Most seem less interested in stopping an evil from doing harm, and more interested in stripping the corpse of the foe we stopped, along with their victims. Were it not for the need for these soldiers in the campaign against the demons, I'd more likely be fighting against them than with them.
Of particular note is the large number of Cheliax, and especially devil-spawn that are numbered among the society. I've even found myself fighting alongside a hellknight on several occasions. He seems to believe all the propaganda of Cheliax at face value, showing the naivity that I find common among those indoctrinated by the Cheliax...fine tools for the archdevils...a danger to the rest of us.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most elves?
Due to the lenght of my life, I've seen much more in this world than most humans get the chance. I've lived half my life away from my people, so I've been influenced as much by others as by my homeland.

At Drezen, a demon was not likely what you would see that would bring your doom...it was the insects. Locusts and Wasps blackening the whole horizon, swarms of sizes likely never seen away from the Worldwound. I can still see how the vile things would cover a man and rip the flesh from his bones. For some reason, even when I got away from the Worldwound, from Absalom to Osirion, swarms of these things still plague me to this day.
However, my greatest fear is that when the time I have a chance to redeem myself arrives, I will repeat my actions of Drezen, running in fear as others die to the evils of the Abyss.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
I still wear the crusader's cross from when I searved at Drezen, although very few would ever know it. Some day, it will identify my body. Perhaps word will get back to my people and my family, and hopefully, I will have done enough honor to my name to outweight the shame of Drezen.

I keep my brown hair in a long, tidy, braid to keep it out of the way. I have a standard guards mace, sword and crossbow to be ready for anything. Before I started adventuring I got spikes attached to my shield to give my bashes a bit more oomph. Thanks to payouts from the Pathfinder Society I've recently purchased some master-worked full plate which is quite an improvement on my shabby old guards scale mail.

In my adventures so far I've made friends with a lizard-druid named Rakshada. Her healing abilities and sharp claws have proved helpful more then once.

I think I'm stereotypical guard more than anything. You're dodgey until proven good in my books and I'm not above using my intimidating demeanor to get my way. I don't consider myself racist, anyone can be a crook, but elves seems so lofty and snobby and that gets on my nerves.

I'm most scared of a knife in the kidneys from some crook I'm put away.

I have a pig's snout for a nose, one pointed ear with the other having fur on it and flopping in my brown, stringy hair. My hands are bigger than normal, I have way to much on my chest that I have to have my armors and clothes adjusted, and one foot is bigger than the other, always have to by two pairs of shoes, one of each size. I also wear light armor, though that will change over my carreer.

Well, the blue skin and fins kind of give me away as an Undine. I wear loose clothes that don't get in the way of swimming. They generalyl suit me in most climates. Glittering cities? Most cities I've visited are of the run-down sort.

I don't believe it's any of your business - my reasons are my own. But you insist? Very well. I'm in it for the same reasons as anyone else - gold, girls, and glory. What? That's not a very satisfying answer? Well, that's what you get for asking, isn't it?

My name? Erasmus is a fine name, one I inherited from my great-grandfather. And the Ravensdales have been part of the aristocracy for seven generations! In fact, I should be asking whether anyone in popular culture is named after -me-!
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up in Taldor, the land of my father, and his father, and so forth. Life as 'minor' nobility is quite comfortable, and I was easily able to secure a scholarship at the Rhapsodic College - being the second son allowed me a certain amount of freedom to do as I wished. I learned to act, and learned to fight, but I soon realized I had more... unique talents that would be better served elsewhere. Still, I have every confidence that Taldor will return to the glory it once was.

Acting is a rather rigorous exercise, and as such I'm in fine physical form. I have the strong jaw of my father, and the bright eyes of my mother (Desna rest her soul). I keep my beard well-trimmed, my hair combed, and my cravat neatly pinned. I prefer darker shades of blue and burgundy (though rarely at the same time), but I recently... acquired these marvelous cuffs that allow me to change my clothing with a thought. Forests, deserts and sewers? No longer a problem for me. As for the glittering cities? Well, a creature is usually suited for its natural habitat, and I am no exception.

A good secret. I find there's nothing quite as thrilling as being privy to something no-one else knows - even if you have to make sure you're the only one.

I despise the Kelish. They're arrogant, dim-witted, and underestimate the strength of Taldor. It will be their undoing. I've never met an elf I liked, either.

Cal. He's quick-witted fellow, able to think on his feet, and blends spell and sword even better than myself. However, he needs to learn to keep his mouth shut when it's appropriate. But, he's a good man, if a little selfish, and he will aid me in restoring our glorious home to its former glory.

As a human, I know my presence will never be particularly remarkable - something I am sure to use to my advantage. I find humans hard to stereotype, though I've been told I'm typical of the Taldan aristocracy. That poor fellow's ear will never be the same.

I fear little, and what little I fear is none of your concern. Though I do worry about losing my title - reputation is everything, after all.

My sword. It's a Maheto blade, and it's served me well. I've carried this sword with me many years, and I'll never find a more faithful companion.

It keeps me occupied and out of trouble. More than anything, though. I'm a pathfinder so I can help others be free and happy. I want to do good.

My name is Miji Podidunk. I am awesome.

For a long time, the farming village I grew up in was under the control of the Grand Lodge, but due to diplomatic poisoning and treason, the Cheliax took over. When this happened, all innate magic users, including myself, were kidnapped to be used for experimentation and weapons of mass destruction, tearing me away from my girlfriend/fiancee.
4.What are you wearing? What do you look like?
I have a light yellow/orange skin and green hair that become blood red when I am angry or casting particularly powerful magic. I wear a simple blouse and leather armor. I wear my blanket around my neck like a cape or cloak because it's functional and cosy.
5. What do you love?
My fiancee, Naomi Lymora. I love freedom, and fire, and birds, and the rush of using magic to make someone evil hurt.
6. What do you hate?
People who are judgy, especially of a specific race, gender, or sexuality. I also hate people who use people, slavers, and getting wet while still clothed. That sensation sucks. I also hate it when people make fun of my deafness, though I never hear them.

I know few, and I consider myself self reliant. I'm afraid I don't know enough people to say I have any friends.
8.How does your race influence your views?
I'd say I'm a pretty stereotypical gnome. I'm spunky, kind, lighthearted, agreeable, optimistic, and sort of a pyromaniac. One thing that does make me different is that I am homosexual, which unnerves most races.

I'm afraid that I'll be enslaved or jailed again. I got in a lot of trouble as a child, not to mention the enslavement by the Cheliax. I'm also afraid of pitch darkness, as sight is something I've depended upon a lot as someone who is deaf. I'm also terrified that the Cheliax will someday rule, or that I'll lose my fiancee.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My engagement ring. I can just look at it's big, shiny beauty and be reassured that the light is always with me, and my Naomi is always waiting for me back in Andoran.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
My brother got mixed up with some unsavory folks back in Alkenstar. I got him out, but not without owing some huge favors to those same unsavory folks. I left Alkenstar after that, and made my way as a bounty hunter for some time before they decided to collect on those favors. I ended up spending a good bit of time with some folks from the Society on an expedition, and for my part, earned a field commission. Never had the heart to tell them that I was helping smuggle Sczarni goods in through their shipments. I try to keep to the straight-and-narrow, but every so often, Guaril Karela comes by with another "favor" that I owe to keep little brother out of harm's way. I take no joy in it, but family comes first.

Georgina Wilhelmina McLintock. Though, I prefer Widdershins.

Born and raised in Alkenstar. I know they don't really, but it seems like every machine has a personality. And I've always been good at talking to them, figuring out what they want. I love the smog and the engine grease. I love the smell of gunpowder. I love all the little clockwork devices. I can take anything apart, and usually put it back together again. Sometimes it works better than it did before.

I'm not the cleanest of folks. I'm often covered in engine grease, lubrication and gunpowder residue. I've got a good set of wellies when I've got to trudge through the much, and a light duster when work takes me to hotter climes, but for the most part, it's a waxed duster, breeches, shirt and vest that don't get washed half as often as they ought to.

My little brother comes first, but after him, I love getting my hands dirty with some greasy bit of gadgetry.

I've not had the privilege of sharing expeditions with many folks more than once, but there's a couple fellows back in Thornkeep that I'm quite fond of and would love to see again if ever my travels take me back that way.

I guess that I'm on the curious side. Sometimes I just have to know what makes something "tick," even if that might land us in a spot of trouble.

Guaril Karela. He's not a nice man. I'm afraid that one day, he'll ask me to do something that I just can't do. I'm not sure where that will leave little brother and me.

My gun. I built her and she's been with me for a long time. She's gotten me out of trouble more times than I can count. Sometimes she's not in the best of moods, and well, who isn't, but I know how to push her when need be and she hasn't failed me yet.

My given name is slightly derivative if you look at it that way, but is also one I have made my own.

I was born of Geb. Although born isn't exactly the word to use. An infant taken as treasure by an undead roving party, altered to more magically attuned, and formed to be a weapon of Geb. I threw off the shackles of oppression that the nation had put on me, destroyed the guards, and escaped with my new found intelligence. I was taken in by the temple of Nethys, and encouraged to embrace his more gentle aspects, and use that kindness to accomplish my ends.

I like the wonders magic can create, and the beauty of life natural. I wear robes of moderate value, although occasionally I can be known to be in the guise of an armored warrior of massive strength, in order to throw off my foes, and direct attention elsewhere when subterfuge is required on my part. I can also be found in simple traveling clothes when it is pragmatic. When necessary, I use magic to clothe myself in decadent robes, although I find such a practice a bit unseemly.

I love knowledge. New knowledge is always precious, and thinking of a way to use it towards a peaceful and constructive end should be the paramount concern of any being capable of foresight.

I hate undeath. It's shackles and the corruption it causes are terrifying. Some glorify the rebirth, but it is nothing but a shell of life, a violation of the natural order of things. When driven to great need I understand the use, but as a means to create engines of war, torture souls, and to extend the existence of those who crave more than they ever deserved.

I have a competent group of friends to work with. Among them is a certain Princess whom I end up saving rather often, to my eternal irritation and the displeasure of all around. But she is an asset, quite impressed with her ability to talk down men and women of stature. A very cautious halfling and his dragon companion are the first to charge into battle, while our sailor makes sure they stay alive with healing magics, backed up by powerful enchantments and summoning techniques.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I view things from the lens of an experiment released into the world. I wasn't raised like normal humans, so the intricacies of social contracts are not privy to me. I tend to think from a much more logical side, but my companions are important to me, and life is precious when you do not believe in undeath, so protecting them sometimes gets the better of my self-preservative tendencies.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I fear my allies being turned against me with the slavery of undeath. If I cannot save them, they will be annihilated so that they cannot be turned against us, although with the ability to transport us far distances quickly that is less of a problem now.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My Staff is the legacy of my arcane prowess, but my most prized possession has to be a barstool that a friend who past once owned. He passed, and turned into a ghoul while I adventured with him. Once he slew the yeti as a corpse, I had to destroy him with my own power. It was a horrifying moment for me, one that I may never be allowed to forget.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
SOMEONE needs to look after the poor critters pathfinder keep sending to their doom, and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the pathfinders that dare to call themselves the animals "friends". No armor, no protective spells, they're sent blindly into rooms, traps, and left behind when people run away. That is not how you treat your friends.

Lands of the Linnorm Kings, near Grungir forest. I think having two little brothers that were werewolves taught me not to assume that just because something is angry and growly now that they're always like that. If you have a little patience, wait, and catch someone in a better mood its like they're a completely different person. Many of the local animals seems scary too, until you get to know them.

5 foot 4 farmers daughter type, light skin and pink hair. (Some of the local gnomes thought it needed more color). Usually wearing Leaf armor barding stylized like yellow fall leaves, but I'll vary it to match the season and terrain. Sleeves of many garments let me dress for any occasion and thats a good thing, because I never know where I'm being sent on any particular day.

Traveling, seeing new places and most of all meeting and cuddling new and interesting animals. I don't know why people get so angry when they barge in on something in its nest and can't figure out WHY it wants to eat them. They really need to learn how to say I'm sorry and work out their differences without getting violent. Just because something has 8 legs or is made out of slime doesn't mean they don't have feelings.

People treating their animal friends like anything BUT a friends.

Anyone that can hit things hard. I can't make friends with everything... demons and devils and undead usually need a good thwacking. And unless I call up a big animal friend in advance I have no way of hurting them.

3. Absolom, gave me cosmopolitan outlook but the rampant crime in the puddles detracts somewhat.

9. A world without Zarta's love. She keeps promising to run away with me, but I just can't locate that second blue moon tuesday on a proper calendar.
10. I have several liberated objects from a certain embassy in Absolom. But a used set of clothing from the outer planes is simply priceless. Yet officially Zarta's rubly lenses (eyes of the eagle) are my most official and visible gift.

2. I doubt you'd find Bob and Ogre Dolon in any book...we like to keep it that way.
3. Bob's from Varisia, Ogre's from Celestia. Our backgrounds make the perfect odd couple.
4. Bob's clad in a pure white Tuxedo with 1-6k of diamonds or rubies on the lapels (depending on how that roll fares each day.) Ogre wears his wrestling tights.

-I am Shoanti first. My clan has taught me everything I know about combat, life, and dealing with the Taldans. However, unlike most, I am also quick to appreciate the Taldan style of civilization, and plan to live like they do when I become too crippled to fight.

-Being forgotten. I seek glory in the name of my clan and if I die forgotten in some corner of the world, I may never forgive myself.
