A rustle from above. Kong glanced to look. There was a
yawning hole up in the tree. A mouth. The rustling turned
to motion and something reached out to touch him. Now
Kong paled, for he understood the litter of dry, white
bones about the bases of these trees. The leaves on
these trees were large and green and the sticky fronds would curl about
his body, jerkily lift him up to that obscene-looking orifice, and pop
him in. The devil-tree would swallow him alive. The acids secreted by
the inner tissues would dissolve his flesh, and the tree would finally
regurgitate his bare bones. Kong froze with fear.
O good, ice-cold frosty Kong Pops for all!!!

Cold is so not the way to go. It's like trying to freeze out Pulg their is just to much insulation.
Three of the big fronds curled about Kong's body despite his
thrashings and efforts to roll away. Slowly, his heaving
halted and he was standing static. Every one of the hairlike
projections on the leaves stung like a hornet's sting where it
touched him. Terror and revulsion lent new strength to his powerful muscles.

I've decided to turn all of you into crabs.

Kong strained frantically and an arm came free.
It was almost too late he was getting dizzy from
the poison. With his liberated hand he tore away
a leaf that was starting to wrap itself about his
head. He broke a veiny stalk, tore at the clinging,
sticky leaves -- and fell with a thump to the ground. His limbs, where
the leaves had been in contact with them, itched with red spots.

Schism Hag had cast deflect spell protecting us, with only Fish-Malkovich being caught in the "blast" but he's immune to magic (particularly sea related magic). However, Comte de Malodor is acting very silly and Vidmaster7 is dead.
