I was just wondering if you have been part of a game (as either a player or the GM) and the group encountered a creature from a different environment to where it is usually met (eg the adventure takes place in the jungle and you encounter a remorhaz, which is usually found in cold places). And if you have, what was the reason for it? Because I'm currently working on such a concept for my games, but I'm keeping it simple for now (for example, in the adventure I'm creating that is set in a savannah, I'll be having a some arsinoitherium migrate from their usual temperate climate to a warmer one).

So one type of game I tend to run is ones with planar collisions and a lot of plane shifting. so I do tend to have monsters thrown around. Make it sort of the players jobs to save the eco systems. having a rhemoraz in the jungle is probably bad for all parties involved the remhoraz doesn't like it and the local fauna for sure don't. Exploring the ramification of it could be fun.
Alternativly haveing animals that have naturally evolved in different climates could be interesting too. So instead of a cold remoraz reverse it to a hot one or maybe even a acid eating one. I feel like the old 3.5 environment book series had some templates for those situations.
