"Are you kidding me? Blinding, Hiding, Flying, Gaseous form. Hey, maybe it can heal you too and buff your sword to a flaming sword! This is a little too much."...
Ha! Much appreciated and it sounds as if it was memorable, if not in a good way.
Not at all to argue the point but purely as a comment on my process, I compared this to the cloak of arachnidia as an attack/movement item and was fairly happy at the time with the cost for a once-per-day shield of blinding effect plus 90 feet of movement. Clearly that was badly misjudged for its combined effect.
I think it really needed something to close off the potential for carrying a whole belt pouch of these and using them repeatedly. Once per day should mean just that for this item.

Well, I didn't make the cut, but I'd definitely like to know what you thought of my item

On a side note, I really feel ashamed of myself for bringing this to your attention Clark. I know we must take criticism and rejection as a way to grow in the craft, but I can't stop feeling the urge to just give up and say to myself, "WTF were you thinking? I don't deserve to waste people's time like this. Get real! Get grounded. Give Up! Get on with your life. At least you know what you shouldn't be doing". Crap! This feels like some pity plight. Well screw it. I tried. Be harsh. And whatever you do, be honest. Be evil. Be cruel. Slap me down. I won't let this be the end. I will grow. I am the flower between the cracks of the pavement.

Sprite Trapper’s Cage
Aura strong enchantment; CL 15th
Slot none; Price 100,000 gp; Weight 3 lb.
Description
This tiny cage is fashioned from gold plated steel with Sylvan engravings. It is 7 inches in diameter and 7 inches tall. Inside the cage is a lure that is highly sought by Sprites, a unique mushroom preserved in amber. Setting this cage as a trap in a forest or aquatic environment normally yields a Sprite within a week. The Sprite Trapper is then able to direct the Sprite seven times, after which the Sprite is released. The only exception to the “7 Rule” is the Irresistible Dance. If this spell is cast (or played), the Sprite is released immediately. Sylvan engravings within the cage instruct Sprites to cooperate with the possessor of the cage or remain captive. Typical requests would be: Use one Spell-like ability, a Search Check, Read Sylvan, use a Special Arrow, etc.
When this cage is first discovered there is a 30 percent chance that a Sprite is already held within. The Cage will appear empty until it is touched or the Sprite inside decides to reveal itself.

Divine symbol of faith
Aura:faint evocation CL:5th
Slot:-- Price: 18,400 Weight:--description
The Divine symbol of faith is a master crafted holy symbol. For all intents and purpose it functions just as any other holy symbol with three additional features. The first is whenever the wielder uses the divine symbol of faith as her focus for channeling positive energy she gains a bonus of 2D6 to her positive energy burst. Secondly using a command word she may use the divine symbol of faith to cast the spell searing light (CL 5) 3/day. Lastly the wielder may, with the use of a command word, cast the spell consecrate (CL 3) once per day with the divine symbol of faith as the focal point.
construction
Requirements:Craft wondrous Item, searing light, consecrate. In addition the holy symbol must have positive energy channeled into it during the creation by a 3rd level cleric/6th level paladin. Cost: 9,200
Woot! Another magical holy symbol! Something that, IMO, should have been in the darn game since 1st edition. (40 bazillion spellcasting clerics, and none of them thought to enchant the single item they *have* to have with them for their entire careers? Shyeah rioght.)
As a 'masterwork holy symbol,' does this have any effect? In 3.0/3.5 a masterwork holy symbol could logically be inferred to grant a +2 bonus to Turn / Rebuke checks, but Pathfinder's new Channel Energy mechanic does not involve a check to activate or determine effect, merely a damage roll.
The only quibble I'd have with your item is that it's effects are very specific (mostly appropriate for a deity of life and light, who is not found of undead), but not campaign specific. This could be a plus, in that it could work for Pelor or Lathandar or Madriel or Sarenrae, depending on setting, but, in that case, why not go that one step further and make it a holy symbol of one of those gods and give it a spiffy campaign-specific name, like Dawnflowers Rose Sigil or something? Or, going in the completely other direction, make the item totally generic, and adaptable for use by any sort of deity, adding to Channeling positive or negative energy, and allowing casting of more 'generic' cleric spells like bless/bane or protection from evil/good (or inflict / cure wounds, but that would be a retread of the channel energy bonus, IMO, and unoriginal).
That being said, my own holy symbol submission, the Sovereign Sigil of Asmodeus, didn't make the top 32 either. So take my advice with a grain of salt, given that I have a big 'L' for 'loser' on my forehead. :)

Amphora of Humble Offering
Aura faint Necromantic; CL 3rd
Slot - ; Price 1600 gp; Weight 15 lb.
Description
A common tool amongst worshippers of Pharasma, this simple Amphora is made from earthen wear and glazed with images of grape vines. This Amphora is used to make libations of wine to the goddess.
Once per day as a standard action, the contents can be poured onto a non-pours surface, where it can pool. The wine from the amphora is irresistible to the undead creatures. They will cease what ever they are doing, to lap up the wine, even breaking of combat to drink it, however if attacked they will defend them selves.
Unintelligent undead cannot resist the urge to sup form the liquid, but intelligent undead may make a will check (DC 13) to avoid the urge. Incorporeal undead are especially vulnerable to the lure of the libation, suffering a -2 to their will save.
While supping, an undead creature can do nothing else. The Amphora contains enough wine to occupy one creature for 5 minutes.

CHALICE OF THE KING
Aura faint conjuration; CL 7th
Slot --; Price 56,000 gp; Weight 3 lb.
HISTORY
Originally created by the paranoid Tybarus the Tyrrant, the Chalice of the King disappeared after his assassination. Tybarus had artisans loyal to him make an enchanted cup of gold, covered with gemstones, that would remove any poisons in his drink. He feared, correctly, that citizens of his kingdom sought to remove him from power. The goblet served its purpose well, and Tybarus indeed thwarted many attempts to poison him. Ironically, he was assassinated by a poisoned blade, from which the mighty chalice was unable to save him.
DESCRIPTION
This large cup is made of solid gold. Green gems, mostly emerald and jade, are embedded on the sides and base of the cup. This chalice constantly casts neutralize poison (as the spell) on any liquid it contains. This has the additional effect of removing alcohol from any beverage drank from the cup. The chalice cannot remove poisons already affecting the victim however, or delivered from any other source (such as injury, contact, or inhalation poisons).

Bag of Surreptitious Switching:
This backpack, designed to look like an ordinary non-magical black leather rucksack has the ability to duplicate any other nearby container.
As a free action, the possessor of the Bag of Surreptitious Switching can transform it into any other visible container of fine to large size within 30 feet. The container’s visual, auditory and olfactory and weight components are perfectly duplicated. The container’s contents are also seemingly duplicated, as via Major Image. The effect lasts for one hour, until someone attempts True Seeing, or removes an item from the Bag.
The Bag of Surreptitious Switching allows the user to palm any container up to his own size using Slight of Hand, provided the unattended container is replaced with the Bag of Surreptitious Switching. The DC for the attempt remains the same. The Bag may also be used in an attempt to lift a small container for a creature. The Bag gives a +10 competency bonus to the Slight of Hand check provided the Bag is left in the possession of the previous owner.

This will probably get lost in the myriad of requests, but anyhoo...
First of all, thanks Clark for your feedback. It is great you're doing this.
Once per year you get a five-word commune? Who wants this item? Am I missing something here?
Commune works for yes/no questions. If you want to know where something is located, what someone's name is, or other type of information for which yes/no questions aren't really useful, commune does not help a bit. Let's also remember that commune answers according to a particular deity's interests.
Plus, look at cost. This is essentially a commune scroll (though it seems it gives 5 word answers more than commune's one word answer or maybe up to 5 words), which would otherwise cost you 1125gp (a 5th level spell scroll). This item lets you use the spell once per year, so I guess he just bumped the cost up to 1650gp which is the price of a scroll of a 6th level spell.
Not like a scroll, it is use activated rather than spell completion, so that's where the pricing comes from.
Why in the world would I pay more for this item when I could just buy a commune scroll for 500 gp less--a savings of 1/3 the price of the item--and get 8...
1.Because you're not a cleric and can't use a scroll, and more importantly...
2.Because you need an answer for a question different from yes or no.

First, Clark, thank you so much for taking the time to answer our need for feedback. It is incredibly helpful.

GARRECH'S PLANAR ABRAXAS
Aura - strong abjuration; CL - 15th
Slot - neck; Price - 135,000 gp; Weight - N/A
DESCRIPTION
This abraxas is a disk of cold iron, inscribed with the ancient runes of a forgotten language and suspended within a cradle of platinum wires. Worn around the neck by a fine chain of platinum links, it feels cool to the touch until its power is activated, which causes a brief flare of near-painful heat to radiate from it, accompanied by a throb of dull, orange light.
Wearing the abraxas grants immunity to spells or effects that either hold one to this plane (i.e. Dimensional Anchor), force them to another plane (i.e. Banishment), or summon them from another plane (i.e. Summon Monster). The wearer can always choose to allow these effects.
Once per day, the wearer can also create an emerald aura around them in a 20-ft. radius with the effects of a Dimensional Lock spell, as if cast by a 15th level wizard, but only lasting 15 rounds.
CONSTRUCTION
Requirements - Craft Wondrous Item, Dimensional Lock; Cost - 67,500 gp
[I'm guessing two things: Something abusable that I overlooked or costing/spell requirements are off. (Plus the spell names are capitalized. :P )]
Thanks again!

However, when pulling the hood of the wolf headed cloak over the users own face, additional benefits are granted. When donning the cloak in this fashion the topaz colored eyes glow with a piercing blue light, and she is granted the supernatural ability to see though the fiercest winter storms as if it were a clear day. CAULDRON OF BLOOD
Aura strong conjuration; CL 17th
Slot -; Price 110,880 gp; Weight 20 lb.
DESCRIPTION
This black iron cauldron always reeks of death and is cold to the touch. It summons on command a number of undead within a quarter-mile radius based on the amount of fresh, humanoid blood in it. Once the command word is spoken, the blood begins to boil and more cannot be added. The cauldron hypnotizes the summoned undead while blood remains; undead cannot be commanded but can only stare at the boiling blood. If attacked, the hypnotize is broken for all undead and they regain self-control. The undead are summoned from lowest CR to highest within the radius; 1 pint of blood summons 1 CR of undead. CR 8+ undead get a Will save (DC 15 – #CRs above 8) to avoid summoning.
The blood boils off at 1 pint/round and the cauldron holds 80 pints. When the blood is gone the undead return to their original location. The cauldron needs a minimum of 10 pints (one humanoid’s worth) to work. It functions once per week.
CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, summon monster IX, hypnotism; Cost 55,440 gp

Gah, your right and if she'd just cut down the final paragraph to something like "When mixed with wine or other fluid, the rouge looses taste and color and becomes a mystical vector of the Poison spell. The effect of this poison can be delayed for up to 7 hours." :( i am sad now

Nix's Chalk of Endless Ways
Aura strong conjuration (cursed - unreliable); CL 17th
Slot --; Price 160,000gp; Weight --
DESCRIPTION
By all appearances just a set of two colored chalk, but when each is used to draw a doorway on a different surface an inky black portal connects the two surfaces similar to a Teleportation Circle. Prior to the portal forming the chalk functions normally and can be wiped away, affected by rain, etc. Once both doorways are drawn, the created portal has a duration of ten minutes and cannot be dispelled. One being may pass through at a time and each sentient being has a cumulative 5% chance of collapsing it. Elemental forces of natural or magical nature will not pass through. Spells cannot be cast through the portal, and line of sight is blocked. Item may be used once per day and must be stored, for eight hours of each day, in a container with chalk powder or it will not function. Chalk is utterly destroyed if two sentient beings of diametrically opposed alignments pass through the same active portal.
CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, teleportation circle; Cost 80,000gp

I cleaned up the format, and would love some feedback on this item. Just wondering how much messing up the format counted against any possible mojo this item may have had.

SHACKLES OF SUBMISSION
Aura moderate abjuration, enchantment; CL 6th
Slot hands, feet; Price 13,000 gp; Weight 5 lb.
Description:
This linked pair of adamantine masterwork wrist manacles and ankle fetters traditionally has the symbol of Abadar stamped deeply on each of its four cuffs.
A creature bound by the shackles is considered to be entangled. These shackles magically silence a bound creature; this effect may be turned on and off by their captor at will. When not silenced, the bound subject is forced to give only truthful answers to questions as if inside a zone of truth. Lastly, the individual binding the wearer can issue suggestions (as the spell, with a six hour duration but no save) to the bound creature at will. These magical effects still function even if the leg fetters are removed (or both cuffs attached to one leg, a usual solution if the bound creature is required to travel under its own power).
They fit any Small to Large creature. The DC to break or slip out of the shackles is 30.
Construction:
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, silence, zone of truth, suggestion; Cost 6,500 gp
For me this fills a needed gap, which is a semi-secure way of "bringing prisoners back alive" (when it's an evil wizard or other caster, even the paladins tend to agree they're too dangerous to keep alive in normal bonds). Even noncaster opponents are a real problem if you get tthem before you're "done with the dungeon" - here you can tie them up, silence them, and tell them to sit over there for a while as you do some more room-clearing.

EYE OF FIRE
Aura moderate necromancy; CL 10th
Slot face/eyes; Price 133,000 gp Weight -;
DESCRIPTION
An eye of fire appears as a glowing white crystal ball approximately 1 inch in diameter, shedding light as per a continual flame spell.
If inserted into a living creature's empty eye socket, the eye's intensity increases, project bright light forward in a 30 foot cone, and dim light out to 60 feet. The recipient can block this light by closing his eyelid over the eye.
The recipient of an eye of fire cannot see with it, but can detect undead continuously as per the spell.
The final two powers of the eye of fire can only be activated by a recipient who has the Channel Positive Energy class ability. By expending one use of his channeling ability, the recipient may either cast a death ward on himself, or fire a beam of searing light from the eye. Both of these spell-like abilities operate at a caster level equal to his number of energy channeling dice (maximum 10).
CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, continual flame, death ward, detect undead, searing light, Craft (glassblowing); Cost 66,500 gp

Eheheh... I'm not looking for feedback really, but I did have a question. Would you be able to tell me if my item actually got submitted? It was called the Abacus of Uncanny Calculations.
I'm curious because I kinda toed the line as far as the deadline went. I thought it said it was submitted, but I think I opened the submission form before the deadline, and hit submit after the deadline...

Rouge of Venomous Vengeance
Aura Moderate Conjuration CL 7th
Slot —; Price 4750gp; Weight —
Description: This cosmetic hides a duplicitous means towards revenge. Each vial of rouge is made with three doses, which may be used for the following effects:
When worn upon the cheeks it grants the wearer immunity to poison for 7 hours.
When worn upon the lips the wearer may bestow upon a single target Calistria’s Kiss. This is a touch attack if resisted. Once kissed the victim bears a lipstick stain that cannot be removed by any means short of remove curse. This mark renders the victim more susceptible to poisons and other ailments, suffering a -4 to all saves, per the curse spell.
The rouge may be mixed into a fluid, whereupon the substance looses taste and color and becomes a mystical vector of the Poison spell. The wearer of the rouge may choose to delay this effect for up to 7 hours at the time the substance is mixed. If two doses have been applied to the lips, the poison effect may be applied via bodily fluid transfer, or by mixing poisoned saliva with a drink.
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, Poison, Delay Poison, Bestow Curse, Neutralize Poison.

Celestial Starstone
Aura faint evocation and enchantment; CL 5th
Slot none; Price 16,000 Weight -;
DESCRIPTION
A starstone is created from a celestial source, be it a fallen star, the dust from a comet's tail, or a piece of the moon itself. Its shape can vary, but it's typically a small metal disk shaped into a moon, star, or comet that magically affixes it self to a weapon made from metal.
When attached to a weapon the starstone will turn even the most glimmering blade into a color as black as pitch, permanently. It also gains a +1 bonus to damage and attack rolls if it is not already magical.
If the blade is then held under the light of a full moon it transforms again. Motes of dancing color twinkle and shimmer about the weapon like stars in the night sky. This effect adds an additional 1d4 points of holy damage to all damage rolls made with this weapon. This effect lasts until the next full moon and must be recharged again before it confers its bonus damage.
CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Wondrous Items, bless, searing light, Creator must be good. Cost 8,000

Crimsen, do I read correctly that your item makes an unlimited number of permanent +1 holy bladed weapons, for 16,000?
(If it is a one-shot item, then I think it's a magic weapon, rather than a wondrous item.)
(And, incidentally, welcome to the boards. Lilith is off baking cookies, but she'll be by presently.)

Thanks, First year here.
But no, the item needs to stay affixed to the weapon in question to function, once removed you only have a sexy black weapon.

While within 1 mile of each other, wearers can use the aid another ability from a distance to assist one another both during combat, without the need to threaten the opponent, and in response to the effects of some spells, such as when waking a person from sleep. The loops magically conform to the wearers as necklaces, headbands, bracelets, or belts; however, both individuals must wear them in the same fashion.

My submission...
Fiend Slayers’ Tome
Aura moderate transmutation; CL 9th
Slot ---; Price 97,200 gp; Weight 1 lb.
Description
This magical book of copper-bound darkwood contains 2-5 usable pages. To activate the book the user must spend 1 hour studying a creature he helped defeat in combat and enter the findings in the book. Each entry requires a knowledge skill check (DC 10 + creature’s CR) relevant to the type of creature being studied (i.e. dungeoneering for aberrations). A failed check results in the destruction of the page. Once successful, the user can mimic one of the creature’s Special Qualities, provided the user’s character level is equal to the creature’s CR + 1. Only one quality may be mimicked in any 24 hour period.
Continuous special qualities (i.e. darkvision) can be used a number of minutes per day equal to the character level of the user. Minutes need not be consecutive but each activation uses a minimum of 1 minute. Qualities that are activated or have limited uses, may be used a number of times per day equal to character level divided by 4 rounded down (minimum 1).
Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, polymorph; Cost 48,600 gp

ARCHER'S EYEPATCH
Aura moderate transmutation and divination; CL 7th
Slot eyes; Price 14,000 gp; Weight --
DESCRIPTION
This black eyepatch holds a large, almost half-inch sapphire in the center. When worn over one eye it bestows an archery related feat based on the wearer's ranged combat feats. The wearer gains the first feat in the following list that he doesn't have through any means including magical effects: Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Far Shot, Rapid Shot, Shot on the Run, Manyshot, Improved Precise Shot, Pinpoint Targeting.
The wearer gains the bestowed feat even if he does not meet the feat's prerequisites. He may not use the bestowed feat as a prerequisite when selecting a new feat. Ross Byers RPG Superstar 2008 Top 32 , Star Voter Season 7 |

It's not noon PST yet, but a bunch of other people have posted and I don't want to get lost too far down.
Item:
Mannikin of Bilocation
Aura moderate illusion; CL 11th
Slot -; Price 5,000 gp; Weight 2lb.
Description:
This item appears to be a small, jointed, featureless wooden doll. It is popular with individuals who need to be in two locations at once, to provide an alibi, or merely to dodge their obligations.
Once per week, it can be activated with a drop of blood from a humanoid creature. The blood must be fresh (drawn within one hour). When activated, the mannikin animates as if by an unseen servant and projects a glamer of that creature around itself (Will save DC 19 to disbelieve) for eight hours. The mannikin has access to the original's surface knowledge at the time of its animation. This knowledge grants the mannikin bonuses on skill checks equal to one half the original creature's bonuses, rounded up. However, it never knows anything that the original would consider to be secret. Individuals conversing with the mannikin may make a DC 20 Sense Motive check to notice that it is not the original.
While active, the mannikin acts as directed by the creature who activated it.
Construction:
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, unseen servant and mislead or simulacrum; Cost 2,500 gp
What I Think Went Wrong:
Too much of a monster-in-a-can.
Not a heroic need. (Like the Simulacra Suit from Shackled City, this is more a way to mislead PCs.)
Abusable: Like the hat of disguise this has bizarre uses I may not have thought of.
Undercosted: The effect is relatively benign, and is only 1/week, so the cost is low, but given the requirements (mislead or simulacrum) it probably should have cost more. (Note I may have increased the cost by a factor of two or three in my final submission, but Clark would have to verify that, as I can't remember.) Even at 15,000 gp, though, it's still a bargain.
Types of actions not specified.
