this looks really cool, very noir
is it the starfinder 2e beginner box?
They very specifically said that it is not. This Deluxe Adventure will not include a condensed ruleset, you will need Player Core to run it. It will contain all of the enemy statblocks (because Alien Core comes out later). Thurston Hillman did mention that a Beginner Box was a good idea, though, so we might see one later on.

In PF2e when we had an ancestry released in an adventure (Shoony) it kinda got left with no support in future releases (extra feats, heritages etc). Will the Khizar start with a larger range of options than the Shoony did, just in case?
Shoony stands out as the only PF2 adventure-released ancestry. Starfinder is going to be very intentionally including ancestries in just about every adventure. With so many ancestries, I'm not really expecting them to go back and add options to all of them individually later, but I would expect them to be created with the benefits of more experience, making sure there's at least one or two level 17 options, etc. Khizar also has the benefit of already existing in the lore with SF1 stats, which can't hurt.

The description says "including player and creature tokens" How is this different from the old pawns? Are these going to be round cardboard tokens instead of pawns with stands? One advantage of that would be the art would be easily transferable to VTTs
I really like the idea of everything you need for an adventure in one box!

Loving the idea of everything you need to play an adventure in one box. It's a great way to get a premium product on store shelves that isn't just another hardback that will get lost in the shuffle, and it's an awesome value for that price.

I thought that announcing the Mechanic and Technomancer playtest so early was a bit weird, but it makes sense. I expect that some will want to play those classes with this adventure, even if they aren't 100% complete yet. This lets the fanbase know they'll have that option, so that there isn't a constant stream of complaints.

First off, glad to see this is getting a Foundry module:
https://foundryvtt.com/packages/sf2e-murder-in-metal-city
That said, I'd really like Paizo to estimate how many session this is supposed to fill (or how many levels of play it covers). It's hard to rope in GMs or players if no one knows if it'll run 2 or 12 sessions....

From what I heard on this stream, Roadmap To The Stars, after the 24 minutes mark (link time-stamped), it's a 60 pages adventure all happening at level 1, so no level up, despite it having as much content as other adventure books (like Plaguestone for PF2 gets to level up twice in the same amount of pages), but here they are trying something new.

Its also hard to gauge a number of sessions. Different groups have different length of session, and different amounts of banter, roleplay, meandering, etc that can all contribute to session length.

We're honestly just genuinely unsure right now! We haven't done adventures like this before outside of playtesting, so it's hard for us to know how long a session of non playtesters would take! Our best guess is "a handful," but we can't really get precise. Hopefully, when it's released and some of the community tries it out, they can weigh in!

Minor request.
The pregen characters that are included, could those Character Sheets be designed like the actual Pregen characters on the website, instead of like the versions in Free RPG Day?
You know, with the descriptions of exactly what the abilities do already included on the card, without having to double over to a different book.
It's a silly little thing, but when it comes to level 1 Pregens, I've found them most frequently used to teach new players. Experienced people who know what those abilities do, they brought their own character most of the time.
And as a regular Convention GM at live cons, having a couple of heavy cardstock versions that actually have the instructions to help you play the character, that is massively valuable when trying to teach a new player without slowing down the table too much for everyone else.

Will this count towards Starfinder Society GM tables?
Since Starfinder 2e isn't getting any GM incentive program, it would be nice if the Starfinder 2e tables still counted towards our Starfinder 1e Novas.
I still feel like we don't have such a flood of GMs that the GM Incentive Program needed to be eliminated. But I suppose Paizo has the metrics on their side and must have realized that too many people wanted to be the GMs and nobody really wanted to be the players, so they needed to remove the very small reward for GMing.

The whole adventure is played at 1st level. It has about the same amount of content as a 3 level adventure, but all in level 1. I guess the PCs would probably be ready to level up to lvl 2 at the end of it all. xD

When was this announced? The first part?
What incentive does a GM have to run SFS 2e games then?

The incentive program has changed, but it's not going away.
Starfinder Society 2.0: Adventure Rewards.
Additionally, Starfinder Society will not have a GM ranking system akin to the previous system of stars, glyphs, or novas at launch. This will return at a future date in some form, though not necessarily the one you may be used to. We do want to make sure we’re rewarding our dedicated GMs and recognizing those who go above and beyond for the program. However, what we don’t want to even tacitly encourage is the practice of rushing to that top rank and being one of the first GMs with the highest recognition. We’ve seen too many GMs in Pathfinder Society burn themselves out and drop shortly after achieving this goal, and the easiest way to prevent it, in our minds, is simply not to put it in front of you until a later date.
