First! This is so exciting! The playtest soldier in our group has been a lot of fun to watch.

I do find it kind of crazy that in July-August, though, Pathfinder is about to get eight new classes, around 10 new ancestries, some alternates for existing ancestries, and 2 heritages when you combine this release and Battlecry.

Interesting phrasing. They've made it clear that technomancer and mechanic are coming after the others, but it sounds like they will be at least mentioned in the core or considered core classes

The rules walk you through making a character using the six classes as examples, but obviously the rules and examples are still relevant to future classes. That's my reading.

SF2e is PF2e compatible as well, though some of the rules to fully harmonize them will be released in the GM Core.

Is there any word on if a sketch cover is in the works? The retro gaming retailer cover is cool, but I've really liked the sketch variants so far.

The Retro game look is the Starfinder "twist" they gave to it. It's the "Starfinder version" of Sketch covers. There's no Sketch cover announced for any Starfinder book.

I find it just as crazy that in July-August, Starfinder is getting access to the entire Pathfinder 2e line of products. Space Bards!!!!

Shobhad definitely feel like the most glaring omission at the moment as least as far as the Pact Worlds goes.

Never played SF1e, but I'm very interested in jumping in with 2e.

Technically Starfinder includes the classes in Pathfinder 2e as well. Give that fighter a Doshko.

I'm fairly certain SF1 only had one more core class; Witchwarper wasn't core but Technomancer and Mechanic (gonna be playtested for 2e soon!) were. So it's like, slightly worse. And honestly it's comparable to PF2e Player Core, which I know is a false equivalent because the old CRB had like double SF2's launch classes, but like, still.

Do we have any news about AP or Bestiary? I'm more interested in a Bestiary to adapt some AP from the first edition...

Alien Core (like Monster Core) is confirmed if that’s what you mean. No page yet though.

Yes, the PDFs are available to purchase individually once the general release date is reached. Also, free PDFs are included with the physical books when the books are ordered through the Subscription.

The blurb says "everything a player needs" so I would hope Starship combat is included as that seems pretty integral to the genre.

Starship combat is coming in a later book. Narrative starship combat is in GM Core.

The announcement that its coming will go up this week.

Do we know why this wasn't stated before? Many people mostly sub to get it early.

Getting it early is not a benefit of the subscription, and never has been. Getting a free PDF is the perk, and for most products that PDF comes when the product is shipped, but for big edition changing releases they hold off so that everyone gets access to it at the same time, rather than having spoilers barrage people who haven't been lucky enough to get theirs yet or are waiting for the launch date.

You can say that, but most people I know who get the subscription get it so they can get the pdf early lol.

Respectfully stated, you can't easily upload, email or otherwise digitally share a physical book. The Paizo CCO has stated that the Diamond distributer debacle has been a kick in the teeth to this year's budget, so I am sure they are taking steps to shore up their financials by generating every possible sale; especially so for a "flagship" launch.

They stated they wanted the physical books shipped in time for GenCon sessions, since they are not hauling, storing and hiring to hand out in person; which further reduces costs while still getting attendees, GMs and players the content timely.

To me, the listing page does say the PDF would be available July 31st which is our published notice. Releasing in batch all at once likely streamlines/simplifies the process with efficiencies leading to reduced labor costs. I can't speak for the intentions of others, but I subscribe not expecting it early, but to have a physical book on my shelf (for reference) and a PDF (that I can safely mark-up/annotate) for my sessions, which won't occur before July 31st.

This is likely due to the updates in our website! It wasn't stated before because we weren't 100% positive it would be happening around this time, and we didn't want to give false information!
