My second question posted here in April 2022....is what adventures should I carry in my store for early players and their DM's??? I have 2E rulebook now, character sheets, bestiary, and couple of adventures..but looking for more input on what to stock? Thought I'd come to those who play...
Other than the Beginner Box, the standalone adventures would be a good thing to stock, since they are designed to be played by themselves and are a good way to introduce players to the game. You can find them here. Stocking the Gamemastery Guide would also be a good idea, though it is not necessary to GM a game.

There are some important factors to consider when fitting your character into Golarion, particularly among races. For instance, in Golarion, elves are not ancestors of the First World, so Fey Ancestry doesn't make as much sense, but it would make some sense for Gnomes.
Maybe someday, I'll come up with a list of Golarion racial variants for 5e, complete with subraces based on Golarian heritages.
Fey Ancestry is basically a bonus to saves against charm, so it can be given out rather freely in D&D 5E. In fact, they recently added it to the goblinoids, of all people.
But D&D 5E races cover a lot less than PF2 ancestries do, so a lot that is unique in PF2 could be covered in D&D 5E by existing races or by Custom Lineage, with appropriate 1st level feats added in the latter case.

The Advanced Player's Guide might also be worthwhile in at least some capacity - given it introduces some very important (or at least desirable by players) concepts and options, some of which really make PF2 stand out from D&D (tieflings and aasimar available with any ancestry, the bevvy of archetypes, classes like oracle and investigator, to name a few).

Given the almost total positive response I have seen on ENWorld, here and the ridiculously just weird Nerd Immersion response linked upthread (it’s…just…weird…and completely a hot mess) I would imagine this is a great thing for Paizo. And if it succeeds wildly they could even be forgiven (by PF exclusive grog-gnarlds) for making a distinct team/arm/wing/sub-cubicle of devs and designers/retroconverter raptors churning out 5e conversions of everyone’s favorite APs. Go ahead Paizo, you have my unneeded permission.

Ron Lundeen mentioned it was just David N. Ross who was hired on to do the conversion, with some layout and other oversight by Ron and probably a couple others at Paizo, so it doesn't seem like they're really looking to make this a business model.
And I do agree, it's great for them. As long as they continue supporting game systems like PF2 that they believe in, I'll have nothing to fuss about if they convert every adventure ever to a more D&D flavor as well!

OK...here goes...New retailer posting after playing himself in first Beginner's Box game last night as "Valeros" and loving it...btw...I'm basically a retired person..but run this games store on Vancouver Island, Western Canada...(in case your mapping skills are poor!)I've done a bit of rp gaming...not a lot of D&D...but couple of sessions and much much prefer PF....played last night with couple of young 30 year olds (very experienced with D&D--but first timers for PG)....
To stick to theme of thread....My new store is next door to an established older store that sells new D&D and when I opened I agreed not to compete directly...but there are lots of D&D players around and they are signing up to use my games rooms (he doesn't have any)...( I have some old D&D modules that I do sell..but that's about it plus some miniatures...) Anyhow THE THEME QUESTION IS..."How best to move them over to PF"...and maybe PAIZO have come up with answer!!!!

Oh yes...first game as player...(1) rat (1) spider (1) zombie and (1) other something or other..(forget cause I'm old!!!)...like a goblin but I think not... Gained lots of experience that our DM announced after every encounter...so really liked that part...
Oh Woah! Nice! I'm very happy that my post inspired you to make that great contribution! Very nice to see your point of view!
Anjd yes, I agree that this adventure will be perfect for converting people! It won't work with everyone, but... I'm sure some will be interested.Note: for the "not goblin" creatures you forgot, I think it might be kobolds, reptilian people that think they are descendants of great dragons, and very adept at using traps! They are playable with the Advanced Player Guide!
My personal tastes in products are not exactly close to the average (I'm an accessory fiend, and own ALL the PF2 books. :P ) so I don't feel like I can answer your question on what to stock, but as someone that dreams of opening a Tabletop RPG cafe/store myself, I wish you all the success in your own endeavor! :3

To clarify the facts regarding support of the first edition of Pathfinder, Paizo continues to:
1. Keep rulebooks in stock and available to retailers through distributors
2. Keep PDFs for sale on paizo.com
3. Support Pathfinder Society Legacy Play
4. Keep the Pathfinder Compatibility "Third-Party Publisher" license and expand it to Pathfinder Infinite on Drive-Thru RPG
5. Promote first edition podcasts and live plays on social media & welcome them at PaizoCon.
6. Publish a first edition Bestiary for the upcoming Kingmaker Anniversary Edition.
I am unaware of any tabletop roleplaying game company that supports a previous edition of its game more than Paizo does.
Paizo produces more rpg content than any other single company, indeed at what has been called a break-neck pace. My coworkers have every reason to be proud. This as of yet singular 5e product is a way to welcome players who have not had the opportunity to experience their excellence.

I am really excited to hear about this news. I have been playing around with the beginners box in foundry with the pf2e rules and really liking the quality of the VTT module you created and the story being told. Is there any plans to making a Foundry module for this 5e adventure path?
The foundry module are made by the wonderful people over at FoundryVtt!
The best bet would be to message FoundryVtt directly to show your interest. :3Aftershö¢k |

(I linkified the product page link for you)
No need to apologize! :3It's not clearly indicated there, and the paizo site is the only place it can be bought, so that confusion is common.
But if you look at your linked page, you can see under the name of the product that the linked company is Foundry VTT, not Paizo inc as in this page here. So yeah, Paizo sell the vtt module, but they are not the ones that made it.

I just now saw this and am very excited by it! Our group has been playing in Golarion since PF1's release, but we moved to 5e when it came out. But we base our adventures in Golarion. We just really like the setting. Which means a fair bit of conversion has to take place. Seeing a Pathfinder AP converted for me is very exciting! Hopefully this product sells well and there may be more conversions done in the future. Thanks for this!

It was alluded to in the blog post, but: does this book contain a 5e stat block for EVERY monster in the AP, or does it reference other bestiaries/monster manuals like other Paizo APs?
The product is not yet complete, but I see it hold 60 pages of monsters and NPCs, with art. That said, I belive it assumes ownership of the 5e Monster Manual.

I would recommend checking out the Kingmaker 5e Bestiary! It’s got great alternative stat blocks for creatures found in the fifth edition Monster Manual.

So, not to spread gossip like wildfire, but I think this is a germaine question right now.
According to Gizmodo, the new OGL 1.1 is set to begin applying on January 13, 2023 and the prior one is 'terminated', and has several clauses in it which would seem to me to not be acceptable to Paizo, including one that says that if you make more than 750,0000$ annually you owe them 20% royalties.
Since this is deliberately being marketed as a 5e-compatible product, this would seem like it might impact the release date of this product, and possibly cancel it altogether?

I'm sorry to report that this product was delayed internally even before the OGL conversation started. It is not going to make the March street date. We will get back to you with clarity when we have it.

I know nothing more than anyone else, but I would think this is "on hold" until they say it's either coming or not. WotC has created a horrible environment for any 3rd party publisher with a 5E project in active development. Regardless of OGL change, the very fact there's "uncertainty" (in a business sense) brought on by their silence, should freeze further investment of time and resources. In this specific case, suddenly Paizo has no idea what the cost to complete this project is, and how much they need to sell in order to break even. Until that info is known, I don't blame them at all for forcing a groundstop on the work.
It sucks. I know. I was looking forward to running my daughters through this and giving them nightmares.

With everything the Seattle Company has done, is this product still feasible? I know they said in the first statement none of their future plans would go into effect until a certain point, and then proceeded to back pedal on the most recent statement, but would it even be ethical for Paizo to proceed with this product?
I want to support Paizo, I was ecstatic, for their interpretation of a 5e adventure. I’ve heard so many good things about Paizo Adventure Paths but I feel like i may as well get a Pathfinder 2e Starter Box + Abomination Vaults.

Pretty sure there is something being worked out in the background to make this happen.
If Paizo had to drop this project and ended-up losing the money invested in this (or had to heavily invest into further re-editing to make it system-agnostic or for Project Black Flag), it would hurt the shreds of the reputation and respect the Tower-Dwellers of the Shore still command.
I mean... as far as I know, this was announced, developed and put into pre-orders (and possibly some printing has already been ordered) well before any talk of changes to the OGL. This thing was initially due to release back in November.
I also remember there being mention of a grace period mentioned by the aforementioned Tower-Dwellers. I do expect this to be released... and then be the first and final Pathfinder product for Dung & Drag.

As I recall, that grace period is only for people who sign onto OGL 2.0 (or whatever the final number ends up being), and I am pretty sure that Paizo will never do that. I would not be terribly shocked if they did end up either dropping this project or using it as a way to provoke a lawsuit from WotC if the latter makes a bunch of threats but doesn't follow through with them.

Now that the OGL remains untouched is movement continuing on this product?
This product was on hold before the OGL challenges due to issues that have yet to be fully resolved. Regretfully, but to set honest expectations, this product won't come to market until 2024, if at all, for reasons that will become clear at a future date.

Should we cancel our preorders then?
When should we expect official word on the matter? It just feels like we have been left in the dark about the delays and ultimate fate of the product for a long time already (months). Not to be rude or anything, but some clarity would be appreciated by everyone, I'm sure.
