Well, I guess two is a multiple. Regardless, as I said I'd forgotten about that conversation from a year ago. I was wrong in what I said then, but please don't ascribe malice to a faulty memory.

I sure do love talking about imminent Lost Omens book release The Knights of Lastwall. That sure is the topic at hand here.

Today’s Live apparently gestured to KoL operating abroad as far as Tian Xia or Arcadia and… I don’t understand? Is their mission significantly larger than Tar-Baphon? I thought their focus was pretty singular.

Speculation: Maybe they're tracking sects of Whispering Way adherents who might be working to expand the Tyrant's influence, or trying to rally support for their struggle to reclaim their homeland in foreign courts?

That is what I am thinking or perhaps being a bit more proactive in their approach?

The Knights of Lastwall have a main goal in the form of defeating Tar-Baphon and the Whispering Way. As a force for good, they're also looking to put an end to other evils. This can include the likes of other undead, including Geb, but also evils that aren't related to undeath. So, wherever good needs to be done, it's likely that at least a few knights will try to be there. It wouldn't necessarily be the entirety of the organization's focus, but there's always a chance that a few knights can be found almost anywhere.

Ah, good to know! I had zoomed in a little too hard on Tar-Baphon/the Gravelands/undead, and didn’t know they got up to much of anything else - thanks!

I feel like it isn't too odd to see the Knights in other parts of the world. 892 years passed between the sealing and release of the Whispering Tyrant, so they had nearly a millennium to expand and redefine their mission. Anywhere a large undead threat exists is likely to spur their attention. Plus, they are THE quintessential "knights in shining armor" for the setting. So I feel anywhere they believe is in dire need of valor and virtue is also likely to draw their attention, such as the Worldwound.

EDIT: Luis beat me to it. Lol

I can read. But that didn't happen over a millennia. Either way, I don't engage with bad faith posters.

I'm not sure why I'm a "bad faith" poster or where you seem to believe I was questioning your ability to read, but I can assure you that my post was in no way an attempt to be offensive. So I'd appreciate it if you didn't jump to conclusions in regards to my intentions.

That aside, Tar-Baphon was sealed away within Gallowspire in the year 3827 AR. He then escaped in 4719 AR. I am certainly bad at math, but I am fairly certain that that is approximately 892 between those two events. I'm also fairly certain that 892 rounded up is 900, and that 900 is 100 years away from 1000, with 1000 years being a millennium; which I did say nearly.

It’s a Lost Omens book, so I wouldn’t expect much more than the knightly options we’ve already heard about.

Being a knight is more a calling than anything. So a Wizard can be one too.

That said, I do agree. I'm certain there will be things a Wizard could take, but probably nothing specifically made with them in mind.

In Golarion maybe. On Earth, knighthood was historically a somewhat different thing. These days, of course, one might be knighted for just about anything. Frankly, I've never understood how the concept fits into Golarion's society.

The following classes get new feats in this book!

Spoiler:
alchemist
barbarian
bard
champion
cleric
druid
fighter
oracle
ranger
sorcerer
swashbuckler
witch
wizard

Combine that with the new spells, equipment, and magic items, and there's likely some new toy for every character.

It occurs to me that if a party escaped the mighty winds of the Eye of Abendego, a good way to get to the Emerald Spire would be to start by following the Golden Road.

So I'm assuming that these new Class Feats are largely standalone and not part of any Class Paths?

I am really wanting to play a hallowed necromancer/knight of lastwall wizard or sorcerer, maybe a dhampir.

Wow, this is really cool! Arazni's new art is absolutely standout. Nice to see some lesser-known deities get a chance to shine as well, like Suyuddha and Vildeas. Kind of sad Gorum didn't make the cut though. Lastwall was consistently featured as a major place of worship for the god of war (whose religion seems ubiquitous in many of the regions bordering Sarkoris, and the KoL's corner of the world in particular, from Realm of the Mammoth Lords through Belkzen all the way to Nirmathas in the south), and Urgathoa's specifically singled out as an enemy of his. Knights paying homage to him seems like a fun way to explore a different take on the Knights of Lastwall as an organization. Regardless, this preview's got me royally psyched for this book. Good stuff, and amazing insights from Luis about the setting, as always. Mad genius, he is.

If you’re okay pausing and squinting a lot, there’s a LOT of cool stuff to see! This book was one I was very cold on when it was announced, but I’ll be snagging it on launch day now.

Kazutal’s writeup has a bit that made me weepy, and I’m obsessed with the art for Kols.

I love that they literally showed like everything but the last two pages. Lol

I'm sure most of us are still buying it regardless. But it is still amusing.

I am actually super stoked for this book. Knights aren't usually my goto character to play. But this has me very excited to do so.

Also, Armored Coat confirmed. My Gunslinger dreams are complete.

I’m tickled by a couple recurring characters in the art; the Half-Alijae knight in the armor covered in masks from the Mwangi book shows up again, as does the Knight who was loading a revolver in LOCG (this time holding an inferno pistol and explicitly labeled as being Numerian). I wonder if they have names somewhere?

If it’s any comfort, he’s in a few of the Pantheons.

No official names for them. These are just fun easter eggs we like to include for readers. It also helps from a development standpoint to point at existing art and say "draw this person but now they're doing X" instead of having to describe a brand new person from scratch.

That Shining Sentinel sure looks a lot like Calrianne Blix from Giantslayer.

At least Monks got some new feats in the APG. Investigators haven't gotten any new feats since their introduction. :(

They definitely left it out just for you. :p

It has to literally be on the last page, 123. I did a cursory glance over each page and didn't notice Arcadia or Tian-Xia. Page 122 does go into regions beyond the Gravelands and Inner Sea. So it seems reasonable to assume they are mentioned on the next page. Lol

LOCG mentioned unwilling undead in the ranks of the Knights, hidden by some kind of divine magic, but I don't think I saw anything of the sort in the video. Did I miss it, or did that detail not get expanded on here?

I'll have to double check, but there is at least ONE undead knight amongst their ranks, a Vampire poet known as Illeana Tessthake, who is a member of the Crimson Reclaimers. I haven't read her page yet, but I'll look further into it tomorrow when I'm not fighting sleep. Lol

Of all the things for me to miss, three undead aliens is a pretty impressive one - thank you for pointing it out, I love all things Castrovel!

EDIT: Yeah, you weren’t kidding! Here’s hoping we get to meet Princess Misovyel someday and her alien servants someday.
