A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for level 5 pregenerated characters.
Over recent decades, numerous incidents at the Pathfinder Society's Grand Lodge in Absalom have damaged the priceless collections, destroying many documents outright. The Society has sent the PCs to Nexus House in the arcane metropolis of Quantium, hoping that the second oldest Pathfinder lodge might contain duplicates of the lost texts to copy and study. Yet the PCs are not the only ones interested in the secrets preserved in Nexus House, and the PCs find themselves on the trail of unlikely criminals.
This adventure makes use of the 5th-level pregenerated characters available as a free download.

This scenario is fine (2.5 or 3 stars) for veteran players & GMs, but would be terrible as an introduction to PF2e.
The library research section is a bit long, somewhat ending up as a "roll dice repeatedly until you achieve enough successes" activity. Additionally, the scenario is set up so that the PCs can learn something that would be helpful for facing a certain enemy...but only after they've had a combat against those enemies.
There are too many enemies with a large number of and overlapping immunities, making certain PCs near-useless in multiple fights.
All that said, the final encounter was fun and the middle of the scenario provided nice opportunities for roleplay. The lore is tantalizing, and should provide a good payoff in later metaplot scenarios. The NPCs' personalities, quirks, and motivations were well-described and distinct.
I didn't play this until June 2020. If I had played this on-release while trying to learn PF2 I would have had an awful time.
Pregens only, combined with monsters who severely limit the effectiveness of some of the pregens is an awful combo.
as an adventure it does a reasonable job of setting off the events of Year 1, although it does seem really random out of context.
I'm glad I did it towards the end of year 1 rather than at the beginning. It wouldn't have had a brain-drop moment that 1-00 was important if I did it first, and it wasn't a -00 scenario, noting it as special
This was a great adventure in that it had something for everyone. All classes had soemthing to do in all parts of the adventure. Ron's NPC characters are mutidimensional, well thought out, and I find it a pity to kill them off. But have you ever tried to talk a group of blood crazed murder hobos to NOT kill an NPC? DC:30
I also liked using the pre-gen characters, it got me out of my box and I got to flex those roleplaying muscles. Perfect adventure!
The products whose numbers start with 10- are PF1 products, while the ones that start with 1- are PF2 products, barring serious thread necromancy for the latter.
Will this be openly available on July 31st / August 1st or is this going to be restricted to conventions? Asking since this one says unavailable while the others are listed as being available on one of those dates.

Thanks!
it’s also not listed in the list of scenarios in the PFS subscription, so i’m reasonably certain it’s either convention or star locked.
I am confused about how we're supposed to award the credit for this scenario. The chronicle says it can be rewarded for levels 1-5, but they only show gold for level 5. Should we be awarding level 5 gold to level 1 characters? Or is the amount supposed to be different?
There seems to be a lot of confusion about this scenario. According to the blog it is not exclusive and will be open to all, but it is not dropping as part of the subscription, or to VOs, and is still listed as unavailable....which is it?

At Gen Con we were informed that players could opt to save it for L5 and use the treasure table as written or apply it immediately at L1 in which case the treasure is 1.4 GP per treasure bundle (this is the standard L1 treasure) or 14 GP if all 10 treasure bundles are found.

Thanks for the information! That definitely helps a lot and will make it easier to run.
However, are you saying that they could gain more money from playing as level 1 and getting all treasure bundles than if they played at level 5? Or does the level 5 gold count as per treasure bundle?

Since gold is determined by character level, we no longer list the total gold for the scenario; instead we provide a table right before the Chronicle sheet that shows you the per bundle value for treasure bundles at that level, and then you simply multiply that by the number of treasure bundles the party actually finds. The section immediately below that table should call out any easily missed or tricky bundles.
Unfortunately, we lost the 1-4 table entries for this scenario (likely an accidental last minute "clean up" since this is only intended for play with 5th level pregens), but if you have any of our other scenarios, you can pull the treasure bundle values from those when applying the Chronicle to a level 1, 2, 3, or 4 character.
If you don't have another scenario to check that table, the numbers are:
1 - 1.4 gp
2 - 2.2 gp
3 - 3.8 gp
4 - 6.4 gp
We should have a full table for these values added to the guide in the near future, and I'll look into seeing if we can get the table in this PDF updated appropriately.
Missing some monster stats, and Aonprd.com doesn't have the full stat blocks either, so currently you can't run this scenario without access to the bestiary. Hopefully, this will be resolved soon.

VOs might want to email them if they have not got the PFS2 scenarios yet. I email them and received mine the next day. Hopefully they will get it worked out for everyone else soon. Since this is a Special, you will have to buy it separately from any subscription, or that is how it has worked in the past.

I have a non spoilery question. There is an opportunity for the players to acquire something for 15gp. If they spend money from their pregens do they have to show that as spent on their chronicle? What if they are taking 1st level rewards? Would seem cruel to charge them 15gp on their 14gp income.

Many of us could really use this going up for sale. I know it had been a pain in the ... to get this to my GMs because I am the only one that has it.

The communication on this has been terrible! It's frustrating that you have people anxious to try your new system and maybe pull in new players with what seems like a kick-off scenario. You've previously communicated it would be available at launch. You're advertising it in your e-mails. Yet people can't buy it and no one is sharing what the deal is or when it will be available. If there's a reason to hold back (such as an intention to make it a convention exclusive for a period of time) then please let people know.
