Raen Varkath |
Raen cautiously inspects the various ingresses. Which direction do the doors open? In or out?
Dungeon Master S |
Raen looks over the building with a discerning eye. All of the doors seem to open outward.
Dungeon Master S |
Potentially more information with Perception and some specifics about what you're doing.
Raen Varkath |
Raen leads the way up to the smallest door under cover of her invisibility spell. Upon reaching the door, she casts silent image to conjure the illusion of that same door, also shut. She then nods to the halfling to open the real door for a peek inside.
Botting for... |
Whistle Pig resists the urge to whistle, to swing is sling, or to do anything besides be the best scout that he can be. They're counting on me, so let me see what I see.
He then listens to the door, looking it over for traps.

Dungeon Master S |
Whistle Pig checks out the door and while examining it, catches that not only is this door locked, there's an old school bell-on-a-rope alarm. He carefully disables the alarm and then unlocks the door.
The room contains a giant-sized bed, two tables covered with alchemical and witch paraphernalia, and a number of shelves for personal possessions, including a sizeable collection of herbs, mushrooms, alchemical reagents, and spell components.
The door across the way is locked, from your side.
Map updated.

Knowling his way around a brewery, and having ruined a batch or two in his early days as an apprentice, Vael shares what he knows.
Profession (Brewer): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Dungeon Master S |
Raen recognizes a cauldron of brewing sitting on one of the tables (Whoever the master brewer is, they are likely a skilled witch) along with the components of a complete alchemist’s lab.
Vael and Whistle Pig both concur that there's MORE than enough here to poison a lot of beer or wort. Way more than you could possibly need.
There's also a full gallon of Alchemist's Kindness.
There doesn't seem to be anything else of note in the room. While there is a footlocker, it's currently open and empty.
Whistle Pig |
Pig nods in approval has sees the plethora of poison in front of him. he turns to Vael with a pat on the shoulder and a smile," do Your WORTS (worst, I know I know it's bad)"
WP turns his attention to the next door.

Whistle Pig finds this door unlocked and untrapped.
The door is warm to the touch, and the smell of hops wafts into his nose as he checks it. On the other side he can hear the sounds of clanking and bubbling, the brewery is in use. What's more, he hears the sounds of a single massive pair of foot steps walking around...
Tulia |
Tulia emerges from her protège's body. She holds a crossbow, and quietly loads a bolt into the weapon.
Vael Oakfist |
Vael makes a knocking sound with his tongue, tock-tock, and with a gesture his skin thickens and takes on the texture of tree bark. He nods to indicate he's ready.
Whistle Pig |
With that nod, Pig gives a quiet command to Cleo and she takes a short flight and lights on Raen's shoulder."keep her safe, My Dear." Raen is confused if the command was directed at her or the bird...
WP opens the door as quietly as possible.

Dungeon Master S |
Remember, make sure the map is up to date when you go through a door!
A single vast chamber occupies most of this building. Flickering torches set ten feet above the ground are interspersed throughout the building. Tiled stone covers the floor. In the center of the main room sit four huge vats, each ten feet tall and chained to a wooden catwalk constructed above them. Along the west wall, a flight of steps ascends to the catwalk, with a single roof support rising from the center. A smaller room is evident in the northwestern corner of the building, built on a raised, partial second floor. Two doors lead from the northern and western catwalks to this chamber. A strange contraption fashioned from a brass kettle bristling with a series of curling metal tubes sits on the floor to the south near the stairs. The heady scent of fermenting grain hangs heavy in the air. Barrels and kegs litter the floor.
Within is a lone giant, a frost giant of impressive stature and accursed comportment. When the door opens, he looks up from what he's doing to lock eyes with Whistle Pig!
"Minä murskaa kehoni jalkani alle!"

Ushyle |
Before WP opens the door, Ushyle casts a spell on himself to dampen the noise, then moves alongside the halfling. Once ready, Milani's Thorn in hand, he gives his friend a nod.
Casting silence.
When the door opens, he moves with as much speed as he can, reding the giant's movements, until he just manages to get the giant within the radius of his quietude. Double move, study target as a swift action.
Raen Varkath |
Raen curses under her breath and casts haste. Should get Ushyle too, since I act before anyone else.

With nary a sound, Ushyle skulks off to do what he does best.

Ushyle |
Silence is a 20' radius. Haste requires all targets being within 30' of each other. It's theoretically possible.
I can't argue if the GM says no, though. Sfounder's call.
Vael Oakfist |
Vael moves in chanting to the spirits of air and sky. With a clap, two balls of pure lightning appear, swinging to a stop where the giant flies.

Wings fluttering excitedly, Tulia swoops into the room. She moves effortlessly, moving up to be 10ft above the platform level (perfect flight, 90ft speed)
The crossbow in her hands thrums angrily, alerted to the presence of the giant. "Hold your horses," she chides the weapon before letting a bolt fly.

Hamilton Renaud |
Huh. Guess we're fighting.
Ham guides Applejack into the room and pulls his bow, nocking an arrow with magically enhanced speed. He let's fly, and in a blink there's another arrow and then a third flying through the air towards the flying brewmaster.

Ushyle |
Ushyle lets the grace of Milani wash over him, and the familiar rose-red hue washes over him as he charges with haste through the growing alcoholic pool, its terrain un-difficult for the half-elf. With a thought, he banes Milani's Thorn against giants and strikes!
Free action for agile feet, swift action to bane, charge as full-round action. AoO provoked by coming within the giant's reach (should survive, especially with the Roll with it trait).

Seeing the giant come level with the platform, the shaman opts to put one of the group's best weapons to use: Doxon. Swirling starlight surrounds the warpriest, and moments later he is displaced to maximum effect.
Consuming a 1st level spell to Amplify Hex on Heaven's Leap.
He then bends his will to position the balls of lightning closer to the giant.
Tulia |
"This is only my second time firing this crossbow. What's your excuse, my halfling friend?" Tulia chides Whistle Pig, then reloads her weapon and takes a second shot.

Doxon's miss gives the wounded giant some encouragement in his hubris. He continues to fight on! He ignores Doxon, flying to the side of the room and casts a pair of spells. The first seems to go off with but a single word!
