It's kind of hard to show you... but each box is designed to fit all 18 of the tiles from a single Map Pack. So the interior dimensions are the same as a regular Map Pack: 5"x8", roughly a quarter-inch thick. If you've seen the box that Map Pack: Sewer System—and all future Map Packs—come in, it's just like that.

If it's the exact same thing as the box around the new map packs, are you guys also going to release a similar things for flipmats? I really need an easy way to store those as well!
But this is an awesome product! I'm going to order a bunch after I count all my map packs.

Because the Flip-Mats just have a wrapper, and not a box, we weren't planning on it... but I'm sure we'd consider it if there were sufficient demand.

I am not as wealthy as Mark to buy 41 of them, lol :)
I am also not wealthy enough to buy 41 of them. I added them to my shopping cart, but I haven't submitted the order yet. Still anticipating the uncomfortable questions my wife will pose were I to make such a large purchase without at least mentioning it to her first. ;-)

"Uh, honey, I purchased a whole BUNCH of empty boxes. That's ok isn't it? <blah, blah, blah> Whats that honey, how much they cost? Well they were very cheap. Aunty Lisa told me I could use my employee discount, and my bud Mike told me they were a deal!!"
"Thanks honey!!"

$123 for a bunch of empty boxes...
How could that not go well?

Just start leaving the 738 individual tiles scattered around the house, and soon enough, she'll *insist* you buy the boxes!

I'd purchase a couple!

If it's a physical box, how is it hard to show us? Put it on a table, put a map pack in it, snap a picture, upload to the product page - presto, you're done.
Am I missing something here?

If it means I can store the Flip-Mats on a shelf with the spine labelled, I'd certainly think about buying a full set. Storing them flat in an art carrier keeps them flat but its a real pain finding the one that you want.

Yep, the new map packs already have a box. No need for a new sub!

I just put 41 of them in my shopping cart to store my complete set of Map Packs. Having OCD tendencies can be really expensive sometimes.
Tell me about it. I started a second subscription to the maps line a while back...
Presumably they are identical to the sewer pack box? I found that a little snug, to be frank.

This, definitely this! It is frustrating flipping through trying to find the right one, when a labeled spine would make life soooo much easier.

Yes, it's basically the same box as the one that comes with Map Pack: Sewer System (and will come with all the new Map Packs after that).
Map Packs have actually changed thickness since the beginning—they got thicker when we added the write-on/wipe-off coating—but you can fit even those, along with the "front" and "back" tiles, in the box. (That particular configuration is a bit snug, but it works.)
You'll note from the product image that there's a space on the front to write the name of the pack, and there's a similar space for labeling each side of the box.

You sir, are a horrible man... I approve.

The box isn't a bad idea for storage, but I think something more like a card filing system might work better for convenient access and actual tile use if more than one tile set is being played with.

As much as I would like to support this product, it's 2.99 for a box that holds 18-20 tiles. I would much rather pay a little more for something that I can use to keep more than just one set of tiles together and sorted. This is something that I will have to pass on, but I can see the use for other people. Not a bad idea for a product though.

If you're like me, you actually need 42 of them. The series began at PZO4000 GameMastery Map Pack: Village. (Which for some reason doesn't appear on the Map Packs page.)

It is on the page, though if you're viewing by release date, it's not sorted to the top because our system is using the date that the *PDF* edition was created. (It's out of print, and currently only available as a PDF.)
But you are correct that we released 42 Map Packs before we added the box.

A bunch of companies make 5x8 card files that work great for Map Packs. (Check your favorite office supply store!) This product is nowhere near as cost effective as something like that, but it does offer a uniformity that no other product can match.

I found index card files to damage the map packs (the ones I used had little grooves in the base which scratched and dented the cards when you flipped through them). The best solution I found were A5 ring binders with two back-to-back cards per plastic sleeve. You can get five similarly themed map pack sets in each binder and can flick through them very quickly to pick the tile you need.

Hi all!
Paizo - is there any chance we could get a 42-pack option in the store with a bit of a bulk discount, please? I would love to obtain these for my map sets, but $125+ for a small stack of empty boxes is a very tough pill to swallow. :)
Thank you.

In my opinion, this product is not a storage solution.
You should instead develop a single box solution complete with printed index cards for easy organization and separation.
Have you seen how greater/than/games released a Master Box for storing your Sentinels of the Multiverse cards?
This is the direction I would much prefer you develop in the future.
If you lay a map pack on its side, it measures 5.25" 'tall' and 8.25" 'wide' and most packs are about .5" thick.
In an 11.5" long box (using the above Sentinels box as an example), you could fit 22 map packs and index cards in one unit. I would happily buy multiple units (in this format) to store all my packs.
Why don't you package/sell the map packs in the small boxes and increase the price and remove the separate SKU?

That would be reinventing the wheel. Office supply manufacturers already make great solutions for storing 8x5 cards, and because they can manufacture them in volumes we couldn't dream of, there's no way we could ever come close to the price they can offer.

Just wanted to give my two cents of my o.c.d. advice. It bugs me how when you put the tiles in the box that the bottom tile always hits the bottom flap of the box that is tucked inside the box if you aren't really careful, causing the tiles edges to get all ragged and dogeared over time. So I use some clear hocky tape and tape the edge of the bottom flap against the inside of the box so that there is less of a sharp angled edge for the tiles to jam up against and they slide right in. I know that is probably being way too obsessive, but I hate my tiles and maps gettng damaged. I also never fold my flip mats again once I have unfolded them the first time, so that I don't wear out the folds. I made a great big portfolio out of foam board and 100mph tape to keep them safe in and to transport to games. If Paizo would make a cooler heavy duty flip mat portfolio with nice artwork on the boards, I would totally buy it. I have been trying to design a map portfolio that also doubles as a GM screen, but still working out some bugs on that. I also think there should be discount bundles of these map pack sleeves for those of us who need a lot of them, maybe a 25 sleeve bundle and a 50 sleeve bundle to take the sharp edge off of buying so many sleeves.
