A dwarven woman with black hair and tanned skin, wearing a breastplate and holding a very long spear, stands next to Paloma. On her left cheek you can see a small birthmark in the shape of a butterfly - the same as the wooden symbol around her neck.
"Lady Luck's blessing, Sobek al Saleef. I am Cortina, Cortina Hagen - humble cleric of Desna. I see we share a preference for long-hafted weapons. Nice to meet you!"
Sobek inclines his head in a respectful bow, the haft of his guisarme resting across his palms. He gives the weapon a light, habitual tap against the floor as his eyes briefly take in Cortina’s spear and the butterfly mark she bears.
“Lady Luck has guided your steps well, Cortina Hagen.” His voice is calm and measured. “A long haft keeps danger at a respectful distance—and rewards patience.”
A faint hint of a smile touches his expression as he meets her gaze.
“I welcome a cleric of Desna at my side. May your road be clear, and may our weapons keep watch over one another.”
Sobek accepts Paul Montrose’s offered hand, his grip firm and steady, the calluses of stone and steel meeting polished rings without comment. He inclines his head slightly at the mention of titles, acknowledging them without ceremony.
“Sobek al Saleef. Titles matter less than conduct, Baronet Montrose.” His voice is calm, even. “Discipline in cooperation is one I respect. A strong arm is best used in service of a steady plan.”
He releases Paul’s hand and turns to the woman leaning against the wall, his dark eyes briefly taking in the darkwood shield, its painted sigil, and the cheetah at her feet. The animal earns a moment’s consideration before Sobek nods in approval.
“Paloma Redclaw of the Shriikirri-Quah,” he repeats carefully, honoring the name.
“And Cheeper.”
The corner of his mouth twitches, almost a smile.
“A watchful hunter is never a burden. Nor is one who knows the land.” He shifts his grip on the guisarme, tapping its butt once against the floor. “As for Jack—every company needs someone willing to face dangers of a different sort.”
Sobek straightens, addressing the group.
“I am glad to stand with you. If we keep faith with one another, the road ahead will break before we do.”

Reaping What We Sow
I'll be starting another game up in a few weeks. Not sure what scenario it's going to be, but if any of you have any suggestions or need a scenario to play due to your faction or whatever, feel free to fling them at me. Even if it's not for the same character that you played in this game.
You all have dibs on first seats at my table!

Reaping What We Sow
T'was the game before Crit-mas
And all through the home,
Not a PC was rolling,
Not even the gnome.
The party was resting
And so were the players,
While feasting on pizza
And nachos in layers.
The GM was hidden
Obscured by his screen,
While highlighting upcoming traps
in bright neon green.
They'd won a hard fight
And gave it their best,
But the battle was over,
The world was at rest.
The Drow were all snuggled up
Safe in their caves
With visions of Dwarves
Failing Fortitude saves.
No bandits did burgle,
No merchants were trading,
The Orcs all asleep
From a long day of raiding.
The temples were silent
No songs from their bells,
The Wizards had given up
Casting their spells.
When outside the game room
Came a booming reception,
That everyone heard
If they made ther perception.
And who should be summoned
to the plane of the living?
Why, Pathfinder Santa!
The Warlord of Giving!
With a loud cry for battle
He kicked in the door,
Our group caught flat-footed
From his initiative score.
He stood 10 feet tall
What a sight to be feared!
With an Ogre-like gut,
and a Dwarven-like beard.
His platemail was crimson
With runes green and gold,
A candy cane halberd
In fist did he hold.
In his off-hand he carried
A heavy brown bag
Weighed down by its contents
of treasure and swag.
Our group went dead silent,
Our fear, it was stressful,
His intimidate check
Was quite clearly successful.
We dodged an explosion
Of minis and dice
As he lept on the board
and roared "Naughty or Nice?"
Lawful or Evil?
Greedy or Fair?
If it's all in character,
I really don't care!
You've solved many riddles
And slain many hoards,
Now turn in the XP,
It's time for Rewards!
With a deep hearty laugh,
And a stomp of his boot
He tipped over his bag
And dumped out our loot!
For the Ranger:
A Composite Longbow +3
And a magical ring
That can summon a Tree
To the Bard he did hand
An enchanted War Drum,
And an ancient black bottle
of 90 proof Rum.
For the Wizard? New scrolls!
What a magical feast!
From a new Arcane Handbook,
yet to be released.
For the Rogue, two keen daggers,
One black and one white
That would keep him well hidden
As he snuck through the night.
For the Cleric, a symbol
Of the goddess of healing
To prevent all the damage
Our foes would be dealing.
And last but not least,
Our own Dungeon Master,
Neither Monster, Nor Fighter,
Nor Cleric, Nor Caster.
"For you, Mr. GM,"
He said with a squeal
And he gave him new dice
Forged of real Stainless Steel.
"They're wicked and lucky,
Much more than you'd think,
And sure to roll 20's"
He said with a wink.
For they both knew the secret game
GM's all played
It matters not what they rolled,
Just the sound that they made.
With a cry to the heavens
He called out to the night
And a Dragon descended
To him from its flight.
He swung one leg over
And they took to the sky,
We all cheered and waved
As he shouted "Goodbye!"
His entrance was sudden,
His exit abrupt,
We'd survived the encounter
And all leveled up.
You could hear him call out
From the dragon he'd tamed:
"Merry Crit-mas to all!
And to all a good game!"

Reaping What We Sow
As Aurelia wanders through the festival grounds, the air alive with laughter and the earthy scent of carved pumpkins, she realizes there are no formal games or contests—only the rhythmic scrape of knives and bursts of chatter from the carving tables.
Still, a cheerful noise catches her ear: giggles and the clatter of something striking wood. Just beyond the square, a group of children has set up a makeshift game along a split-rail fence, balancing a row of empty glass bottles across its top. One after another, they take turns hurling small stones from a short distance away, whooping with delight each time one topples.
When they spot Aurelia, the oldest—a freckle-faced boy with straw in his hair—grins wide. “Hey! You there, miss! Want to give it a try?” He tosses a smooth stone up and down in his palm, eyes bright with mischief. “Bet you can’t knock down two in one throw! I'll even give ya three chances. One silver says you can't do it! If you win, I'll give you my lucky token!”
He pulls out a small, wooden charm with the crest of Rosehaven engraved on it dangling from a leather string.
The other children erupt in playful challenge, waving her over eagerly. “Come on, miss! Let’s see if you’ve got a good arm!”
Here's your chance, Aurelia! You're trying to knock down two bottles in one shot. AC 19. One bottle is AC 14. Ranged touch attacks with an improvised weapon. You have 3 chances.

Kazuki tries to take it all in. He is completely flabbergasted.
"Wha—? What's going on? We're in some sort of time loop? We're not real? But, wait. This is a dream world, right?"
His eyes go wide in confusion and he throws his arms up in the air.
"What the heck is going on!? If it's not real, why are we here? Uggghhhh!!!"
Kazuki drops to his knees and puts his face in his hands. He tries to make sense of it all.

Reaping What We Sow
I don't have the answers to all of your questions—only what they gave me in the scenario, however, there are some answers to other things that you may wish to know about also.
What is your hunch?
“I’m afraid that if I had more information than a nagging instinct, I would have already told you.”
Why did you stare at us when we were introducing ourselves?
Petulengro shrugs. “People are not always who they claim to be.”
Was Armeline involved in espionage?
“In Galt, guilt and innocence are too often tried at the court of public opinion. Whether or not her actions truly constituted espionage had little bearing on her purported crimes, much less the intentions behind what she was doing.”
Can you tell us more about Rosehaven?
“It’s a village along the Sellen River, home to several hundred people. Its isolation shields it from the cycle of revolution, for the most part. Its people make their living primarily through farming and fishing.”
Why are your servants dressed that way?
Eliza sighs. “The ribbons represent the guillotine. Each of my servants has lost someone dear to them at the hands of the revolution. Here in my lodge, I can provide them some manner of protection from the outside world. They wear the masks so that their association with their relatives and confidants does not doom them to the same fate.”
What is the revolution?
“Galt has long been home to brilliant artists and philosophers, whose independent spirits produce a hotbed for new ideas. However, the recent history of Galt is a story of blood and turmoil. Ever since House Thrune came to power in Cheliax, Galt has been trapped in a churning cycle of revolution. Quite a few past governments have fallen, and their leaders and supporters have met the guillotine’s blade. Each new government promises to rectify the ills of the last and bring peace and prosperity.” Eliza flashes a knowingly wry smile. “As a citizen of Galt,” she announces with a veneer of patriotism, “I say that our current government will surely succeed at its goals.”
A PC can ascertain that Eliza doesn’t believe the current regime is any better than the last dozen, but she’s watching her words to avoid being considered an enemy of the state.
The Festival?
"It's a small, 3 day autumn fest dedicated to Shelyn. I heard that villagers hollow gourds, carve them with fanciful and even frightful designs, and then place lit candles within to ward off evil."
Do we have a formal letter?
"There is no formal letter. You will need to earn her trust to convince her to forgive the Society." Using diplomacy.
When you finish asking Petulengro your questions, the venture-captain invites you to enjoy the rest of the evening at Woodsedge Lodge. You have time to purchase any items you would like in Woodsedge before departing. It's a 10 day journey up the Sellen River to Rosehaven.

The rat may get an AoO from the undead. Maybe both. Going up steps is considered difficult terrain. You didn't mark on the map the movement the rat took. On my update, which I'm going to do soon, I'll go ahead and make the opportunity attack, just let me know if the rat's movement was enough to avoid the AoO. Initially I planned the rat taking route indicated by arrows I drew. I'm not sure if 40 feet is enough in difficult terrain so I moved it two squares down where it would take AoO only from mint undead. Since the rat has an intelligence of 2, I'm going to rule that the rat would attack the closest threatening creature. I do not think it has the mental capacity to make tactically advantageous decisions like moving all the way around a combat just to get to a creature and position itself in a flank. It would most likely attempt to make a direct route, scampering under creatures legs.

Frequency: once per day.
Prerequisites: Unexpected Sharpshooter Dedication
Trigger: A creature targets you with an attack, even if you aren't aware of it.
Your enemy lies in wait, lines up the perfect shot, and pulls the trigger... then at just the right moment you duck down to notice something scrawled on the cobblestone in chalk, a shiny coin, or some other coincidental distraction, creating an opportunity for the attack to miss. The attacker must roll the attack twice and use the worse result.

Going to take a day or two before pushing us along.
=) So sorry to hear. I'm helping to take care of 2 feral kittens and the mom that live behind my house. Been feeding the mom for weeks and the kittens look sickly, but, from what I've seen of feral kittens here in my yard in the past, they most likely will pull through.

"As you will be around for the next few hours, it would probably be less suspicious if we were to grab a table and have a few rounds before heading back out to pass the parcel off to you. Although, the doctor makes a good point. Why do you need a group of us for something one of us alone can carry? Is the bottle from a giant's wine cellar?"
"By all means, take your time if you wish."
"How many Pathfinders does it take to light a lantern?...
Just one…
…plus the cleric to bless it, the rogue to check for traps, the wizard to argue about light spells, the fighter to hold it, the venture-captain to take credit, and three more to write the report for the Decemvirate."
"Now hurry off and get my parcel." he says before slinking down the alley and disappearing into the shadows.

It is a holiday weekend after all. I'm good with slow posts.
Cheers!

Piotr steps forward to address the Captain.
“Captain, your words cut deep—and true. I’ve seen what you speak of: nobles shedding titles like snakeskins only to coil themselves tighter around power. I've walked halls where liberty is preached, yet behind the doors deals are struck no different from those in the Taldan Senate.
But I do not believe we must abandon all thrones to free the people. Milani fights for those who rise up and for those who tear rot from within. She does not demand we forsake every banner, only that we refuse to be blinded by them.
I am a baron by Taldan decree, but my hands are calloused from labor and bloodied in revolution. I do not wield my title to rule—I wield it to protect. And if I can cleanse my own homeland of corruption from within its courts, then I must believe the same is possible here. Not easy, not clean—but possible.
You take a daring road, and I do not fault you. The world needs firebrands willing to carry the flame where governments cannot. But as you march into the dark, know there are still those of us who remain in the halls and chambers, holding the line, fighting to ensure liberty isn't just a dream we export—but a truth we defend at home.”
Piotr sits back down, realizing he, too, has given a sermon.

I noticed that feather tokens are now called marvelous miniatures. I cannot find alchemist's fire. Did it change names to something else?

"Great Baekho, Lord of the Seasons, White Tiger of the West,
I bow before your fierce wisdom and tempered strength.
As autumn’s winds strip the leaves from the trees, so too do you reveal the truth beneath the veil.
Grant me your courage to face the storms of life,
Your clarity to see the path before me,
And your fierce protection to defend the sacred.
May I honor the balance of nature and stand with strength and grace,
As you stand eternal, guardian of the western winds.
In your name, I pledge my vigilance."
Religion (T): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
As Kazuki's prayer echoed across the sacred bridge, the wind stilled, and a crisp, autumn breeze swept over him. For a heartbeat, a mist rose from the forest below, shaping into the ghostly outline of a great white tiger. Its piercing eyes met his, and a surge of warmth flooded Kazuki's chest — a fierce, steady courage settling within him.
Then the mist faded, and the forest stirred once more. But Kazuki felt stronger, his spirit bolstered. Baekho had heard his prayer.
A hero point is always welcome.

Hearing Halmont stomping down the stairs as he makes a run for it, Piotr is hot in pursuit.
Double move and taking into account the table in the bedroom as difficult terrain, Piotr is right behind The Professor on the staircase.
"Halt, Halmont! You can't get far. We've barricaded all of the exits! Come peacefully, or we'll need to use lethal force!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Piotr accidentally smacks himself in the mouth with the table as he throws it aside when making a dash to rush after Halmont.
"Ouch!... Halth, Halmonth! You can'th geth far. We've barricaded all of the exiths! Come peathfully, or we'll need to yooth lethal forth!"
"Dammit. I think I lotht a toof."
