Cidi medic for me then. Ill habe him up amd running soon. Was curious though, since the cidi are tiny, can they use weapons? Can my Cidi fire an SMG??

Are you looking for just one player? I'd be interested, I have a wizard who could be adapted pretty quickly.

Totally interested, chalk me down as committed. I am amped about your approach, looks just like the way I like to game!

You guys still there? Im about done.

Cool. Do you want us to roll for wealth or max it?

Lol cool. Ive read the mechanics amd feel pretty comfortable with the system now. Looks cool! What are the Cidi racial stats?

Probably tech op, but I don't want to be useless in combat or die instantly, lol

Groovy! I'm downloading the player's guide. I'm pretty open to the kind of character that I would play, but I have a concept of a Cidi engineer/hackerish kinda character.

Heya! Still have slots open? I'm totally into the idea of a space campaign. I know nothing about the Alternity setting, but I'm looking it up now.

Story So Far:

Meng Ren Rui immigrated to America ten years ago. Fleeing the repercussions of the Taiping Rebellion, Meng finds himself meeting another wave of pilgrims recovering from their own civil war, and Meng cannot help but find humor in the irony of it all.

Having been swept up in the clamor of war, Meng Ren Rui developed a latent talent for medicine. His time spent caring for the wounded turned him against the destructive ways of war, and he set out to find peace with the world in the far off continent of America.

Traveling with the Railway construction gangs as a doctor of all animals, he eventually settled into a nice town and established a practice as a veterinarian, there being plenty of sick cattle and horses, and he is still called upon for human treatment by those who know him. There is trouble sometimes from the more ignorant folks, but even they can't argue with his results.

Shortly after Meng Ren Rui arrived in the town, while he was prospecting where to build his hut he discovered a tall boy whom Meng was very sure was dead. Halfway into covering the young man with stones the kid cried out, suddenly. Immediately setting to work on his injuries, the kid made a rapid recovery for reasons that Meng has learned are sometimes more to the patient than the caretaker. They have been easy friends ever since.

The Judd-Matlock Gang barely merited Meng Ren Rui's attention until a few months ago, when what were passing inconveniences became murderous raids as the crew began targeting the town directly. While he swore he would never take a life again, he readily volunteered to be deputized after his surrogate brother without bothering to try and dissuade him. They never spoke about the bloody ways that they came to meet. Meng Ren Rui had been trying to ignore the sensation that there was still peace to be made with those pasts, but there was no denying the determination in the Kid's conviction. And hell to it all if he was letting him go alone.

Meng Ren Rui packed his mule with all that he could carry comfortably and set out into the desert and last known direction of the Judd-Matlocks. Meng has seen blood and battle and war and death, but he came to be where he is to find a path that leads to healthier ends, and he won't abandon his quest lightly...

Saving a spot for my Spider Man idea. I'll post all the stats and backstory here soon!

The animate rope spell (which is mercifully 1st level) would be Spider-Man's web slinging. This allows you to direct the animated rope and tie around things and entangle enemies. The Equipment trick (rope)-lash allows you to use 10ft of rope as a whip. With greater whip mastery and the feats leading up to it, you can grapple with a whip and tie opponents up with a minimal penalty. They also allow you to use a whip as a grappling hook (and swing around) and to retrieve tiny items and make they whip more combat viable. With fighter BaB and the greater grapple tree, he would be able to do as spider man does in the comics- leave tied up goons ready for the pickings. I like the street performer bard archetype for Spider-Man cause it seems to fit what he does when he works with other super heroes, and provides a convenient method for Peter Parker to switch into his Spider-Man costume! However, I notice that there is another Spider-Man bid who was here first, and I have another idea that would work as Venom with the same web slinging mechanics using sorcerer with the Orc bloodline, reworked to have acid immunity rather than fire.

Heya, I am interested in joining this campaign, I have a bard/fighter spiderman build that I am really interested in. Whip mastery and animate rope account for his webslinging. Whats your opinion on Pearls of Power for spontaneous casters? Cause if no, then he becomes wizard(or magus)/ fighter and I have to rethink some things....

EDIT: Oh, I guess if no that wouldnt be that big of a deal. They would all be his cartridges of web (animate rope) anyway.

I'm adding the finishing touches and will have mine completed soon.

It does! I really like the idea.

Ciphus Allemain is a NG elven inquisitor. Burdened by his conscience for his previous career as a confidence man, he renounced all mis-truths, and journeys to untangle them.

Character roll will be versatility, straight inquisitor with a few other gimmicks. I've wanted to play an inquisitor for a while, and have been ironing out the concept. I'll build the numbers, and post back the full character in a little while.

Heya folks, I'm a player in Jen's game.

Just sayin, I'd rather not see this die because UberGM is MIA. I support what ever decision you all make.

Also, what is the final ruling on consumables? I agree that 1000 is a bit high. I think 200-600 would be optimum,, if we were even to use them. It would be important to know what replenishes anyway, for those of us who use ammunition. But as far as things like, say, potions, that'd only be enough for a second level spell or two. Whatever you all think would be best.

Ditto, no worries though. We are ready to join up with whatever we do next whenever.

Lol, for sure!

I am preparing a character, I will have him in before too long. By the way, what is the ruling on consumables? Will there be a minor (100-300gp,or x percent) replenishment of them each round?

I would totally be ratfolk special investigator Sabatini.

The world is not enough!

EDIT: Oh, I seem to have had the same inspiration you had, Minoritarian

lol, for sure. I'm sure they'll be back soon. Maybe we could ad lib in the meantime? By the way, Brie, all knowledges can be made untrained, but you can only "know" up to a dc 10 that way.

Advanced class guide playtest came out, the site crashed a few times from too much traffic.

I never read trainspotting, was a good movie though. I've done a bit of theater, and I did one show called Dark of the Moon, which was sort of inspired by the folk song Barbara Allen. The whole script was in a deep southern accent which was a lot of fun. Interesting bunch you all are ^_^

I think it's cool. I like it, and I don't have any trouble reading it. Gratz on the tests!

Conan meets Ravenloft? I am even more interested than when I first read the post.

Oh, no worries. Real life first. I'm getting close to my exams too, but I am not studying medicine, lol. Best of luck on your tests!

Lol. Me too. Seem to have had an overboard reaction...

I'm reading a lot of hostility in your words, Karson, and if that is not the case then please forgive me.. We all have different schedules, we all have lives and work and sleep.

However, I think it is not very nice of you to essentially single someone out and threaten to leave if you don't get your way. If you have a problem with something specific, please say so. Good communication can help a lot.

Some people are going to post on a schedule that is not optimal for you. Play by post is chaotic. I'm sure there is a compromise we can all reach as a party, and as a group of people.

Hello everyone! I generally post most in the mornings and evenings, eastern standard time.

Gratz everyone!

This campaign prospect has me quite a tingle ^_^

If you have a final spot open, I have a character.

Sebalius Fathoms is a half giant diver graduated of the shadowvale orphanage. His family estate was absorbed by the fog long ago, and through the ages the family declined and fell apart and he was taken in through their doors. Under their careful tutelage his inner gifts blossomed, and he found that where he directed his focus, his energies followed. Being naturally agile and strong, in his adult years he has found work as a diver, adorning a leviathan suit to attend to the riches that hide in the cursing depths under the dark and cold of deep waters. Sebalius was fearful at first, spending the moments of descent in trepidation of the mysteries of the deep, but he was soon overcome. Y the eternal peace of the dark truths that awaited him at the bottom: the only true fear is what you bring with you. Having faced a right of passage, he is ready to adorn the suit to brave the fog touched lands, not only for his family's pride, but also fly his adopted brothers and sisters, and for other deeper and darker reasons he is only comfortable fathoming under the heavy helmet of his profession.

I know I'm a bit late, my roommate is in the campaign and I've played with some of these folk before. I heard you were a little lighter than you had intended? Half giant marksman, with intentions of using a harpoon in a sponge diver suit. Regardless, just let me know, I I know you've got a lot of quality aps around ^_^.

Im still here

So, hows everyone doing?

Mine and Llyr's. We're trying to wrap it up.

Oh, though fight number 2 just happened.

Hahaha, that was interesting.

As far as optimization is concerned, the idea for this "campaign" is entirely combat, so we're all going about that in different ways cause of our different ideas. And no character can cover all the angles, which is what makes it fun. Combined with the eternal and (nearly) inescapable fact that you will totally fail 5% of the time, there will be times when it all goes terribly wrong. This ring is full of lazers, lol.

Ready ready

I am so excited to see how that plays out.

Meng Ren Rui and I are ready

Right, but Meng was blown up anyway, lol

Where'd the arena map go??

EDIT: Hiding, oh so cleverly, in the campaign info tab under the deceptive heading of "The Arena." Well played, arena map. Well played.

Well that sounds intimidating, lol.

Whenever is good for me.

Like an aquatic arena. Or one full of plant creatures.

... or a zero g one...

Cool.

And yeah, I really like the different arena type idea.
