Simply terrific news. I hope both sides are able to come to an agreement with relative haste and limited acrimony.

I love that each has been mentioned by at least two people (pretty sure at least). There's no overwhelmingly obvious choice, either mechanically or for cool character building.
Going to take a sec and enjoy how rare that is.

Yeah, you can be a single-classed Wizard and pick spells from any tradition in Pathbuilder. The app makes no attempt to validate that. You're just supposed to know what you're allowed to choose from.
Becoming trained in primal DCs and spell attack rolls is pretty much just there to let you use the spell the feat grants and that's it.
That said, maybe just let him tinker with his bloodline spells?

Is there a feat that makes your voice go all intense and crazy while you're inventing? I haven't checked yet.

The chicken or the egg doesn't actually matter here at all. There's simply no point in reinforcing the trope, consciously or unconsciously. Good riddance.

Today I learned some people don't meticulously track what's stowed in each container for their character. Going to need a moment.

I love Pathbuilder 2 so much. Some people on their phone with the Facething or the Twitweet. Me, I'm figuring out options for building a viable half-orc wizard/fighter.

They said on the stream that the planetouched ones were going to be heritages. They were a bit cagey about whether they would be completely universal, but they're supposed to be available for multiple ancestries at least.

Gygax acknowledges the fictional roots of the game's druids right up front in the AD&D PHB:
"Druids can be visualized as medieval cousins of what the ancient Celtic sect of Druids would have become had it survived the Roman conquest."
The class was never meant to closely model historical druids.

Flannigan
ABC: Half-Orc \ Scholar (Arcana) \ Wizard (Universalist)
Weapon: Falchion
Catchphrase: (grim stare)
Studious, focused, and determined. Uses True Strike a lot. Fighter dedication with ancestry weapon specialization. Alchemy dabbler. Skill feats primarily used for alchemy and medicine.
Pretty interested to see how much a non-alchemist can take advantage of mutagens now that they're common.

Failure builds character.
Also we can learn from this. When Paizo is set to release Pathfinder 3, we'll know to lock the doors at the Paizocon banquet and collect all of the cards before anyone is allowed to leave.

Jason Bulmahn, Game Designer wrote: So yesterday I let folks know that with just 5 choices, you could get 42k different characters... To dispel any confusion, I was talking about your choice of ancestry, heritage, background, class, and major class choice!
...
So, a woodland elf leaf druid, who grew up in court would be 1 of the 42k.
As would a razortooth goblin fighter who was raised in the fighting pits.
Hope that helps people see what I was excited about. Just a fun bit of trivia...

Conceptually I like the idea and potential design space for ancestry archetypes. Feels like this implementation needs some refinement, but I like where you're going with it

Seems like a simple, much needed framework, which can be easily discarded or adjusted if a particular table wants to. I like it a lot (presuming it's used in PF2 release and future supplements). Any strenuous objection to this is just baffling to me.

A lot of the things I'm liking about PF2 have already been mentioned. I only wish I had more detail about the system right now.
One thing that I haven't seen yet: It's all still going to be OGL! Thanks Paizo, for keeping the game Open!

How tied to the setting will the ruleset be? Golarion provides a sandbox to explore many, many different fantasy tropes and gives you guys a platform to expand the ruleset in different ways. Will this setting/ruleset similarity enable many different SF tropes?

1) Holy merciful goodness.
2) My god, it's full of stars.
3) Will there be support for post-apocalypse settings? Clearly this won't be part of the main-stream Starfinder world, but I'd love to see some muties in there.
