Pathbuilder 2e (android app)

For anyone who hasn't found it already, Pathbuilder 2e for the 2e playtest is available on google play for android devices.

It's a character builder which can export a pdf character sheet, or act as a character sheet to use during play itself. There's still a lot of work to be done to it, and some things I'm putting off until 2e is released properly.

If you find bugs with it, you can report them here or use the link in the app (which leads to the same place). I've just updated it to reflect the changes in update 5. Also please note that I decided to leave the resonance test out since it isn't fully formally part of the wider playtest.

I hope you find it useful!

Sounds awesome! And it's prompted my weekly bout of wishing I had an Android instead of iPhone. XD

That's awesome. Definitely be keeping an eye on this. :)

Any chance for a Win10 version? Using my phone is nice, but I would love to be able to use my tablet for this.

I'd like to port to a web app at some point, but it's a long way off. I need to get pathbuilder 1 up to day, and if there is time before 2e launches its either a starbuilder app or a web app port of 2e.

I figured as much.

Still, love this. More options for character tracking are always appreciated. :)

I've used this app. Can't recommend it enough. It makes creating a PF2E character so much easier than ploughing through 200+pages and flipping forward 100 pages.

Actually using the app, I found that the PF2E character creation process is actually quite smooth when presented in a clear manner without the page flipping and fluff.

PF2E is in disparate need of a fast start PDF.

General curiosity: Do you accept pull requests somewhere if the community wanted to help with the project?

I've used Pathbuilder for 1st ed, and found it very solid, so I was excited to see this post, and immediately downloaded it to give it a whirl.

I've been planning to run a game on Roll20 for ... ok, months ..., and most of the players are still in the character finalization stage... (I've got a 10th level home brew planned, and no one's been doing DD so far...)

While Roll20 has some good features, this app blows it out of the water for usefulness, and will likely fast track the game better than anything else.

It's usage as a resource to look up things alone, like feats, spells, magic items, can not be emphasized enough.

Others have praised it's ease of use for character building. I'll add my voice and highly recommend it for anyone that's at all confused about the process after reading the book.

This will save me personally, 15~30 hours, for this game alone, in pregame prep time, by having the parties sheets at my finger tips in a MUCH more useful format...

No, sorry, I just keep it as a solo project.

I've been using the 1e Pathbuilder for what seems like forever now and I'm super excited for this! Thanks for the heads up!

I have reported a mistake you've made regarding the feat "Read Lips" on your bug report page.

Currently, as of Pathfbuilder2e v1.5, the feat is listed as a General feat only. However it is a Skill feat as well, as it is listed under the Society Skill feats list on page 162 in the Pathfinder Playtest PDF.

Please let my rogue pick the feat at level 1, pretty please. :)

Thanks again for this app! I ran a Holiday one off using the Pathfinder Playtest rules and this made creating higher level characters a piece of cake! Thanks for maintaining it and including the 1.6 update. The interface was great, only issue was some crashes around exporting to pdf (may have been due to my pdf reader).

This app is the single most amazing support for PF2.

I'm trying it out. It seems really easy to use so far. Did it get updated to the new UTEML values yet?
When the final game comes out, I would definitely do some sort of pay a few bucks to buy it or remove an ad or however they do it.
Very cool app.

This app is really great. Even better than the 1e app, which is decent. I am looking forward to the update when 2e officially comes out.

This seems to be (at least partially) updated to 2e. Great app, still. When will it be on iOS?

I'm quite impressed. Indeed it does seem to be working for 2e rules instead of the playtest now. I've purchased the app to remove the ads and support the developer in the early days of the project.

Another thing I noticed and approved of: It's PDF export is a fillable PDF, so if the program has any issues (it's young, it has some issues) or features that aren't yet included (Pathfinder Society backgrounds), you can manually fix the PDF before printing.

I noticed that also. Really, really impressive.

Honestly I would love to see this on the Windows store. Or the OSX store (if there is such a thing). I would pay for it on each platform (or just put up with the ads, since those probably make you more money anyway?).

Can you add pictures to your character sheet?

Not sure where to ask, since the app doesn't seem to have a "home base", that I can find at least, so ill try here. ;)

Can anyone tell me what the 'backpack?' tick means when you create a container in the gear tab? I presume its to signify that you are wearing it instead of carrying or stowing it, so the weight of the container itself is set to negligible rather than L. But when I tick it, all the items inside the container also become weightless.

I'm guessing it accidentally sets it as a bag of holding instead?

Reiterating this request. I have players that use and love this with Android devices, and other players that have iOS devices and can't use it (Though they would love to)

I've been impressed with how many rule customization and condition tracking stuff you put in. I'm hoping we'll see the variant rules introduced in the GMG supported in Pathbuilder in the future.

If you have a Windows XP or newer machine, you can use MSI App Player to load Pathbuilder 2e and Google Drive from Google Play and use it on your PC to manage your PCs.

1> install MSI App Player. 2> Log into the Google Play
store with your Google account inside MSI App Player environment. 3>

from the Play store. 5> Build or load a character. 6> From the menu
in Pathbuilder 2e, Export to PDF. 7> Select Character sheet. 8> When
Google Drive pdf viewer loads, hit save. 9> Rename the file so you
can find it on your Google drive. 10> Save to Google Drive. 11> Open
your usual PC browser and log into your Google Drive (outside of MSI

There are other Android emulators out there and they all have their quirks. This one seems to be the most stable with the tools needed to use Pathbuilder 2e well. MSI App Player is a stripped down and more compatible version of BlueStacks. It creates a Sandbox virtual PC and runs Android in it, with full functionality of a Galaxy S9. So you can't save or load files from you PC into the box unless you go through a virtual drive, like drop box or google drive. Since google drive is native to it, it's the easiest to use. Plus it allows you to retrieve it at other locations. If you have an AMD chip instead of Intel, it will give you some warnings about VT and so forth. Just ignore them. If you get the VT warning on an Intel chip, don't worry about it, as its not needed for Pathbuilder. You do have to log in with your google
account like you would if setting up a new smart phone, but non-google
data doesn't go anywhere but in the sandbox the program creates. Having an AMD processor has its drawbacks. On Intel processors is works like a champ! In fact on my old i3 quad-core with 4gm memory it works fantastic. You can change settings and so forth on a non-AMD chipset just fine; very stable. It's stable on the AMD chipset so long as you don't try to change the settings our use speed boost; then it just shuts off without warning - the standard setting work just fine, so it shouldn't be an issue if you have an AMD chip like I do on the home theater PC.
