Not meant to be an advertisement, but sharing good tools feels like the right thing to do. I just searched for "pathfinder 2e" in android play store, found a builder with a wine red background and winged sword as the icon and it changed my life for the better. I've been making characters on my phone while on the bus or lazying with a coffee, and it also allows to export an editable pdf, easily uploaded to a GM's google drive or dropbox.

Best part is it calculates everything and makes it all easy to navigate level by level. It has minor ads at the bottom, but they're not annoying or in the way, first ad-involved app I'd recommend to anyone.

That's Pathbuilder2e. It was already arond during playtest and is now in early access for the final version of 2e. There's still some issues, but overall it's already working pretty well.

There's also a PF1 version, by the way.

I'm gonna add it to my collection. The level by level approach streamlined a lot for me because I didn't have to write everything down into a document manually now. Tracking level by level stuff has been the most tedious for me at least.

The whole pdf that's also editable was just a bonus.

I am but a herald. A sharer of things. A kindred soul. Just a hobo on a bus.

I love Pathbuilder 2 so much. Some people on their phone with the Facething or the Twitweet. Me, I'm figuring out options for building a viable half-orc wizard/fighter.

On a similar note, my table has been using pf2.easytool.es and it's an amazing quality of life enhancer. I can queue up the BBEG's favourite spells for immediate reference, or quickly check what exactly sick 2 does to someone. One player says she can't imagine playing without it any more.

Between this and Pfbuilder... The only thing I'm missing is something like combat manager for a quick monster database.

Until a 2e version of CM is available, these might do the trick.

Is there an iOS version?

No and it's unlikely that there'll ever be one. The developer has stated multiple times that he has zero experience with iOS and simply can't do it.

That being said, I vaguely remember him saying that a desktop (or browser-bawed) version is in development. I would assume that one would work on iOS.

You can use an emulator like blue stacks to use it on desktop

Slick, I'll definitely recommend this to my players.

Although, the only thing I keep running in to with these sorts of things is the lack of flexibility. For example, one of my players is an elf with the half-orc heritage. While I recognize that's not something a lot of GMs are going to allow, it IS something that is explicitly called out as possible with GM permission in the Core Rules.

And yet apps like this often don't even have a way to manually override your heritage and put in something like that...

The mythic tier for the first Pathbuilder app was best money I've ever spent on an app.

I used the play test app, and was excited looking forward to him making the 2e app. Not disappointed. Help him out and put some money towards his work.

This was my favorite aspect of the Character Builder (CBLoader) for 4ed D&D. It was pretty darn easy to edit the files and make custom arrangements.

Herolab does a decent job of allowing custom content/input. My big issue with them is paying the licensing fee when I own the books. I prefer books for general perusal and content absorption, but apps/spreadsheets for character organization and building.

Ok, that's really cool. Thanks for pointing this out. I love how you can look up multiple things and just use the right/left arrows to go through them! :)

PS: the button to copy the link to your clipboard is awesome too. It's a really well thought out.
