I'm pretty okay with combats being quick, smooth, and non-challenging (especially in PbP). More time to do the rest of the stuff.

And now that Diri knows she'll be able to cure the Bleaching(!), all she has to do is figure out how. Work to do!

Before the ritual, Diri will use her fox's cunning SLA on herself and Ariana.

A fight with more demons or a library that most humanoids never lay eyes on? That's a silly question.

That's pretty reasonable. Diri wishes she had time to take notes instead of fighting.

Diri takes a step backward and (assuming it doesn't look like it can reach me) casts blessing of fervor on everyone save for herself and Winston. (This includes Valais.)

Seeing that the injured azata is still alive, Diri channels a burst of positive energy almost as a reaction, (Chanelling: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 4) = 15) moving to assist the victim.

Again, I sincerely apologize for everything. I hate being that guy who just disappears when involved in a group project.

Diri scrawls several notes about how a "shadowy duplicate of oneself could multiply productivity by a factor greater than one with a maximum as optimal as double but more research is required." Looking at Ariana, she notes parenthetically, "(Punching oneself seems to injure the duplicate- -noted for completeness)."

Returning to the wall, Diri waits for some sort of mechanical signal that Turak is successful. If there is none, she will offer a second set of eyes on the mechanism.

Disable, if needed: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18

I'm not up yet, but I figure I'll get these out of the way.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Non-action.

"Such close quarters are ideal for the first order optimal combat strategies of Aikio and Turak and myself which leads itself to poor results when they are employed by enemies with similar tactical advantage," Diri assesses, envisioning lots and lots of fire.

"Disassembling a locking mechanism is not easy in laboratory conditions far more controlled than ancient temples in the Worldwound ergo a preliminary investigation into the location of a second key would be a worthwhile pursuit," Diri concurs, secretly hoping to see the same vision- -this time she'd be ready to hold out longer.

After the visions:

"To discredit the information learned in the visions is to misunderstand their purpose as someone or something caused us to see what will be stained with what cannot come to pass," Diri explains. "I regret that I was not determined enough to see more of it before the pain overwhelmed my consciousness which bears the question of the duration of my unconsciousness?"

Diri scrawls notes regarding the details she remembers.

"We need to ascertain the cause and solution to her affliction soon lest her psyche shatter completely," Diri states, observing the fleshy mass covering the doors. "Once again we will have to clear the demonic taint from the walls before proceeding," she adds, looking to Rilas and Aikio, who have proven to be able to rid said growths.

Also, when Diri falls unconscious, her armor animates and keeps her upright, as per revenant armor.

If you can observe Diri:

Diri screams in Gnome (she rarely speaks Gnome- -it's an imprecise language), a horrifying mixture of pain and regret as she succumbs to some unseen terror and falls unconscious. Careful observation shows one lock of her normally orange hair is now a stark white stripe.

I can't wait to finish this adventure and peek at what everyone else is seeing.

Diri makes one last check of her equipment before beginning to mix chemicals.

"While the theoretic probability of successful procedural regeneration is nearly four in five you will want to minimize the mental stress before the procedure begins," Diri instructs.

"Listen for the Whisper."

In this PbP: My GM knows my characters goals better than I do. Holy s*%!. That's so obvious- -and never crossed my mind.

I hope it works.

"Simply a bout of reverie-" (nostalgia?) "-of an expedition into the Worldwound with the Pathfinder Society to reconfigure the mind of an associate," Diri calls to her acolytes. "Let us continue."

Sorry about being overly cautious- -I wasnt sure what was going on. Illusion, mindscape, some sort of maze-like spell, so I figured I'd play it safe before I accidentally influenced others.

Not sure if this is common player knowledge/observable to other characters, so I'll spoiler it in case.

"I am honestly surprised it was successful as the probability was considerably closer to zero than one would hope for a dangerous course of action," Diri announces, turning to Rilas as she enters the corridor. "Is your dog in possession of a compression factor high enough to allow him into tight corridors such as this?"

Going left, checking the door, detecting magic, all that good stuff.

Diri takes a few notes on the interatcion between the statue and both hallways, then urges the group to press on.

"Left with haste lest this magic fix itself."

"I believe the desecration we imply is miniscule in scope when compared to the unbounded encroachment of the Worldwound and its Abyssal energies but there is a nonzero probability of temporary disruption on the flow of these energies," Diri says, motioning for whoever plans to knock the statue over to be ready to try if her spell does not work.

She then casts dispel magic on the statue.

Dispel?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
GM Star ReRoll: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 4 = 22

"If the statue could be displaced the linked arcane mechanisms may be disrupted enough to alter the operation of either trap but that would require the combined force of as many as seven gnomes or two gnomes with the combined strength of three gnomes apiece joined by a third gnome of average strength," she remarks, matter-of-factly, looking to size up who the strongest in the group is. "Also it will try to kill us."

Not holding out hope, but does it seem bypassable via Disable Device? Or lots and lots of arrows from aways away?

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 Meh, was worth a shot.

Incomplete information makes for poor analysis.

"I concur with Rilas that the low-variance option to the right is more predictable therefore preferential to the high-variance option travelling left presents," Diri offers. "While certainly an improbable solution I can also attempt to excise the spell effect completely with considerable risk of triggering whichever outcome we are planning to avoid."

If the party agrees, Diri will cast dispel magic on the right trap.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

"Captain Durant and her fragmented personality are beginning to come in conflict with themselves which judging by her mannerisms is an uniquely occurring event," Diri states, her flat voice softer in volume but not in tone. She points a finger to the right, "the primary voice in her autoconversation seems to favor the passageway to the right but my confidence interval lacks the depth and rigor of a good argument towards either hypothesis."

Healed up and pressing on, then? Crawling, apparently.

If you don't mind someone who's GM'ed them first (and in the case of Ire, pretty recently (NukeCon, Oct. 1)), I'd be game.

Barring moral objections:

Diri will tag both of the injured with a wand of infernal healing, and agree with Albert's suggestion.

"Does the optimal positioning of our entourage involve myself in a position of incidence or is another permutation our most well-ordered?"

"The trap doesn't behave mechanically ergo its operation isn't one I can suppress the operation of without setting it off first," Diri remarks. "However, we can likely have the wolf or a dinosaur crawl into the pit and simply walk across its back affording us passage safely without considerable endangerment."

After that escapade, Diri will nod to Rilas, tap herself with a wand of infernal healing (and again 1 minute later).

"Your immediate response was both appreciated and highly efficient," Diri thanks the ranger.

Diri will cast detect magic to help pinpoint the trap Rilas is referring to.

Diri cannot activate a longstrider wand. Maybe I should invest in some UMD...

As Savage mentions the door is alive, she casts deathwatch to confirm.

While she will not likely abandon her beliefs in free thought and unfettered ability to share knowledge, Diri will be very interested in learning if the God-Callers believe the same. If that involves playing along, she is not above it.

"Unfortunately I know an infinitesimally small amount about your belief system and practices and appreciation of humanoid ingenuity and the reasonable discussion of ideas and advancement ergo I would be most appreciative of any effort you could consider to elucidate myself or my companions on matters of theological import and the nature of Laktharsis," Diri replies, eagerly grabbing a jounal and inkpen.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

"An exploratory excavation would be well within the capabilities of our team," Diri agrees. "Is there a high-probability duration of the length of the concurrent excavation project and moreover would additional manpower or logistic assistance be either necessary or preferable?"

Diri scans the nearby area for anything resembling a campsite where these people would be staying during the excavation.

"Probability suggests our goals are similar considering the effort you are putting into searching this inhospitable clime," Diri adds. "We have no desire to discard our lives in an assault on a superior force with optimal positioning."

Diri points to the area around her, to emphasize our state of non-aggressiveness.

"Diri Lizzenbettolze. Of the Whisper," Diri calls out to the archer, pointing to the symbol on her shield, as she makes a few quick geometric calculations in her head.

If she's trying to ambush anyone, her position is thoughtfully optimized.

"To what end are you overseeing an large-scale excavation operation in the improbable geography of the Worldwound?" Diri asks, logistically interested, and honestly impressed.

Diri casts revenant armor on her breastplate every sixth day while she is adventuring. Also, ant haul and endure elements are cast when travel begins each day.

Diri will do the best she can to not delay the travel, but it becomes pretty apparent that she moves slowly.
