A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 5-9 <8-9>
After two years of blood and bravery, the Fifth Mendevian Crusade has struck a terrible blow to the Worldwound’s demons and reclaimed lost territory. The Pathfinder Society, as one of the crusade’s partners in this endeavor, has earned the right to explore and salvage what it can of the lost Sarkorian sites under Mendev’s control, and it has identified one ruin as a priority. In fact, the site seems to actively call to one agent in particular, a scarred survivor of abyssal experiments. Venture-Captain Jorsal of Lauterbury has asked the PCs to accompany this agent into the wasteland, where perhaps she might learn how to control her demonic half—or purge it completely.
Content in “Thralls of the Shattered God” also contributes directly to the ongoing storyline of the Silver Crusade faction.

It's a first come, first served basis, with the game being held here on the Paizo forums and utilizing an open Google Sheets doc for the map. Expected posting rate is roughly at least daily, with exceptions for weekends and holidays.

The requested SubTier is the 8-9 range, though the scenario itself is 5th - 9th level.

Also, if you click on my DM avatar, I've written out a few gamming notes, a brief introduction, and just some general PbP things I'd like for everyone to read through. It's long, but not terribly so, and at your convenience. It's mainly dealing with issues I've seen come up in the past, and tips to help alleviate them.

I have recently updated it, so please take a moment to look through it, even if you have in the past. That being said, I'd also like to point out that I try to rule in the player's favor when it seems reasonable.

I try to give a few hours to a day for people to post, but in this case, due to the nature of the Special (timeline), I might have to bot folks a little more often than normal. Something I do when I bot characters is to default to a basic common attack or action (Aid Another for instance), that does not use up any tracked resources. Ranged ammunition being an exception. The only time that changes is if another character is about to die, but even then, I generally try to hold off as much as reasonably possible so that the player's get to make the choices and get the glory. So, when I say a basic action, I generally mean something like a weapon attack, using and pertinent Feats I can easily see on a quick scan that I don't have to look up.

I'm also generally okay with minor retcons, if it's done pretty much immediately (within a day and 1 action). I'm also perfectly fine with people posting actions outside of init order, as I will go down the roster and put everyone's action in order when I post.

Sorry, that was a little longer than I had intended. Right now, I'm trying to focus on finishing up a few games and prepping the Game Day games. Soon, I'll get things a little more established here, and ready to go. If you have not done so, please make sure you dot in the game play thread so that you can see all updates until the game begins, and feel free to introduce yourself and your character, and RP a bit.

Ok all. I just finished up my other game, so I hope to be able to focus on this and the other Game Day games more easily from this point on. Hopefully, Ill have a chance to do a proper pregame intro tonight or before the game kicks off. I'll also make sure that I have all the info for everything, and that Im ready to go.

Because there is a time limit involved, I do try to push pacing a little more than normal. Please do what you can to remain active and proactive. There is always the chance of running another scenario right after this as part of the Game Day, but I don't want this one to suffer to try to cram in more numbers. That's correct, you can simply pay the different between a +1 and a +2 item to simply upgrade it. So a weapon bonus +1 (2,000) to a +2 (8,000) just costs you 6,000GP to upgrade, and similarly with the Cloak, going from +1 (1,000) to +2 (4,000) only costs you an extra 3,000GP to upgrade.

Aikio can pass the spellcraft by taking 10 even on the water spells. I will purchase copying materials (copy) for good hope, ghoul touch, gust of wind, obscuring mist, touch of the sea . Quick question: what ability allows for the cures as wizard spells? Can I put them in my book even if I lack the ability to actually prepare them?

@Aikio Yes my spellbook is up to date.
As for good hope the cure spells are on my spell list only because I'm a Samsaran. With Mystic Past life I'm able to choose on another arcane spell list - in this case bard - a few spells to add on my wizard spell list . You can't use them even if you scribe it on your spellbook (but you can scribe it)

@GM yes, I will pay 970gp to scribe the spells from Aikio's book :)

Sorry about being overly cautious- -I wasnt sure what was going on. Illusion, mindscape, some sort of maze-like spell, so I figured I'd play it safe before I accidentally influenced others.

Sorry, I'm trying to decide what exactly I want to do here. The effects are based off of two similarly sounded spells that act similar, but have different effects, but at the same time, the actual "trap" seems to go outside of that a great deal, leaving me not entirely sure how it's supposed to work. I'm checking out the DM Discussion on it, and it looks like a lot of folks had the same issue, and actually did something very similar to what I did, which isn't actually in the scenario or rules to make it work. But, I'm also considering how long this might take in PbP. I'll have a post up soon.

I will say that it is not an Illusion (or lowercase illusion), a mindscape or mindscape-like encounter, or something like Maze, but something of a test and a hint at some of the theme.

Would it be meta-gaming to add one of the other characters to my 'future'? Galdur for example would be very concerned about Valais' future. Aikio & Ariana did defend the grand lodge from shadow lodge.
