About Ellie Doubledown

It was a good bet, she told herself, time and time again. But yet the swindler got swindled, and Ellie was broke. Bad beats are a thing that happen to someone else, she lamented. But a promise is a promise. My word is my bond.

While she never did figure out why the Karela fellow waived her debt for a promise of cooperation and a lead to 'honest employment,' maybe this 'Pathfinder Society' would be a bet that pays off.
