Again, I sincerely apologize for everything. I hate being that guy who just disappears when involved in a group project.
No apologies needed; let's worry about the important things- -it's good that you're feeling better.
Real Life Comes First.
I hope your recovery continues to progress. We're pulling for you.

Hey guys. So, a lot of you have probably noticed my absence in my games for the last month or so. I wanted to go ahead and apologize to all of my players that I was GM'ing for and all of my GM's that I just disappeared on.
Its really good to hear from you. It worries us when one of our own vanishes like that. I hope you can get back into the full swing of things too.

Know the feeling--the 'disappears' part, not the 'ketoacidosis'--but you gotta do what you gotta do. Good luck man.

Magabeus |

Putting my voice with the others: good to have you back. Nothing you could have done to be back earlier or let us know about it, so don't sweat over it.

GM Hmm |

Welcome back! I'm sorry to hear of your illness, but glad that you are feeling better!

DebugAMP |

Welcome back! And here we thought the devil got to you... your post count when you left was 666.
In all seriousness though, I'm glad to see that you're feeling well enough to make your way back to the boards. I hope you feel better day by day, and hopefully you'll be able to enjoy some Pathfinder in the near future!

I'll add my own "welcome back" message. Always a worry when someone just vanishes. Glad you are on the road to recovery.

Alton Underbough |

Reminder to all GMs: when recruiting for games or calling the players that signed up to check in *make a post on the recruitment thread*. With the change to the rules around here, some of us do not check the gameplay and discussion threads regularly. Thank you.

Was a great way to end a long career for my Paladin - 12th and retired! Well done by all GMS, thanks!

Congrats all those people who just wrapped up the Multi - what a huge one!
Looking forward to the next one...sort of... I'll still be capping at a smaller number of tables though :)
It was fun! A lot of fast-paced action. I almost thought Daeris might run out of arrows! ^_^

GM Qwerty |

So i pose a few questions to the field of PFS experts gathered here...
1- I had a lvl 11.2 Fighter who completed a scenario (Kortos Envoy) to get to lvl 12 and then his Rise of the Runlords Chronicle 4 kicked in at lvl 12 and bumped him up to lvl 13. His ROTRL Chronicle 5 does not kick in until he hits level 14 so how can he hit lvl 14? (already done Eyes of Ten and in the All for Immortality with another character)
2- I have a Warpriest who is currently at 11.2 and his Wardens of the Reborn Forge Chronicles kick in when he hits lvl 13 and takes him to lvl 16, but what can he do when he hits lvl 12 to get to lvl 13 since I have already done the Eyes of the Ten storyline? Was wondering if there are other lvl 12 storylines out there to do.

I would like to play in the next special. I won't be able to GM in this one, unfortunately.

Here is the spreadsheet I use to track my play.
It may be useful to you in figuring out what's available to play, feel free to make a copy.

GM Hmm |

I am glad that so many GMs want to play in the next special, because I want a chance to run it!
Hmm

Shifty |

I still have early Jan down.
I figure once Game Day ends we are drifting way too close to the Xmas period, so best to get on to the other side of New Years and kick off then.
I'll start rounding up GM's well prior, and then open up the floodgates again :)
It also takes a while to get Boons etc worked out, so will make sure I get in early. Dealing with the boons and support side of things is not an easy task (1 from 3 so far, not good odds)

Shifty, you know where to find me if you want to discuss things / help you in reporting / whatever for the next special!
Edit: I will send you a mail anyway soonish about some improvements on the reporting side anyway...

The Ruby Phoenix Tournament mod provides a 10-12 3xp chronicle, also a couple of levels of the Emerald Spire do as well. There are also parts of various Adventure Paths that can be played to go from 12 to 13 or 13 to 14.

Thanks Maga :)
I wouldn't have kicked off the YotSL had it not been for your prompting - now look what you started!
I'll have to go haunt Jesse/Iron Helixx too. I think he doesn't love me anymore because I send too many love letters.

GM Hmm |

It's okay, Shifty. I think we're both Jesse's ardent suitors. Though during the special, I abandoned Jesse to send love notes to Iammars. I'm so fickle that way.

Yes for a while my missives to Jesse were prolific, but at the moment I am running another con in the traditional style so I have been penning correspondence off through our RVC and Tonya, and it seems our relationship was initally rather slow to grow and appeared unrequited, by lo my heart skipped a beat when I had a joyous surprise at reading her eventual lengthy reply and bountiful support for my most enjoyable weekend event... yay there were boons, and vouchers, and oh what fun.
I replied (in my coquettish way) that I shall be back in January to spend some more of the Summer time and seek once more her boonage as I run another Con, and I shall be busy also rekindling the spark with Jesse for the PbP Multi at the same time! Oh I am so shameless.
I shall not need to be bothering Iammars... yet.

Maybe you should change from "doom girl" to "stalker"...
In honor of the patience of our overseers.
___Now a PBP special is the best spectacle
With us all working together it’s like a festival
With slumber hex, rage and black tentacles
It moves like high octane gas
A PbP special is full of foes disposable
(Alas no vanara with toes opposable)
And the chance to stalk the posts of those who’ll
Lead us with such class. Woo!
Game Master Mars he has five stars
Let’s have a gameday, let’s have a gameday
We love you GM Mars with all your stars
Proceed to roleplay, proceed to roleplay
Now I really love how you have the knack
Of giving us statblocks for each attack
It lets us GMs have the NPCs whack
The living day lights out of our parties
But I have to admit that I get smitten
With every pestering note that I’ve written
To the overseer who never gets a chance to be sittin’
But must answer me (and now, please!)
Game Master Mars he has five stars
Let’s have a gameday, let’s have a gameday
We love you GM Mars with all your stars
Proceed to roleplay, proceed to roleplay
So maybe I’ve been accused of stalking
But honestly officer, we were just talking
Sigh, alright I guess I’d best be walking
If I will live up to being the Girl of Doom
Game Master Mars don’t think that I’m spastic
You're more than amazing you're more than fantastic
And believe me that I'm not the least bit sarcastic
When I look at you and say
Game Master Mars, it’s not just about the stars (no, Paizo, no)
You’re the one on whom we depend (let’s go out with a song)
Thanks for seeing us to the end.
Game Master Mars he has five stars
Let’s have a gameday, let’s have a gameday
We love you GM Mars with all your stars
Proceed to roleplay, proceed to roleplay
To the tune of Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup"

Anyone planning on running Orders from the Gate? I have a L9 character who happens to be a Hellknight, kinda keen :p
Sure, Shifty, I will answer the call! I'll set up the game this morning.

What's the level range? I have a Monk who'll be level 7 once she finishes her current adventure (and very nearly has, if I'm not mistaken). Most of my other characters (particularly at higher levels) are probably too Chaotic for a Hellknight adventure.

A lot of the potential in that scenario can only be realized if you have disagreement/different viewpoints. Of the three times I've GMed/played Orders from the Gate, the most fun was when a member of the Bellflower Network basically sabotaged the Hellknights.

Ive been playing with an idea, and wanted to put it out there for some feedback. What would yall think about a PFS round robin set up for the sanctioned content of the AP's?
What I have in mind: A group of 5 or 6 individuals get together and play the sanctioned portions of different AP's for Society credit. Each (or at least most) players take turns GM'ing and that alternates around the table. For instance: One person GM's Thistletop, the next person can either continue with Foxglove Manor, or move to a different AP based on group need/vote. All scenarios are reported and ran by the society rules covering playing AP's for credit.
Just tossing this out there for yalls opinion. I've been thinking about this for a while now. Has this been tried before? Although AP's have sanctioned content, I have never seen them advertised for play outside of the full AP offerings on the general recruitment boards.

I've considered the thought for a while for pbp AP but haven't gotten around to looking into it, I would be interested in how this goes.

GM Hmm |

The MN crew did this face to face with Dragon's Demand -- taking turns GMing. Provided all the players and GMs are of equivalent caliber, this can work great. Here are the issues that I see:
1) The first GM has to be fairly quick and set a GMing culture that everyone else can follow;
2) The first GM is the one that has to offer the biggest amount of trust, given the drop-out rate in PbP APs;
3) The group has to pick APs where most of the levels are sanctioned, or fill in with other modules and scenarios to cover gaps;
4) Each player will need to cover more than one base, so that the party does not lose it's only arcane caster when the guy playing the wizard takes over as GM.
5) There has to be agreement and group buy-in about covering for inevitable drops and no-shows due to real-life issues.
This is a really interesting experiment, though. I might be interested in participating in it, provided we could get the balance of GM and player styles to work.
Hmm

I'm in a group right now that's playing through the entirety of season 4 with rotating GM's. The biggest hurdle is finding a group of people that all have similar GM pacing, so that you maintain a steady, even pace that doesn't speed up for one game and crawl through peanut butter the next. The AP idea sounds pretty nice, I wouldn't mind being a part of it myself, but I'm not currently able to GM any games for a long while.

Hmm
Many of those ideas occurred to me as I have been contemplating this. My reasoning is this: There are so many AP recruitments that never get off the ground, I figured maybe this situation would present the best of both worlds: get the experience and play without the years dedicated to the whole AP. I had not, however, considered your points about the character assignments and other materiel. I guess I was thinking of pregens/ rotating out characters as needed.
Just as a note: this is an idea that I have had bouncing around in my head, not something I am imminently planning! If nothing else, GD5 is going to run right into the holidays, and so things are pretty booked until the end of the year. However, the amount of interest here is surprising!
