It looks like the other quest is going to fire, so I presume that Oskar Z. has dropped this table.
I will proceed with the five players we have presently and then offer this quest again in the future as promised.

I should not have presumed. Welcome aboard Oskar Z.

Hancok is taking a salve of antiparalysis as his Pathfinder Provisions.

![]() |

If I'm doing my math correctly, it looks like both Pennypockets and I would be getting a level bump. Any other mentorship boons?

![]() |

Hancock, but his is just a duplicate (Horizon Hunters Rugged Mentor).

GM Valen |

I am heading out of town tomorrow and may not be posting again until sometime Monday, February 10.

I am confused as to how Fast Movement (a feat) and Furious Footfalls (barbarian ability) interact. Should his speed be 40' instead of 30'? They are both status bonuses so it seems they should not stack, but then what is the point of the feat if it does not?

![]() |

Fast Movement is a feat in the core rulebook, and Furious Footfall is a feature in the remaster Player Core 2. I think the reason that the feat doesn't have a point is that they made it a feature in the Remaster.

![]() |

That makes total sense! Missed that when I 'remastered' the character.

Hancock, don't forget you have +1 to attacks and dmg
I added it my tag line so I will remember.

Is there any chance we'll finish by this coming Friday? That's my local gaming session, and if possible I'd like to play Aeinquel.
It is quite possible, but I am reluctant to make a guarantee at this point. We are currently in the last substantive encounter. I will do my best to post frequently and hereby request the other players to do the same.

I missed how the gnome is concealed. Did it cast a spell or is it just trying to hide behind boxes by using stealth?

![]() |

What is the form of concealment. Invisibility? Blurring? Dimensional Shift? chameleon like shading?
What does Hancock notice?
FYI: Hancock has Acute Scent and Supernatural Senses.

The gnome's form appears blurry.

I am now confident we can finish this scenario by Friday as long as everyone posts within the next 24 hours.

It appears that everyone but Jaehaera missed that I quickened the whole party for one round on my last turn. Oh well - I guess that's the classic dilemma of bards.
I remembered but the slow spell cancelled it out.
Hancock should be able to sniff him out. Not sure how this works. Can Hancock point out his location to the others? Does he have to be next to the Gnome or do a seek action? From what I can tell the supernatural senses ability only helps when 'targetting' him. Does that help on a seek roll?
Am I right in saying that Hancock knows the square the gnome is in using acute scent but would not allow him to point out his location? Or would he need to do a seek action and use supernatural senses to succeed and then point him out?
I'm thinking it may just be better to chase him down and pound on him.
Thoughts or clarifications anyone?

Acute scent is an imprecise sense. It still requires a Seek action to find a hidden target's square. To Seek, Hancock would choose an area to scan and make a Perception check. Once he finds his target, indicating its location to others requires a Point Out action/
Am I right in saying that Hancock knows the square the gnome is in using acute scent but would not allow him to point out his location? Or would he need to do a seek action and use supernatural senses to succeed and then point him out?
That is quite correct. Being invisible the gnome would be undetected, but the imprecise scent means that the gnome is merely hidden. The space he is in is known, but Hancock can't tell precisely where he is. Pointing out the gnome's location is its own Point Out action. Even with the Point Out action, the gnome remains hidden to your allies (but he is no longer undetected). Due to his Acute scent, Hancock does not need to make a Seek action, but his Supernatural Senses do not help find the gnome, they only help Hancock hit the gnome.
I hope that is helpful.

Please make sure that your sign-up info on RPGChronicles is correct. Also, if you have not posted it above and want the result of your Earn Income check to be included on the chronicle, please provide it below.

![]() |

That was helpful. I think, though, you are saying he does not need to do a seek action. so it would be 1 action to point out for others to use, then he would have two actions for other stuff.
earn income. legal lore: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Using Storied Talent boon to aim for a task at level 5.

Chronicle sheets can now be downloaded here.
Please note that some of you had multiple Earn Income rolls in the Recruitment and/or Discussion threads, so I went with the earliest posted chronologically.
Please let me know of any corrections or revisions to the chronicle sheets. The game has been reported.
I will keep this campaign active until I have confirmation of receipt of chronicles by all players or one week, whichever comes first.
Thanks again for playing and I look forward to sharing a table with each of you in the future!

Same for me - I only see Farnguy's chronicle at the link.
thanks again for running, GM!

The link takes me to Farnguy's chronicle but no others.

Oops.
Very well. This link should access everyone's chronicle sheets.

We're so demanding! (The chronicle looks fine, though.)
Thanks for running, and thanks to everyone for a fun game--and for wrapping things up quickly so I could play Aeinquel IRL tomorrow. See you around the boards!

Btw, did we ever figure out the gnome's motivation for betraying the Society? Just gold? Or something else more interesting?
Alas, you never did and with the gnome dead, there really isn't any opportunity to.
Even if the gnome had survived, it is not entirely clear from the adventure just what his motivation was for betraying the Society although it would appear to involve more than simply gold. Other than through an interrogation of the gnome, the only hint players can get about his motiviation comes from overhearing the medusa, who was the source of the feminine voice that hissed at the gnome. We are not told in the quest how the medusa was communicating with the gnome, but beyond the sound of her voice there is no indication that she was ever physically present. I could find no reference to any magical or mechanical communication device, but she is clearly not present during the fight and didn't really have time to flee before the PCs arrive.
The ledger that the party recovered is almost certainly the same one referenced in a subsequent scenario (revealed in spoiler below), which also contains a single reference to the same medusa.
Had he lived, the gnome presumably could have told you the name of the medusa and the name of her associated organization (revealed in spoiler below).
Arguably, the gnome had sufficient access to all of the information revealed in the Adventure Background (quoted in spoiler below) for the quest and could have been coerced/convinced to provide it, although his indicated "ranking" (as noted in the spoilered quote) sort of calls that into question.
Recently, the captain of the Technic League died under closely concealed circumstances, and the League fell into squabbling, murderous disarray within weeks. The survivors largely fled Starfall, and the Black Sovereign, freed from their control, has begun to break free from his addiction. Many fear that as he regains his senses, Kevoth-Kul will resume his campaign of conquest across Numeria.
The Pathfinder Society finds itself in a politically difficult position. The Technic League once roused Kevoth-Kul against the Society, using the warrior-king’s compromised state to convince him that the Pathfinders were stealing treasures and secrets that belonged to
Numeria’s ruler to invoke his wrath.
The Kellid warrior Dagur Hawksight has maintained the secret Pathfinder lodge in Hajoth Hakados, a small border town in Numeria, for nearly 20 years. Dagur has quietly worked to avoid drawing Kevoth-Kul’s ire while waiting for an opportunity to bring Numeria’s Pathfinders out of hiding and reestablish positive relations between Numeria’s leader and the Society.
With the Technic League’s power over the Black Sovereign broken, Dagur has decided upon a dangerous but potentially rewarding course of action: she has sent an invitation to Kevoth-Kul himself, asking the Black Sovereign to treat with her as a representative of the Pathfinder Society to start a new relationship between Numeria’s preeminent warlord and the Pathfinders.
The powers behind the Technic League have not fallen entirely, however. The gnome Khismar Crookchar co-leads a secret organization known as the Blue Streaks alongside his medusa compatriot, Gawta. Hearing of Venture-Captain Dagur’s invitation to Kevoth-Kul, Khismar has called upon a low-ranking double-agent inserted into the Hajoth Hakados Lodge to help him sabotage the meeting."
That low-ranking double-agent turns out to be the gnome, Zatqualmish.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess I'll keep my eyes ears open for a medusa in the future...
