"Well done." Kasit said. "That was some solid negotiating." Smiling, he added "It seems like we have two days to kill. I was thinking about seeking some work, so that we aren't burning through our water too fast. But we've also got a job to follow up on. Any thoughts?"

"I'm mostly wondering where all that offworlder junk came from, perhaps there's more out there somewhere for the taking." replied Ghir absently.

But then he grinned at Kasit, "But yes we have a job, and I'd prefer if we're not going in blind."

Watching the wild fremen woman leave, Borak turns and smiles at Kasit. It had gone better than he expected. Picking up the box with the small drone, he nods back the way they came. "I like her recommendation, let's go see this off worlder called Brown Boots and see what he knows about this drone first. Then maybe find a little work while we're waiting on our new weapons."


As you leave you go back up to the main area, if you ask anyone they will point you to the hanger. As you head into it, you see two guards and also a old looking Aniphopter, its a single seater and seems to have some odd looking pads attached to it.

A few tech are working on it and one of the pods. One has nee high brown boots on, which look very off world.

Seeing the mechanic in the odd boots, Borak figures out quickly how the man got his nickname. Approaching the off-worlder Borak interrupt, "Pardon me Brown boots, we found a piece of 'junk' at Mist-Lil's shop. She said you might be able to tell us about it." Not really wanting to let anyone else see the diabolical weapon, Borak adds, "Is there someplace we can speak privately?"

He puts down the part he is working on and turns to check you out.
"Your the wild sandmen who came in not long ago. Ye I know of you. come"

He walks over to a cloth covered are and ducks inside.

You follow and find a small living space, looks like his. There is a bed, table and more tools and work bemches. He holds out his hand to see the item. ITaking it, he gives it a once over.

"Harkcon hunterseeker, they use them to kill others from a distance. ITs remote operated from that head set and controller here."

He gets up goes to a rack, and taking out a HArkonen power cell. Slotting it in. her powers up the headset, puts it over his head, and taking the controller, activates, tthe headset and small insect like drone. Which hovers up into the air.

"Uses electromagnetic waves to power and control the Drone. FAst and deadly, but you have to be close, to control it; Say 200 yards max range. I got trained in them when I was in a house army,"

He deactivates it and pots the thing back into one box.
He holds up the drone.

"See the back of it there, small hole, you put poison in there. This thing stings ya, with the right stuff in it, your a good as dead."

Then he puts the drone way.

"Stuff like that is not cheap and there is no one here who can make it. That you rill have to find yourself."]

He holds out his hand.

As the off-worlder handles the 'hunterseeker' Borak considers the weapon and its range, two hundred yards was a fair distance to silently kill an enemy. As the mechanic places the battery in the device, Borak takes out the last vial of poison. Looking at it carefully so as not to accidently break the seal and poison himself, he turns to the others, "I think I can reverse engineer the poison, or make a different sort."

When the mechanic holds out his hand, Borak turns to the others and asks, "What do you think?"

Kasit frowned. ”Expensive…but for the job we are being paid to do? Nobody would expect someone like us making use of it.” With a deep breath he added ”I can see it as an investment…” He clearly wasn’t happy spending so much water, but it was clear to him that he didn’t doubt how useful it could be.

Nodding in agreement with Kasit's comment about being an 'investment' Borak turns towards Ghir. Raising an eyebrow at Ghir's comment, he comments, "I don't think I would use it against dogs, the poison would taint the meat and we would not be able to eat it."

Looking back towards the off-worlder, Ratel nods, "The price seems fair as long as you can recharge the battery when it needs done and you'll agree to teach us how to use it."

He gets stared, As he works another tech comes over and takes away the bod he was working on attaching it to the thopter. The night passes as you wait on him. He seems to be done, but then a low sound pings across the space. Boots hands you the now hole rifle and 6 shells, as well as a freshly bladed dagger made of the odd metal. Then head into his space and comes out with a blade.

"You handy in a fight, if so follow me, we have unwanted company"

He heads to the space you had the meal.

"Just in time." Kasit muttered. Taking the dagger made of the odd metal, he tested its weight. "Looks like you got your rifle too." He said to his kinsman, as he followed the others who were grabbing their weapons. "I have a feeling that we are about to earn some more water."

Ghir's eyes glittered as he considered Boots before nodding and getting up to follow. On the way he asked "This unwanted company, do they need to be driven off or is a more permanent solution required?"

Several things were going through Ghir's mind. Part of him hoped for a unambiguous situation, a clear enemy to defeat, another part suspected this was likely something far murkier, an inter faction conflict where it wasn't obvious what to do for the best.

He considered Boots' response if any, was this something they wanted to be involved with?

Having messed with the hunter-seeker a little Borak eventually tucks it in his pack. Nodding approvingly as Ghir and Kasit accept the other weapons from 'Boot.' Raising an eyebrow as the mechanic comes back out carrying a weapon, Borat moves with his cousins. Flipping his blades out from their wrist sheaths, he makes a mental note to acquire some daggers for throwing.

He chuckles at 'Boot's' comment, half considering taking wagers on who kills the most.


Boots leads you and You run to one of the mustor locks to the nother, its small and two other of the techs have joined you. Books suits up with a badly made off world Still suit as do the other mechs.

Comms chatter comes over a speaker and boots and the tech stop to hear it. YOu have no idea was said but its argent sounding.

"They have sand trucks and bikes, you seen em, big wheeled spice hallers, and fast moving three wheel things, must have airdropped em in.
Keepint to the rocks planes so no worms. Bas687ers!! We have to take out the bikes. You go left we go right, Ok lets go"

And the door opens, 1st thing that hits you is the found of fights and Gass engines revering.

Nodding at 'Boot's' explanation, Borak quickly takes the scene in. Turning towards the drop, "Nothing we can't handle." He smiles as he shifts the blades in his hands, "Maybe they'll let us keep the bikes or a truck."

Moving towards the edge he calls back, "Last one down is a Wali." As he slides down the cliff face.

Up till now Ghir has been playing everything straight faced but when Borak says last one down is a Wali, Ghir was reminded of being truly young once more. So rather than just following him down, Ghir did an almost perfect backflip before sliding down with great style.

Coming to the edge of cover, Kasit sent a pair of knives flying through the air. One went for the man directly in front of him and the other towards the man operating the closest vehicle.

Following Kasit forwards, Borak ejects the Crysknives from his wrist scabbards. Intent on finishing the job Kasit started with his thrown blades Borak thrust his fathers Crysknife at the wounded intruder.

Ghir took the measure of the man Kasit's knives had struck and found him wanting. Like Borak he moved to finish the man off with a sudden thrust and twist of his Crysknife.

I'm a little dismayed, Borak is on the opposite side of the bike than where I placed him, with no opportunity to move and flank. My intent was to focus on blue if Kasit hadn't killed him. I will try to keep my combat descriptions simpler and ask good questions before I post. For now, he will focus on yellow.

Realizing the invader was pointing a pistol at him, Borak breathes a sigh as the shot misses. Stepping closer to the yellow he slashes at the man with both his blades.

Stepping back onto the vehicle, Kasit threw another pair of daggers. One sunk deep into the dazed man's chest, causing him to pitch over and fall into the dirt. The other impacted into the man who had slashed at Kasit. He was unhappy at having been on the receiving end of a dagger, for he knew that even a shallow wound if untreated could fester and turn fatal. At the moment though, it was but a flesh wound and it would not be too much of a hinderance.

Not sure if it is needed, but if so Acrobatics to avoid AOO as he moves back so he can throw daggers. 4 out of 8 daggers thrown so far: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

"Blast!" Cursing as the smuggler stabs him, Borak is as upset about the tear in his still suit as he is the wound. Concentrating on ending the fight quickly he attacks the yellow fellow, slashing first with his right hand then his left.

Startoss Comet: You can aim a thrown weapon so it strikes two foes. Therefore, Kasit had 8 daggers to start and has now thrown 3. He has 5 left

Free to take his time in throwing his daggers, Kasit kept up his barrage. Børak's opponent, already reeling from having a blade planted in his gut, was defenseless as Kasit's attack finished the job.

Ghir knew the man was about to strike, but he wanted to end this and was willing to accept some pain for a gambit. He stepped in and to the side as the man thrust, wincing as a thin line of fire laced into his side. It hurt but he was past the man's guard and he went for the throat!

The fully of knives cuts down the last two.

As two more start to move up, then stop they hesitate as a shout goes up.
And turn to run back to the large Wheeled sand Truck. As you look you see others are running back, only a few as the fight seems to have gone you way. But then your see why they are running back. One of the attackers is starting to climb up to a large weapons roof where a larger weapon is mounted. Its some kind of rocket launcher, you see your the closed enough to the truck.

Seeing the pale blue smuggler climbing to the weapon on the roof of the sand truck, Borak starts to move forwards calling back to the others, "Ghir and you hit the smuggler on the truck with the rifle?" Biting short his question he focuses on the green smuggler, naturally assuming Kasit would deal with the other Pink one.

A rifle?! Kasit paused as he advanced, looking with worry towards the well armed smuggler. It was terrifying to think that at any second he might just drop down dead, with no way to defend himself. Another man with a knife? At least then it was a question of skill and determination. But nobody could outrun or dodge a bullet. He went to throw another dagger, but the shot went wide, as he continuously glanced over at the rifle-armed foe.

Seeing the men fleeing back to the truck, Ghir raced after one of them taking a swipe at the man's britches with his dagger hoping to entangle him with his own clothing!

If this dirty trick lands, the man will be both entangled (by his clothing) and blinded by stumbling into the sand. The +2 ia due to Charge kitsune style. The extra condition is due to kitsune tricks.

Seeing the men fleeing, Kasit threw a dagger at the closest one foe. Each one was full of profit to be drained. Which reminded him that he'd need to attend to the fallen soon, lest they lose their value.

As one falls so the other is it running as two knives hit his back and he drops. Your clear to run to the Turck if you dont want to deal with the fallen one. But if you stay and finish them the truck Smuggler will get another rocket off. Loading round for him.

Ghir rushed straight for the truck. He thought it jump would be easy, and normally it would be but he misjudged his footing and bounced off the chassis. Biting back a curse, Ghir picked himself back up and got ready to try once more.
