Zepth. |
Zepth also has Soothe for emergencies, but I think we get better mileage from Runic Weapon until we hit level 4 at least.
For thievery, Zepth will have that now, I'm doing a minor rehaul to his kit, though I don't intend to go past trained, as I have performance, intimidation & diplomacy as my main skills.
Ōtani Yoshitsugu. |
I plan to stay the course for Otani. He will always have a Heal for in combat emergencies. Hanu's Banana is great out of combat. If Olegaro's planning to take BM and Assurance then we should be fine.
Olegaro may enjoy taking Medic Dedication at 2nd...
rainzax |
I've been strongly thinking about archetyping into Herbalist for some in-combat healing as well.
But I think Hanu's strength lies primarily in preventing damage than healing it - if I can estimate where the fight will take place on the map, the Protector Tree acts as proactive healing, in a sense.
=)

Don't mind me, rolling for GM...

Chronicle looks good, thanks GM Frost!
So, I finally have a glyph to add to the hero point pool for this game. But were we already at 6 anyway?
Also, has anyone not played Q16 before?

An interesting idea, thanks. I've rejigged Olegaro so that he would qualify, replacing Toughness and Vicious Strike with Battle Medicine and Exacting Strike. We'll see how it plays in Q16. That will drop Olegaro's HP by 1 though (to 20) - I've updated the macros.
Zepth. |
I've played this one before as well.
GM Frost |
I am lazy to backread so I will ask again everyone about their GM glyphs for extra hero points.

FYI: I am going away this weekend on a camping trip and will be away from computers. I will likely have signal but limited ability to post on my phone and with little time to do so. I will check all of my games before I leave and since it's just the weekend I hope for minimal disruption.
I will return early evening on Sunday (US/pacific) time and catching up and resume posting.
GM Frost |
Kindly check the details on the sign-up sheet for Q16 The Winter Queen's Dollhouse linked above. If you have Downtime rolls that you would like to be included in the Chronicle, kindly post them below. I will send the link to your Chronicle in the next 24-hourish.
And congratulations to everyone, you are now Level 2!
I will give you time to make changes in your characters before we start the next game, S99-01 The Second Confirmation. Kindly sign-up for that below to get it out of our way. Once you have finalized your characters, I would like you to fill up the new Macros and Slides below that we will be using from now on.

yes, continued thanks for running this group Frost! These characters are feeling pretty "lived in" for just getting to level 2 :) There's really something to be said for group consistency.
Hanu, Friend of the Wood |
Lore vs Level Zero (DC 14): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7@ 1 copper per day x 4 days = 0.04 gp
Hanu doesn’t really know much, but he always shows up and tries his best.

I tried out the Herbalist archetype with one of my characters, but I found that I couldn't utilize it effectively during combat. As a result, I decided to rebuild my character. Maybe I just don't know how to play it properly yet! XD However, I find the Medic dedication more useful to me in combat, especially since I already have three characters with that dedication.
Zepth. |
Yeah, doctor's visitation is really good.

I also have 3. I find myself playing the Healer often...
I really like the flavor of Herbalist but the Action economy in combat not great for Elixirs.

Agreed, but, I have a Blessed One and a Medic and I’d like to try Herbalist out.
The goal isn’t healing like a cleric, but being able to revive a fallen character back into tenuous action, and I can always carry around one elixir in my hand as my core chassis (which is Strong!) doesn’t necessitate their use.
I am not a build optimizer - instead I like to make characters who can pull their weight and have flexibility - then I try to play them to their highest potential (even as this looks like artificially limiting that potential from an optimization perspective). Hanu worships Arundhat, whose Anathema dictates I take the Archtype!
So, yeah. Gunna try it out. Thanks all for your input anyhow!
=)
Ōtani Yoshitsugu. |
I am actually reconsidering his Class.
@GM Frost would it terribly inconvenience the Game if I take a day to think about it prior to committing?
My apologies, but Oracle not really feeling right...

Good points. I would like to try Blessed One. I might reconsider Herbalist after I see how you play it.

I can wait and give everyone time to make the changes on their characters. Just tell me when everyone is ready.
rainzax |
Hanu is ready to go.
No changes to chassis.
Skill Feat: Natural Medicine
Class Feat: Herbalist Dedication
His out-of-combat healing capacity improves with the skill feat choice (squeezing more utility out of his meager skillset) while his in-combat healing capacity improves (allowing him to revive a fallen comrade with an elixir and then create a banana).
Again, not optimized but fun!
Standing by till the team is ready.
Ōtani Yoshitsugu. |
Otani Yoshitsugu Oracle (Battle) 2 is ready and resolved for continued glory!
Took Bon Mot for some verbal shenanigans to go along with Intimidating Glare...lol!
Also took Domain Acumen for Athletic Rush!
Moist Definitely |
I'm happy to give time for people to figure out rebuilds.
Moist changes
Class feat Cantrip Expansion
Skill feats Recognize Spell
New spells
- Cantrips (from expansion): Detect Magic, Figment
- 1st: Mystic Armor (which he will always cast at prep time since it lasts until "tomorrow", so he'll always begin the day with 1/2 spell slots)

Here are the chronicles for the Q16 The Winter Queen's Dollhouse. I added the folder to the Chronicles that is linked above for easy reference. I also reported the game.
Olegaro |
Chronicle looks good - thanks.
Changes for Olegaro:
Class feat: Medic Dedication
Skill feat: Assurance (Medicine)
(between those he can now get 16 on every medicine check, so is reliable on Treat Wounds now)
And with the obligatory +1 weapon potency rune, Olegaro is all ready for the next adventure!
Rybar Gannon |
For Rybar, I'm changing the background. Pilgrim to Charlatan.
For the 2nd level, I'm taking Scroll Trickster and Intimidating Glare.
Zepth. |
Very well, after testing different variations of the same concept, I've just went with what felt right for Zepth.
Still a maestro bard, decided on gutsy halfling for race and took Multifarious Muse (Polymath) and Intimidating Glare as my second level feats.
For gear, a +1 Jezail will be his weapon of choice and his known spells Runic Weapon, Summon Fey, Sure Strike and Soothe.
So, Zepth is ready to rock & roll!

I'd like to inform everyone that I will be unavailable from April 27th to 30th (UTC +8) for an out-of-town summer vacation. I will update the game when I get back by Wednesday earliest.
