Apologies for clogging Game Thread.
Source Player Core pg. 445 2.0
You are taking damage from an ongoing effect, such as from being lit on fire. This appears as “X persistent [type] damage,” where “X” is the amount of damage dealt and “[type]” is the damage type. Like normal damage, it can be doubled or halved based on the results of an attack roll or saving throw. Instead of taking persistent damage immediately, you take it at the end of each of your turns as long as you have the condition, rolling any damage dice anew each time. After you take persistent damage, roll a DC 15 flat check to see if you recover from the persistent damage. If you succeed, the condition ends.
I was playing an Alchemist in SoT (DMing the second half now), and I absolutely enjoy Persistent damage. Always get at least 1 Round of it off, average around 3 so really good.
Unless on receiving end...ha!

Apologies but I will be off line due to family emergency for unknown duration.
Thank you.

GM Frost |

I hope everything will be okay. Take your time.

Dorian 'Grey' |

I am posting this in all my Games.
My situation
We had an family emergency that caused us to need to travel down to Florida to visit my mom. She has been since diagnosed with Major Congestive heart failure. She can't breathe on her own.
We are back in Michigan. My Mom is currently resting at ease at a Hospice, comfortable but still expectant to pass. Our hope is she will become able to have Home hospice so she can do it at home.
I appreciate you. I Thank you.
I feel that I really need to lessen my commitment to these games. I will be stepping away from many but I would like to see this game through.
Dorian

Thank you for letting us know. Take your time when you need it; your family is priority over the games. I'm truly sorry to hear about your mom's condition. Wishing you and your family strength during this difficult time.

Sorry to hear Dorian. That's a lot to deal with. All the best to you and your family.

I am humbled by the support of friends and family. Otani Yoshitsugu is ready to continue his Pathfindering....

We are nearing the end of the scenario. Kindly review your details on the Sign-Up Sheet linked above. Once we finish the scenario, it appears that everyone becomes level 3 before our next game.

Level 3 and Moist still hasn't had need to unleash his psyche. Maybe soon.

I am missing Hanu's details for the chronicle. Here is the link to the Sign-Up Sheet.

Here are your chronicles for S03-01. The game is also reported to HQ. I will start our next game around the middle of next week to give everyone time to decide and finalize what to take for your characters at level 3. Don't forget to reflect them in the Macros so we can proceed smoothly.
Also, I want to inform everyone that I will be unavailable from October 31 to November 4. If everyone agrees, we can start after that date instead.

Chronicle received. Thanks as always for running this!

That's reasonable. Thanks for letting us know!

Thanks for another fun game GM Frost and everyone.

I was also thinking of picking up a hireling to cover either crafting or arcana at +5. Thoughts?
Starting back on 4 Nov sounds good to me.

Sounds good Frost.
I need the weekend to Level Up.
That said, no major changes, just number I think...
EDIT: Leveled up, just missing my general feat, need the weekend to think it over.
Major changes is now the Tree has 20 HPs (!!!) and Hanu is an Expert in Athletics and may start using his tail to Grapple from reach!
(Which makes me think I should take Toughness...)
DOUBLE EDIT: Hanu is done. I picked up this tricksy little treat:

Level 3 feat: Ancestral Paragon (Androit Manipulation)
New Skill: Athletics
Expert Skill: Performance
Spells
-Rank 1: Bane, Runic Weapon, Sure Strike, *Soothe*
-Rank 2: Invisibility, Calm Emotions.
Changed +1 Rune from Jezail to Shortbow
Sold Jezail
Bought: Jolt Coil.

GM Frost |

It is stated in the > Purchasing Guidelines. Given that +1 weapon striking rune is common, you can only purchase it if your character level is equal to the item's level, unless one has Access from a chronicle, I guess. At level 2, you can purchase +1 potency rune for the weapon, and I think level 3 for weapon property rune.

GM Frost, I notice the "GM Screen" link on your status bar, but the doc is private. I'm very curious what goes into a GM screen :) Is that something you can share?

GM Frost |

Not been using it lately. It is just > GM Screen in Google Slides<. Not sure what to add to it to make it more useful.

![]() |

Ah, the standard screen then. Was curious what else you might've had compiled in there.

![]() |

The specific chronicle that has it listed is 1-08 Revolution on the Riverside. The game was run for another character of mine named Seth Darthis . The chronicle indicates the date as 06/17/2023 and was submitted by GM Rocco Mapua. This was a VTT game.
Rocco crossed out the first box with the +1 longsword, hat of disguise and scroll of darkness and left open the box with the +1 striking longsword (lvl 4, 100gp), goggles of night (lvl5:150 gp) and scroll of haste (lvl 5 discounted price 15 gp: limit 1). X to me means no access, and open box means you've access.
My understanding is that if you have an item on any chronicle you own, all other characters of the appropriate level have access to it. I also understand that the rule "level+2" applies to items that are on your chronicles.
Is any of this incorrect?
I wish I had a way of showing you guys the chronicle. Any ideas?

![]() |

As I understand it, it operates primarily on a trust system.
There is a verify system as well: VCs are allowed to conduct audits.
But there is no "one way" you must keep your records - you just have to keep them.

![]() |

PFS was designed first and foremost as an in-person experience where IIRC they suggested players keep binders, with the chronicles and boons for a character.
In the world of PbP, I do this by keeping a google drive folder with ordered chronicles and any applied boons. See here, where I have a boon that allowed Moist to be a grippli (before they remastered it to tripkee and I think made it free).
So similarly you could have a shareable (but read-only) folder with copies of your purchased and bequeathed boons to simply hand out if/when someone asks.
Since Paizo doesn't offer a system of record to more precisely track, this is the best I know to do.

Thanks for the pointers. I will transfer my files to a Google Drive as soon as I figure that out. I've never used it before.

GM Frost |

I’m back and will gradually start posting to the games I’m playing and GMing over the next 24 hours. Hopefully, the workload I left behind won’t be too overwhelming today.
As for proof of character access, I trust my players are adhering to the rules of Organized Play. As others have pointed out, having digital copies is convenient for easy access in case of an audit, while some prefer printed chronicles. Either option is valid as proof.

GM Frost |

Before I continue the combat, it looks like the Macros have not been updated. I would like to know if everyone has updated their characters to level 3, and if so, kindly reflect the changes in the Macros, as I heavily rely on them for secret skill checks, HP, AC, and combat. I will give everyone 24 hours to do so.

![]() |

So this reminds me - I mentioned I was going to pick up a hireling. As a team, our worst skill is currently Arcana at +5 (Nature is the same but at least there are two people trained in it). An expert hireling would be +7.
So would anyone object if I got a hireling to fill that gap? Lore would be something like Academia Lore to match the type of hireling.

![]() |

Apologies if I didn't completely do macros? I did alter his numbers on his page, but I was afraid to mess up actual macros page....
Also apparently apologies to Olegaro! I have zero problems with it.

GM Frost |

A hireling would be helpful. I have a ranger who lacks Diplomacy, and I let the hireling do the talking and impress people on her behalf.

Did it early on after the level up.

Great, I've added the details to the macros sheet. Is it ok if introduce them after this encounter, or shall I start them off in the next game?

Since we have already started, let's bring you hireling on the next game.

Just a quick heads-up: A super typhoon is headed toward our location. Electricity and internet might go out, and there’s a risk of flooding, which could delay my updates and participation in the games I’m running and playing. I’ll check in when I can—thanks for your understanding!
