After reevaluating the traveling rules, your 5-11-17-23-30 path actually takes only two full days in each direction (using a 20-ft movement speed because of your caravan) since it's all over open plains. Sorry for the inconsistency, I'll be more careful about that going forward; we'll consider the land around Oleg's fully explored since you've already taken the time.

And since you're setting off again, let's address traveling vs exploring. It looks like Ventiine (and the others too I guess) marked your path as traveled but not explored. Traveling through a hex takes 8 hours; exploring it takes 2 days. You'll eventually need to spend the extra time exploring every hex to satisfy your charter, although you aren't on a schedule to do so.

So the question becomes: do you want to get back to Oleg's relatively quickly, or take the extra time exploring as you go? There's something noteworthy in almost every hex, but whether or not you see anything depends on how long you spend there. We'll say there's a 50/50 chance of finding something (where applicable) if you're just traveling through.

Oleg's award is a little different, being store credit instead of cash on the nail. So you could divvy it up and say each of you gets 200 gp of stuff to buy, but then you'll have to mark on your inventory that you have X gold pieces and Y store credit at Oleg's. Alternatively, you could discuss among yourselves what to purchase and have more credit go to some than to others.

Or, of course, you could purchase group items like a 1st-level wand (remember that magic items take a week to arrive).

Adela still has the Wand of cure light wounds in her inventory. Fully charged and unused. we've been lucky so far and not needed anything more than her healing magic.

Question: this is the first group I've played in in a long time that awards individual XP so I apologize if this seems like a stupid question: are we responsible for tracking our own XP and/or do we not level necessarily all at the same time? Since Dare and Yuki just joined, do we count ourselves at the beginning of level 2 even if the rest of the party is further along toward leveling?

I like the idea of using the store credit for group items, sort of a party fund, or to draw from if something necessary goes over what someone can actually afford.

You'll all get the same XP and level at the same time. I've been on both sides of having different XP totals among the party, and to me it just isn't much fun.

So you should all have 3,151 XP on the medium advancement track. If one of you should die (muahaha) and roll up a new character, your new character will have the same total.

I just posted about the 'Wanted: Falgrim Sneeg' quest, although you also have the 'Gathering Fangberries' quest (which has been marked on the map) and two other quests which have not been personally given to you but are posted on Oleg's public bulletin board.

I've handwaved his stock and gold supply to say he has any mundane items you need. He can also provide magic items, but they take a week to arrive.

If the award from Oleg is an item worth up to 1,000 gp for each of us, Dare would ask for a wand of magic missile.

If it's combined (i.e., the party cannot total spend more than 1,000 gp), she'd ask instead for two potions of shield of faith.

I agree on looking for the fangberries, but if we find the bandit on the way, awesome.

The 1,000 gp of store credit is for the entire party (you can think of it as representing everything he has on hand right now, but mechanically that's what you receive).

Masterwork breastplate is certainly doable, it would be 350 gp of the 1,000 gp reward (unless Adela is paying cash for it).

I wholeheartedly support our cleric getting as much AC as we can afford. That's an investment that helps the whole party.

Dude, get the breastplate. No one else has asked for anything and like I said, it is selfishly in the rest of our best interests for you to be well equipped protectively. I mean, folks are welcome to disagree with me but IMO giving up the opportunity to improve your gear hurts us more than helps so there's nothing honorable in waiting or asking for an event split.

It doesn't make sense to necessarily split the cost evenly when there's probably also other gear that might benefit the party as a whole (like should we get a chirurgeon's kit maybe? Or a cache of alchemical weapons for any of us to use in a pinch? If someone else also really needs AC I also support them getting that.

It's done. Adela has gotten fitter wandering the Stolen lands the last month so feels she can handle being encased in metal now. :)

Hey, there's a big difference between outdoorsy and outsidey. I have a friend who loves being outside, gardening and going for walks and such. She also has never been camping or backpacking and doesn't have the slightest desire to do either. So maybe Yuki is more like that.
