This will end up being drogeney's submission. I haven't gotten the background/descriptions/equipment/spellbook done but I have the crunch largely finished and a general idea of the rest that needs to be done.

As a note if you do let me in I am going to be out of touch Wednesday next week through that Sunday since I'll be at Gencon.

I've been doing a lot of character development with HeteromorphPC in Private Messages, but it feels prudent I put forth some of my work. I don't want anyone feeling like I'm stepping on their toes.

My character is a middle-aged man who retired almost 10 years ago. He traveled for a couple of years before his degenerating health made that impossible. Seeking some way to improve his situation, he joined Yggdrasil and has spent increasing amounts of time over the past 7 years in the game as his financials are taken care of through his savings, investments, and company Willow investments which he has passed the day to day operations over to others. The character uses Yggdrasil as an escape and placed to live out things he never imagined.

I'm working on a Peri-Blooded Aasimar Vampire with 7 levels in Scaled Fist Unchained Monk and Spirit Guide Oracle of the Bone with the Legalistic curse.

The character will have a large number of subordinates that will help serve the needs of their master and the guild. It will take time to flush them out, but some of what I have planned includes the following:

  • Cohort (from Vile Leadership) - Half-Elf Graveknight with 5 levels in Tyrant Antipaladin and Undead Lord Cleric - Serves as a bodyguard to my character
  • Enslaved Vampire with 5 levels in Mindchemist Alchemist - Serves as an advisor and potion crafter
  • Enslaved Vampire with 5 levels in Undead Lord Cleric - Serves as a lead for undead forces doing more mundane tasks and as a healer for them
  • Enslaved Vampire with 5 levels in Swamp Druid - Serves as a potion crafter, eyes in a nearby swamp, and resource gatherer
  • Enslaved Vampire with 5 levels in Witch - Serves as a guardian of the hidden abode (Depending on the size of our base and/or setup, they should help hide it with a couple of hexes)
  • Enslaved Vampire with 5 levels in Wizard - Serves as a magic item crafter
  • Mindless undead will serve as a source of unending labor for less complex tasks
  • Followers (from Vile Leadership) - Serves as a source of information, potential food for vampires, and more

Please let me know if you have any concerns. I realize this is a rather powerful build. I'm open for further ideas as well.

To help manage the entire task, I'm writing it up in a Google Doc that can be found here in case anyone wants to look it over.

Understandable, it'd be a little weird to have to explain to others why our builds works different from theirs. But since we're talking about outside content, what about 3.5? Or is it allowed or only content for Pathfinder?

Btw, my character's backstory is going really well. Can I post a Google Docs link for it? Or do I just copy-paste the whole thing here when it's ready? It'll be pretty long.

I suppose you could go back to a 3.5 book, what were you thinking of?

A google link will work nicely. Make sure to add the link in your alias as well.

path-of-war is fully supported!

Yes Yggdrasil had a cash shop!

My goal was to start, so looking for players ready to start. Now there are many things I want but building your personality and how you play your character are needed before anything else.

Let's see some of you posting into gameplay ASAP. Oh it seems some were wondering if there was a chance of being picked, you all are picked. Get to it!

Hopefully we can get this going sooner than later as I will have limited time at the beginning of August. 1st to the 9th, beach house with no wifi! So that will give you plenty of time to finish the requirements.

Awesome I have my personality and backstory done and will post it this weakend. So much stuff to type up!!!

FyrTheHunter aka Fyr The Mistress of Webs, The Weaver of Death, Princess of Spiders will be ready. As will Emily Cho the bumbling Forestry Management degree holding data entey clerk.

Ready to treat her many spiders, scorpions, centipedes, bees and wasps like her favorite pet aka Baby, to work on deadly traps and weave adorable clothing for her pets, herself and her friends. Bubbly and fun to her friends, playful but also when focused a deadly and unrelenring mind of a cunning patient killer!

Here is Fyrs' avatar, Ill get the meaty bits when I get home as I hate typing on a phone

Sounds good. I will aim to have a gameplay post up tonight to introduce my character and explain why his late to the gathering of the others.

I do have some questions to pose to you later as well in regards to how some things will work mechanically. For now, I'll focus mainly on getting my character wrapped up before moving on to his subordinates.

Hey GM, I want to ask: The Ghost template allows me to possess a creature and if they are unwilling they can make a saving throw to resist. It doesn't say anything about minions but can I freely possess the undead I control since they'd be willing?

I think it'd very fun, possessing the body of a minion and fight an enemy who believes it's fighting my real body but when they kill the minion... SURPRISE! I pop out, it was just a vessel all along

And I really liked the fact that the Ghost can't use weapons or armor as they are intended to be used unless they are part of his grave trappings or unless they have the Ghost touch encantament. It would be just like in Overlord, Ainz can pick up martial weapons and armor just fine as regular objects but the moment he tries to use them as weapons/armor they just fall through his fingers like in the game. It'd be just like that for my character when he tries to use weapons or armour that don't have Ghost Touch, he can move and wield them, but the moment he tries to "put them to proper use" they just phase through him

You can possess any willing subject.

Yup sounds great Heteromorph.

Hopefully I can get this in as I am having computer/internet issues now

If sublime makes me immune to magical diseases as well as normal ones, the Divine Health won't be necessary, so crafting feat in that case.

Background:
FyrTheHunter, or as many call her Fyr to her guild mates is known as her Traps and her Swarms of Vermin. Out in the world of Yggdrasil Fyr claimed various monikers against the other players and guilds. Weaver of Death, Mistress of Webs, and Princess of Spiders. All have given the PVP princess a fun lore. The woman behind the Drider Warrior of the Wilderness was far from the stealthy hunter Fyr was known for. Emily Hirano was Fyrs’ creator.

Emily grew up very different and someone that would definitely not a gamer. Emily grew up in the States with her mother Sakura living with her father Bernard. Strangely the pair raised her at Fort Bliss Texas. She stayed until her mother died at age ten and her father stationed elsewhere had to send his daughter back to Japan. There she grew up with her grandparents Hiro and Yurozu.

Emily’s Grandparents were farmers for a corporation but also had a few personal plots. Not only did Emliy enjoy the farm life, but she also loved the forest near their home. This is where she found the love of the wild and strangely an allure of insects. She also found arachnids. Emily found the bugs and the forest her favorite place. She even strove to stay there. It wasn’t until high school that she began to really find technology as an escape. Mostly on her long treks from Tokyo to her grandparents farm.

It was on the treks she fell in love with the Beta version of Yggdrasil. She chose at first an elf and went support as many of the groups wanted one. She played for a year before the incident. The incident was the introduction of Yggdrasil main and the inclusion of Player versus Player. That was what made her fall. Emily took a year off for two reasons, one she was devastated at the loss of her first character and the fact none of her former teammates would help her resurrect her character. The other was that she needed to go to cram school.

It was at cram school that Fyr was born. She found the Yggdrasil forums and began to research. Emily crafted the character and when she graduated from her cram school and she began to craft her new character a Drider Forester. Emily focused on simple quests and low-level Player versus Player for the rest of high school. Fyr died a few times but eventually managed to get Fyr up in levels.

Emily worked all through college for Forestry getting Fyr up in levels. It was during this time she met the others of the guild and found kindred spirits. It was with them she gained even more notoriety. Hunting down rare quests, components, and more. Other Players who challenged her found themselves in a maze of webs and death. Add in her army of Scorpions, Spiders, and other Vermin to deliver death, and she became even more dangerous.

Life in Yggdrasil and in College was great for Emily and Fyr. The duo enjoyed a good six strong years until Emily had to graduate. Then the young woman had to find work and thrive. Gameplay became scarce as the Guilds Trapmistress and Hunter found herself with less time to tend to the guild and more importantly her babies. All the vermin pets she made.

Emily still came and went in the guild doing rare hunts when she could, but rarely had time with the corporation she had. Eventually, she saw the news and showed up on the last day of the game. She logged on and spent time with her precious babies. All the insects and arachnids she had built and tamed and bred. All the cute clothes she made and hopefully hang out with the others.

Strangely when the countdown went on she made her way to the hall and waited in her favorite crawlspace. She fell asleep and remained until several others entered stirring her from her slumber. Strangely she found herself sleeping past when the servers were to go dark!

Grand Lodge

Emily's Personality:
Emily is a nature girl trapped in a corporate job. All her Forestry jobs did not pan out and she became one of thousands of corporate drones in a cubicle. Emily was quiet and shy, keeping to herself. She would camp when she could immersing herself in the wilds whenever she could. She had a pet Scorpion named Momo. An Avid Reader and amateur hunter Emily tended to stay quiet and only enjoy her girly nature in good nature. Strangely Emily and Fyr share a deep focus and a sense of patience. Which transfers

Fyr's Personality:

Fyr is on first impression a fierce and focused hunter. Deadly and patient who is not afraid to toy with her prey. On the flip side when in comfort she is very much a girlie girl. She loves to play and pamper her many pets which she dotingly calls her babies. She weaves a variety of things with her webs, many of which are silk clothing for herself and her guildmates She even makes outfits and accessories for her babies. Lastly, she is a tinkerer of traps often looking to improve and install new interesting and terrifying traps to help catch food for her pets and keep the guild safe.

For each 3 paragraphs of background you gain additional perks: 1 - extra trait, 2 - extra feat, 3 - extra +2 to an ability score, 4 - gain a mount CR 3 or below, 5 - gain a crafting feat, 6 - gain a wish, 7 - gain a magical ring no more than 8,000 gp (You must write the description, abilities, and background of the ring in your crunch as well), 8 - gain a familiar or animal companion, 9 - gain a super power, 10 - gain another 'Special' from another class, it cannot be a Special above 5th level.
I am fine if you want to conspire with other players to decide what you want to play... ;)

You don't get to pick from the list from your 15 paragraph background you gain the first 5 perks:

1 - extra trait,
2 - extra feat,
3 - extra +2 to an ability score,
4 - gain a mount CR 3 or below,
5 - gain a crafting feat

But lucky for you and everyone else you have 2 more weeks to work on it.

I am looking for special events that had happened in Yggdrasil, different accomplishments you achieved, and other elements that can enrich the game. After all it is more fun to create a world with you all!

Remember ask any questions you might have, I am here to help.

Also all my NPCs are still available!

Thanks, I'll continue to work on things that happened in game before the change then.

I can update my background My character is mostly Player v Player and huntin. With a bit of Vermin breeding and Trap making

Grand Lodge

I think her three monikers are rare Weaver od Death is from a Player v Player ternimwnt done in a fortnite style where she built traps and clever ambushes to win the moniker

Mistress of Webs and Princess of Spiders will be unique campaigns she accomplished in the darker underground reaches

Where might one find information on this?

I will post with them again... the next few aliases are the possible NPCs should you have leadership or something else that gives you NPCs. Of course you can create your own and play them yourself or hand them off to me and I will do what I can.

I love how gameplay is finally populating, if you haven't already get a post in, you will have to explain what you have been doing since the party is already over and the integration is happening.

If you have asked me something and I did not address it please ask it again, I must have missed it!

I posted them in discussion...

Any new applicants need to speak up with at least character design before the 1st. Then all components need to be finished before the 11th of August.

I would like everyone to post at least once per day in gameplay!!!!! Trust me if we don't start this now the game will die.

Giant.... fighter?

Silver Crusade

Werewolf wizard!

Or basically subzero! From Mortal Kombat!!!

A Blue black large magical tiger?

Or an awakened cat with classes of your choice?

Shadow Lodge

An elven wizard/ ranger?

Well my personal computer is sol until I can put it in to get fixed

I did have some questions. here.

I will re-post them here:
A question regarding the "special from another class": Is this for "single-instance" specials, like Divine Grace, or Debilitating Injury? Or could one pick up e.g. Revelations from the Oracle and get 3 instances of the chosen Mystery at Level 7(from Level 1, 3, 7) - or only the instances Level 5 and below? If so, would certain things continue scaling PAST Level 5(thinking of Warpriest Sacred Weapon here, or Weapon Training/Favored Enemy)?
(And for those features that scale depending on your level in a class - does your character level count as that class for purposes of scaling?)

Also, I second that some examples of what you consider viable "superpowers" would be inspiring.
Could a character be affected by a continous Mind Blank?
What about automatically turning invisible on scoring a killing blow?
Being able to "extract" a special quality from a fallen foe and use it for a time?
Or doing a "mimic", exactly duplicating another characters actions once per day regardless of capability(so if the other character smites and charges, the player character would also smite and charge the creature(despite not naturally having access to smite))?
Having a hard time to quantify what kind of stuff you had in mind there-

Finally: Will mounts, animal companions, or familiars be buffed in SOME manner? With Gestalt games including templates, they are likely to fall far behind in the curve - a free advanced template or something could help mitigate things a bit - figured asking won't hurt.

I do understand you are very much looking for concepts primarily, but in my eyes, those questions are very relevant for that as it may totally change the flavor of the character depending on some of those options.
(That, plus I wanted to watch the first few episodes before getting to work on the background)

X-men super powers: limited invincibility, regeneration, mind blade, blink, weather control focusing on lighting, beast form, etc.

Yes any of those abilities would be awesome.

Sure go ahead and add advanced template to your mount, animal companion or familiar. You can also be classified as having 10 levels to determine boosts to the creatures. You can add a CR 2 or less template on them as well.

Yup I understand.

What Stat method do we use for determining the stats of our followers/cohorts from leadership if we're making some up?

And are they using any of they same rules. I see one or more of your npcs are gestalt. Any of that or templates apply?

You can either do the advanced stat array or roll 4d6-lowest roll.
Advanced template: Rebuild Rules: AC increase natural armor by +2; Ability Scores +4 to all ability scores (except Int scores of 2 or less).
Advanced stat array: 16, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8

So after advanced template: 20, 18, 17, 14, 12

You can add another template but that takes equal amount away from levels. 5th level cohort with a CR 2 template = 3rd level cohort.

4d12 ⇒ (7, 2, 9, 11) = 29

Ok, I've created Saffron and Peoni, twin ghoran sworn protector warders to act as bodyguards. Saffron is her 5th level cohort and Peoni is the one 5th level follower she gets.

I'd like to take Troas Soul Freezer of the Whispering Frozen Way as one of my second level followers, seems interesting. I have 4 2nd level followers, maybe I could have one for fire, electricity, and acid that otherwise share a similar stat block?

Don't see any stats for Midnight, but if I can take him as my 4th level follower I will.

That would leave two third level followers to be determined plus 40 1st level foot soldiers/wizards/cleric/spies/etc.

Yup Troas as a 2nd level follower (or cohort?) Yes I am good with you having four of him, each signifying the four elements! I like it!

Midnight as his large form works as your 4th level follower.

I'm a little confused when it comes to cohort and follower creation. I saw the following in the Discussion thread before:

GM Wolf wrote:

The NPCs are going roughly by the stats of your creation.

5d6 - lowest roll (7 times)
Background skills
No Tax Feats
Etc.

They can even gain the PC bonuses of a long background story.

I can make them but need guidance and a personality would be great addition before I start. Also a brief 3 paragraph Background story.

I created Inennarra as a doppelganger 5/ Rogue 5. Using marginally the leadership rules. Basically all the normal build but 5th instead of 7th. 2 main NPCs max for your cohorts. Four 3rd level cohorts, Eight 1st levelevel cohorts, then your followers, which is basically the wait staff on the guild hall.

Anyone want a half dragon monk powerhouse as an NPc?

I've now noted the following here:

GM Wolf wrote:

The prior made me believe that the cohort could be built with a CR 2 Template and Gestalt level 5. Is that not the case?

Are we moving away from using the 5d6 - drop lowest (7 times)?

I want to make sure I'm making my cohort and followers correctly when I get to them.

Oh, did not, in fact got picked for one just yesterday.

I will have to gauge how much capacity I have, but even so, I WANT to create something for here. Even if maybe it won't work out, it seems fun to try and put a concept together.

Plus I'm pretty sure your answers also help others that may have wondered during their design process - so thanks for the reply!

I really wish I could have finished Fyr, but trying to type a character out on the phone is hard. If I can join later that would be awesome for now Im gonna work on her offline in hopes I can get my computer fixed and back in a timely manner

No worries Critzible, when you get it done you can join. I totally understand having troubles with making a character on the phone.

Feel free to post in gameplay and you will get time to finish the character build once you get a computer with a keyboard! :)
