Once the children are ready to depart, Venture-Captain Jirneua and her staff give you all a enthusiastic farewell. Luckily for you all the Maze's hedge pathways seem stable enough for now and your return trip is relatively brief and uneventful. Back at the Grand Lodge you see J waiting near the entrance. When you arrive he waves at you and approaches. ”Well, good to see you all back! A bit earlier than I expected. Does that mean the students were that quick at finishing ll their assignments?”

"I suppose I more than anyone should have expected a day with Pathfinders rarely turns out to be simple. But I'm glad to hear the students did well. We'll be sure to have a party day at the Academy soon. And you are all invited as guests of honor of course!"

Entirely logical Venture Captain ma'am Betel replies, hoping she hasn't made a faux pas somewhere. To be honest, I ... would be interested in investigating this ... erm ... phenomena.
She looks a little worried when J mentions a 'party day'. Parties are not her thing.
Once, released, the first thing she does is find a quiet corner in the library to write up her report for the Venture Captains. After that, she pulls out The Meeting of Queens from her bag and starts reading. It is quiet and she has a book. She is now in her 'happy place'. The only thing that would make it more happy is being fully immersed in water - but that would be bad for the book.
