I did read up on her character during the recruitment, and I think there would be quite a lot of potential for interesting interactions between our two characters, depending on how she's introduced and how she is wants to play it off.

Yeah - you probably should. Sorry I've not been around much, my availability for Paizo has been fluctuating much more than it used to and I'm holding the game up which isn't fair to any of you. None of my other games are moving very fast but this one is and I don't want to spoil it.

Dex Mutagen gives +4 Dex and Cat's Grace gives +4 Dex, so +4 to Init = +7. In the past I have also used Heightened Awareness which I will always play to dismiss for the +4 to Init. That's not the case this time.

For the next time we're in this situation...

Triphylla has the racial trait Irrepressible, which makes her Will saves vs Charm and Compulsion into Charisma-based checks and gives a total of +6, making the current result a 19. Add +1 from Adaptable Luck to make 20. In general, if given the opportunity to roll this for myself, I would always add Adaptable Luck on the front end of the roll for the +2 knowing it's too important to fail it.

She also has the Creative Manipulator trait, which allows her to reroll a Charisma check 1/day. In this case I would choose to keep the 20 from the first roll. I more or less focused my last level up on addressing exactly this possibility knowing it was Triphylla's biggest weakness.

My guess is that a 20 is probably still not good enough to pass the save, and even if it is, let's play on and see what happens. Triphylla has exhausted her mutagen so she's a lot less threatening atm. You guys got this!

@DM, Triphylla has a small supply of Essence of Independence serum. Under what circumstances could she willingly use that to attempt a new save against the charm monster spell? Could Valeria's Diplomacy roll have cut through the brain fog?

Your call, obviously, but there's a metamagic feat dedicated to casting when silenced. RAW seems like a miss given the Silence spell has almost identical affect but does specifically cite spells. I would argue they should function the same, otherwise what's the point of Verbal components? It is to be heard. And if not, Triphylla would know that.

How high is the ceiling here? If low enough for me to reach from it the flying woman, I am considering to just climb up the wall and then devote the whole turn to approach the woman using spider climb through the ceiling.

@Trip my assumption is that item would be kind of strong early game if it did silence casters. Still I'll take a look later to see if there's been any discussion of it on the forums.

@Lope The ceilings of interior rooms on the ground level are 20 feet high, except for the central room which has 60' ceilings - it's big.

Yes it does!

Second Triumph: The ring’s competence bonus on Diplomacy, Linguistics, and Perform check is +3. When the wearer activates the ring’s disguise, she can read, speak, and understand the most common language in the area that she doesn’t already know for as long as the duration persists.

Having trouble with my vision this weekend so I won't be able to post much. I am hoping it will be better this week but it is making it impossible for me to look at Paio's website well enough to read anything, it's just too bright and they don't have a darkmode that I can find.
