It is interesting how Lope has not yet had the opportunity to really see Triphylla transformed. I am trying to figure out how he should react to that sight :)
To what degree is she transformed while using her mutagen?
I imagine her becoming thicker, but as a halfling she wears it well. Fangs and claws would be obvious. Perhaps she faintly resembles someone whose great-great-grandfather was a half orc. Also, to date, whenever she has transformed she is quickly covered in blood and guts. It lasts 30 minutes now so you'll see it when you step into the light.

Lope by my count you should have 12 hp left, unless I made a mistake (entirely possible).
Mmm... I think the difference might be you counted Lope started this mission full but I counted he started 8 hp down.
I thought we had no chance or resources to heal after we dealt with the Senate dungeon, but if there was some healing I missed out, that is great news!!!
Will wait to be sure about this before going on with a post.
Do I have the slot I gained for leveling or not that I can use? I was out when we leveled and then got that one. I believe RAW I can't use it until I have rested but I leave the final word in your court.

I checked back the posts and it seems we indeed did not heal after the Senate, but also found I misunderstood the Will save against the negative energy damage, I thought it was to avoid some extra effect, but it was to half the damage. So Lope has 2 more hp than I thought!
Also, we bought a wand of CLW to Mimips (10 charges) and we have a scroll of CLW.
We have other scrolls too, including a dispel magic too (from the Guardian scroll) that might be useful to counter quickly those nasty images.

As a house rule, yes you gained the slot.
I am Valeria, and I approve of this House Rule.
I never realized we had a wand/scroll available! Am I presumed to have the wand then or does someone else have it?
I will get an actual post up this evening when I can look at teh map.
And after I intended to post after work I completely forgot. Ended up with a complete mess I ahd to try and fix because of someone being sick in another state and not being able to go install a piece of equipment that had to be done the night before release. No one else anywhere "nearby" (talking close to an hour drive in good conditions minimum, let alone with the blizzard starting to roll through) could do it that evening so it had to wait til the morning when hopefully someone who could not answer his phone in the evening could handle it early.
Maybe we'll have lucked out and the blizzard will have prevented the release and thus mooted the whole problem. Working on this now.
For the benefit of expediency, may I know the save DC? I'll go ahead and make the roll myself each round and then act if successful. Too bad my Will save is terrible - could be stuck for the duration.
Hi Lope I know the EITR doc mentions Risky Strike, do you know what it is? I couldn't find the rules just now, I assume it's not the halfling feat with a similar name :)

Hei Fang Dragon, crossbows usually threaten a crit at 19 :D
About Risky Strike, yes, it is an EitR combat option that basically mimics the Power Attack feat, but free access and without its requirements (well, you need BAB +1 but Lope has that already!).
Julia I'm not sure you can use Saving Finale that way. I believe it's meant to be used as an immediate action when somebody initially fails a save.
Not sure how Saving Finale is supposed to interact with Hold Person as an immediate action but I suppose we could handwave it as Julia using it right after Tri got hit with Hold Person. Doesn't really matter either way since she failed the save.

Just a dumb question: do flanking and concealment rules conflict at all? What about flanking and hold person? If Cyrene moved to flank both cultists, would she benefit from flanking with Triphylla even with Triphylla paralyzed? Not that she would - just wondering.
The key thing is you can only flank if the opposing character is threatening the creature you are attacking in melee.
Threatened squares are defined as: You threaten all squares into which you can make a melee attack, even when it is not your turn. Generally, that means everything in all squares adjacent to your space (including diagonally).
Hold person: As you cannot make melee attacks while paralyzed, the rules seem to support the idea you do not threat any square, and hence cannot provide flanking.
Concealment: You can still attack creatures that are under concealment, hence you are threatening them. The Total concealment entry though has a clause: You can't execute an attack of opportunity against an opponent with total concealment, even if you know what square or squares the opponent occupies. Which indirectly indicates you cannot threaten a creature benefiting from total concealment. Hence, you can offer a flank if the creature has only concealment against you, but not if it has total concealment.
As a rule of thumb I would suggest: Only if you can qualify for an Attack of Opportunity, you are offering a flank (even if you have spent all your attacks of opportunity this round).
So everyone is aware I have been having PC troubles since Wednesday last week and am still in the process of getting it all worked out so my posting will likely be more sporadic than usual lately until it is resolved..
Do we want to reopen recruitment to replace our lost player? We seem a capable enough party on the whole. We could use an offensive spellcaster and more range.

Wow! Congrats everyone, 6 month for a book is a good time, even for a 1st one!! Special thanks to DM Fang Dragon who pushed us through in a timely manner and with very vivid daily descriptions. That was sure a hard work and it deserves all of the recognition :D
Got another call with tech support tonight. I'm starting to hope they will just replace it but maybe they have some thing else they can do still. It is doing better than it was...somewhat at least.
Sso, looks like the hard drive is bad so they are sending me a new one. Swapped back to my old PC again in the meantime so I am working on getting caught up.
