Easy there... Grappling is not lifting. Reknar is easy-going but he likes to keep his composure ;)

What looked like was going to be a mutiny ended up being an unexpected spat. The two holding Reknar decided to let go of him to see just how things would go. The pirates gathered round to see who would win. Plugg's orders to stand down fell on deaf ears. Lucky for the two of them it was a short affair as Chisomo made short work of the bard.

Arkhan's fog distraction was enough to get Lucille the time to apply her healing. The cleric's eyes opened as she witnessed the eyes of a newcomer. "Glad to see another pretty face watch over me."
But she quickly motioned Lucille to get back into the group. That should put her at 3 points of non-lethal damage.

Both Plugg and Scourge sported ugly faces at the spectacle, but likely for different reasons. Once the fight seemed to be won, Scourge himself tossed Chisomo out of Reknar's grip.

"ENOUGH!" Plugg shouted in full for the first time before pointing at the two fighters as well as Arkhan. "You will ALL be working in the bilge tomorrow. And if any of you fail, you will ALL take 6 lashes. Now Scourge, get back in finish the punishment, now!"

Scourge growled but was happy to continue the punishment... only to be shocked that Sandara gained a second wind.

"But... how?"

"Maybe you've lost your magic touch. Not that you've even been good at hitting on anything."

"Why you..."

Damage: 4d3 + 8 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 1) + 8 = 14

The bad news continued as his anger caused him to hit sloppily. While Sandara winced in pain with each of the subsequent hits, it wasn't enough to bow out in pain. In the end, Sandara was able to walk on her own power. Scourge threw down his whip in anger before picking it back up, moving to take Plugg away to the officer's quarters.

It was a brutal Bloody Hour, but no one died that day.

Time for Night Actions, finally. Oh and you have three people currently unconscious.

Sandara rushed towards the unconscious forms before standing up. "They're stable. Unconscious but not dying, which is a relief." She then turned her head towards Chisomo and Reknar. "That was quite the performance you two did there... at least I hope it was?" She winced. "Sorry, I wasn't sure whether it was real or not."

You good? Let me walk you to your hammock, ill figure ill span mine next to it? Needing the guidance to make sure nothing stupid happens.

Lucille also moves her trusty chest, which she, while shipwrecked, christened as Totally not a Mimic, downwards.

If possible she would propose to Sandara as well as the party:
Listen, I can conjure 2 gallons of water, and turn 6 more gallons of saltwater into sweet water. I can definitly get them into a Barell or somehing, but I probably wont be able to distribute it. Its about an extra litre of water per day, should make things more bearable. If you have any ideas for distributing it, I am all ears.

Chisomo glances uneasily up at Reknar, but doesn't answer Sandara's question, using Lucille as an excuse to speak of other matters.

"Running extra water around the ship can only make things easier, and make the crew sweeter. I expect they'll be guarding the bilge tomorrow, but I'll bring a ladle of water to those that need it once we have freedom of the ship again."

No channeling by Sandara for healing? Interesting, why? She's not been shy before.

Djir's eyes flick to Sandara and he sidles up to her and quietly asks "You want me to get Arkhan down here before you share the blessings of Besmara around?"

Hmmmm, I take offense at that. Reknar is a pretty decent combatant. Why 'short work'? :/

Even if he recites the words with feeling and strength, his time around it feels like Reknar is in a darker mood.

I was angry with my friend.
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe.
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I watered it in fears
Night and morning with my tears,
And I sunned it with smiles
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright,
And my foe beheld it shine,
And he knew that it was mine,

And into my garden stole
When the night had veiled the pole;
In the morning, glad, I see
My foe outstretched beneath the tree.

Then he downed his remaining rum, and headed to sleep.

"There's barrel's all over the ship. The main issue if finding a place to keep 'em without anyone finding out. We might not get the chance right now, but I bet things will cool down a bit eventually,"

Seeing Chisomo and then Reknar leave left her a bit uneasy even with the reassurance from both. It was almost enough to forget about Djir's question. "No need. I can take care of that." Taking out her symbol, she began to channel positive energy among the group.

Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11

Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7

After a second burst of energy, everyone was back to full strength. She then placed a hand on Lucille. "Glad to know we got another good set of hands on the ship. As you can see, we could use more allies. Why don't you make some more?" Her usual cheery self returned to her before she went back to her stable to rest.

Lucille

Samms looked up at the taller woman. "I honestly thought Besmara was claiming my soul today. Thanks for the save... and I think I could use the help there as well." She let Lucille lead her towards the hammocks while directing her where they were to begin with.

Samms is now Helpful.

Reknar

While it wasn't his best, it was still enough to elicit claps from the crowd.

Turns out there was a mechanical benefit for it. Getting a high enough roll gives you a +2 on Charisma-based checks for the next 24 hours. Let's just say that you've been hitting that mark a lot and only just missed it this time around.

@Djir. I'll need your action before we can move on to the next day.

I made a good choice saving her, the clerics power exceeds mine, considerably Lucille thinks as she measures the strength of the healing channel.

I am an Oracle, not a cleric, everything I do comes more from my force of personality then my wisdom, which is great because I am not known for the excellency of my life choices. I can heal, I have a number of ways to fight pretty well, but I cant channel. She answers.

Cook already likes me, because hej, good Kellid mead.
My read on him is that his cooking was once good enough to be art, then s+*@ happened. That would incidentally make him a person of concern, as art is to, within reason, be protected and nourished.
She opines.

If I could channel it probably wouldnt be a very pleseant channel either, or it would be pleseant but it would kill you. Yeap, definitly the latter. She thinks on the question of channelling.

Reason I picked oracle is to have CLW, CMW etc. available as long as I have spell slots

I know, but I wanted to know what was up with Sandara (if anything), in case there was something else needed doing (like say pickpocketing someone to retrieve a holy symbol).

Djir has been working hard, hauling sails with his mighty thews in the hot sun (and is thus fatigued). Rather than take the spiked rum ration, he finds an un-noticed corner and passes it off to Tilly (who likes the damn stuff)...

Stealth Check to find a private spot: 1d20 + 1 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 1 - 1 = 19

He finds a minute or two to chat with Giffer: "Hey, thanks for helping me out the other day. A little bird mentioned you like to read, so I figured I'd find you something as a thank you..." He hands over the book he purchased.

I don't know if that needs an influence check or not:

So if it's needed, here it is:
Bluff: 1d20 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 22
1 rank +3trained +1 Cha +1 guidance

Then Djir is off to his hammock.

@Djir

"That's just what staying on a ship like the Wormwood could do to ya," Sandara replied sadly. "Most people would rather lay down and take it than push back and doin' the later's tough when you don't have friends to back you up."

As for the oracle comment, she merely smiled. "You could say that for most of the crew. Even I failed to keep the thing between me, Chisomo and Reknar under wraps," she shrugged. "Oh, so Scourge made a pass at me, but I slapped him back. Finding about this is only gonna piss him off even more. But we've got some folks backing us up now."

If you want to continue the conversation, just separate the texts to make it easy to read.

@Djir

Giffer slowly takes the book from the ratfolk's hands and blushed slightly. "It's not something most people like, I mean most people think romance novels are trash and all but I can still fantasize how other people's lives can go about like that and..." She placed a hand over her mouth to keep herself quiet as well as come up with a more straightforward answer. "Thank you. No one's done something like that to me before." She then scurried back to the hammocks to sleep.

Giffer is now Helpful.

Day 7

The sun is not as intense as it was earlier and the winds have lessened somewhat. While there is no sign of land, the water has become shallow enough that it is possible to even see the bottom.

Arkhan, Chisomo and Reknar however won't have much time to witness this as they were all assigned to the bilge with someone taking watch at the door above. The rest were handed their usual duties.

Apparently the lure of possible spice-roasted beetles consumes Djir's attention. He's not paying much attention to exploring the lower deck, but he collects a giant load of beetles and cockroaches in his bucket, and he ducks in to see Lucille. He hands the bucket of dead bugs over, saying "Hey, the last cook did good spice-roasted beetles. MMmm, mmm, mmm, almost like mama used to make. I got a good haul here, so I figure we'll try yours."

The cleric once again checks in on Scourge's second victim, and this time her voice sounds grim. "Arkhan needs to get healed. He's dying."

"Not until Reknar receives his punishment," Plugg scoffed.

"He might not last that long!"

"That's on him for such a pitiful performance in the bilge."

It was at that point that Reknar had that look in his eyes. One that looked like he was ready to do something risky. As Scourge's lackeys moved on him, he gave a wink to Sandara before he moved past them and landed a solid right hook at Scourge's face. The boatswain lifted his whip in retaliation, but the half-orc's arms met up. Sandara uses the distraction to stabilize the two unconscious sailors.

A brief struggle endured, and after some effort Scourge yanked back control of his whip, sending Reknar off balance. He stumbles to the edge and tips over the side into the water below.

"REKNAR!" Sandara runs over to the side along with Samms and a number of other pirates. Yet there was no sign of him anywhere."[/B] Plugg is the last to make his way to the side, making a brief gaze at the bottom before making his own conclusion.

"The man made his choice. He defied orders and paid for it with his life." He turned to face the others. "And let that be a lesson to anyone else who thinks they can flaunt my authority."

Many who have called him friend as well as enjoyed his songs looked on sadly as the Wormwood claimed another life. Sandara is the only one who remains on deck. "...Reknar," she sniffed as she wiped her face of any developing tears on her face.

I talked with Reknar's player on how he wanted his player to go out and he wanted to go out a hero. The dice played out that way so that he could at least say his actions saved the life of another. You can put out your reactions to what happened if you want or you can go straight to night actions. Chisomo and Arkhan should be up just to witness what happened.

The long route back Convoy 92
Eagle, Leaves, and Angel leading
Bankers to the west
And upon the North Arcadic
Lies the silence of the seas
On a quietest night in the darkest hour
The Besmarine appear
[Pre-Chorus]
Above the surface it seems quiet and calm
Deep down below the wolfpack lurks

No, no, no!
To their own shore came the Raid War
Leaves and Angel
Leading the Eagle west
In their own track came the wolfpack
Leaves led the convoy
Into the hornet's nest

At the crack of dawn the second day
Eagle stands in flames
Half the convoy sunk or disabled
Heading back to shore
But below the North Arcadic
On the bottom of the sea
On the second night in the darkest hour
The Besmarine returns

The wolfpack surface for a second time
To make the convoy face its fate

He's clearly in a black mood when Lucille offers up her beetles; he looks at them at first and says "You never seen, never mind eaten spice-roasted beetles in your life, have you?" but the aroma from the dish does catch his nose. He continues "Well, let's try it." A few bites later, he says "This is actually good. It's not spiced roasted beetles, but it's good." (Yeah, a 21 gets you somewhere)

After finishing the plate, he's in a better mood and explains "Spiced roasted beetles, ya makes em by dipping the beetles in oil, and then rolling them in a spice mix, with some flour in it to make a paste. That seals up the openings in the shell. Then you pop em on a roasting sheet and pop's em in the oven. They come out all crispy and spicy on the outside and sweet and juicy in the middle. The tricks are getting the spice mix right and the cooking time. If you cook them too long, the inside boils too much and they pop! But they're good eating, and if done right, they last - the outside is sealed with oil and hot spices, and the inside has boiled..."

He changes the topic, speaking quietly so as not to be overheard, "I saw you playing your game with Krosp; don't think that'll buy you much with the drunk. But Conchobar the gnome rigger, I've been told he tried a line on every woman on board on his first day. You could probably lead him around by his little head..."

Probably because the worst-blowjob-in-the-Abyss and the Boney-the-bonerless are acting uppity, but such announcements are pretty rare.

Nasty names:

worst-blowjob-in-the-Abyss:
Pretty direct reference to Kabriri, Demon Lord of Ghouls and Cannibalism.

Boney-the-bonerless
Mean Orcus, Demonlord of Undead. A Pharasmin would likely consider Undead based Demonlords his foes, and know their titles meaning he would get people that make fun of them.

Djir

Ratline looks both ways as if he make sure there are no other listening ears before he speaks. "Most of 'em are new to the ship. From what I heard, he went through a big bout he survived but it came at the cost of his crew. Didn't take long before he built that back but it must have taken a toll on him. Most officers would rather chuck you overboard than talk to ya."

His eyes went towards Krine. "She's the master gunner and she's got a mouth that make's Rosie's look squeaking clean."

"F#%~ you very much too Ratline."

Ratline shrugged before turning his attention towards Peppery. "She's the head mage. Well, the only one. She's got a temper in her too. From what I heard, she's the only one who's met the cap'n before he became cap'n."

He last turned his attention towards the Stitchman, who's been sitting to himself away from the other officers. "Stitchman's the only decent one outta the bunch and that's on the fact that he's the medic. He's also the carpenter as well."

Ratline is now Helpful.

Lucille

Lucille noticed that Cogward made a small prayer after her performance, which was well received by the crew. Sandara clapped in praise while Samms sniffed as she fought back tears from her face.

When she met Cogwards, he looked back at her with curiosity. "I suppose that you are a demon worshiper as well?" He asked. "Two cooks with the same profession cannot be a coincidence. It only seems like fate that you and the goblin had gifted us with the best meals in a while."

Cogward is now Helpful.

Cogward:

It is a bit complicated Lucille chuckles.
I pray to Lady Nocticula, who is both Demon Lord and Deity, to Lord Gorrumm, who is a deity, although rumors exists that he originally came from the Abyss, conquered parts of Elysium and then went native, and Lady Shamira, who once was a Muse, but who has well, risen to Demon Lord hood by falling. What they all have in common is change, change and being fairly personable actually.

I would probably maintain my powers if I would worship someone else yet, it would be pretty rude of me to do so. I also figure that my shadow She points at her shadow, which has wings, horns and a tail, and which clearly moves on its own. Would be a lot more annoying if I like, tried to follow Iomedae and be a nun or something. He Shadow starts rolling on the floor, laughing, as she says this.

For the rest of the day, Lucille runs around delivering extra freshwater in the heat, this gives her a pretty good reason to be around, familiarize herself with the ships layout and ingratiate herself with crew members. She would, with no outward reluctance, include the officers in her delivery.

Nope. Thankfully, the water's calm, so it's only a DC 10 Swim check. I believe most of you can take 10 to get there with no problem. Once you get there, you can make a Survival or Perception check to spot a crab followed by a DC 10 Swim check to catch one.
