Lucille will try to convert Syl to Nocticula, once she get her to indifferent at least, because why not.

Questions. I take it were 40' away from the ship (hence the negative range modifier), so would those of us who move at 30' would have to make six DC:15 Climb (or three at DC:20) checks or would one roll suffice for the whole climb?
Can we indeed "Take 10" if we are being pelted with garbage (i.e. distracted) along the way?
Does failure by five or more drop us into the drink where we have to swim back to the launch and try again?

DM Meleager |

Hmm... the obscuring mists might have made it possible... but that's technically right not to allow taking 10 while in combat.
I'll allow it since it's practice, but in a real scenario you won't get to take 10 even with the mist. The others will have to take their checks.
Since movements round up, it will take 4 rounds to get you up (even for Torin). Failing by 5 or more will cause you to drop to the water.
Also, please do all the required Climb checks to show how many rounds the NPCs have to throw stuff at you.

Djir Bentwhisker |

With a base speed of 20 (Thus a 1/4 speed of 5, not 7.5 rounded up to 10), and a climb of -2 (-1 str -2 meticulous (skill is untrained with no ranks) and +1 from guidance from Cevanne), Djir needs to make eight 17 or better rolls in a row... So I'm not bothering for now (.000256 % chance)
(see previous comment about misallocating my skill ranks...)
Djir's plan is to do whatever he can to help Chisomo climb up, on the hopes that she can whup enough butt up there on the missile throwers that the DC will reduce to the normal rope with a wall to brace against (ie. the ships hull) of DC 5 ... Thus I am holding off until Chisomo acts.
@ DM Meleager, is there anything I can do to distract the vegetable throwers? (I am assuming I am not allowed my crossbow for counterfire in this little exercise.) Perhaps a bluff check to shout insults to distract them?

DM Meleager |

I'll allow a feint attempt that would give them a penalty to their attack rolls.
@Randall. I know I said to do all the Climb checks, but you can stop if you splash the first time. Things will get reset. And yeah, there will be multiple attempts, but after the others get to it. I'll wait for Torin to do his rolls before posting for your group.

Randall McNally |

Torin, we can't 'Take 10' on these rolls due to being "under attack" from those throwing the garbage at us.

Torin Brimfisher |

This is what I get for not juicing Torin's diplomacy modifier when I remade him.

I totally did!
The one tiny problem is that converting Syl to the demonlord of backstabbing could well, succeed catastrophically :).

Lucille de Avrois |

I much prefer wis 8, you can do all the antics, all the dumb bluffs that should never possibly work, and if you are a CHA 18 crazy person they may even work!

Randall McNally |

Sorry, Chisomo. Redheads are my Kryptonite in RL as well.

Lucille de Avrois |

Sandara an Randall find the spot occupied, Lucille doesnt miss a beat and offers inclusive languange training!

Agreed! Goblin is my favorite Ancestry in PF2e...lol.
I have a wizard, Gunslinger, bard and almost Alchemist, but went Grippli instead.

Removed a post describing a character's actions due to a problematic term used in the description.
Lucille de Arvois
To mechanically explain: Lucille is trying to joink the not-useless looking members of Scourges group, she is probably the best manipulator in the group currently.
Syl and Maheem look like the 2 ones that dont seem [redacted]. Maybe Narwale is of use too. Fibbs destiny is to be Chisomos punching bag, anyone sleeping iwth scourge like Bansion is obviously desperate, not even his own grouping likes Jape so :).

Randall McNally |

Wow, the first time I've seen the hammer drop in a PbP.

Randall McNally |

I read that post and I can't remember anything popping out at me as inappropriate.

Randall McNally |

Everyone, I've updated the tokens on the Wormwood map on Roll20. Each NPC's token color now indicates they're current attitude. I've based it in a ROYGBIV scale.
Red=Hostile
Orange=Unfriendly
Yellow=Indifferent (thanks to the recent attitude adjustments no one is currently indifferent).
Green=Friendly
Blue=Helpful
Black=Ship's officer (therefore un-influenceable)
I hope this helps.

Question about Barroom Talespinner.
You gain a +1 trait bonus on Diplomacy checks and one category of Perform checks, and one of these skills is a class skill for you. In addition, once per week you can make a DC 15 Knowledge (local) or Intelligence check to see if you know a popular legendary pirate tale, the telling of which grants you a +1 trait bonus on checks made to influence NPCs on the ship.
Is this bonus good for the week or just for a day?

Lucille de Avrois |

I think we are waiting on Chisomos night action?
The overall strategy of leaving hard targets to me and Randall, and having the rest of the crew chat up people who are already friendly to us is sound.
Other question:
--Lucille would volunteer to hold the first "night guard", to make sure noone gets stabbed while sleeping, she could also hold the last, but needs some time to recover spells.
--I think that we should be on guard for nightly throat cuttings. Like, if Lucille was in Plugg's or scourge's shoes, she would try to sleep CDG Lucille and frame Syl, putting it as a lovers quarrel and "killing two birds with one stone".

Torin Brimfisher |

I think PCs need to get together in character to make the out of character stuff come together myself.

Djir Bentwhisker |

Djir is probably looking forward to level 2 more then anyone else on this ship!
I guarantee you I'm putting a point in swim and a point in climb...

Randall McNally |

Randall picks up a familiar at 2nd level, if he survives.

Lucille de Avrois |

My level 2 is pretty boring, Torin and myself will greatly enjoy enlarge person, which I am picking up as a mystery spell, though. My level 3 will be a dip in fractured mind (mage armor and shield, also more cantrips and pretty good saves), resulting in a shadowy phantom friend that will tank a bit for us (and also supercharge my bluff and diplomacy even further).
Also seems like 2 people will have familiars, I will have a shadowy BFF.
The bad thing about the diversion? Ill get level 2 spells at character level 5 :).
@GM: Are the newcomers (meaning Lucille, Randall and Torin) aware of the "no killing" law?

Randall McNally |

I don't see a link to the Google slides you mentioned. However I do have a map of the Wormwood on the Roll20 site, complete with tokens for everyone of the crew.

Lucille de Avrois |

Lucille is probably on the middle deck (which is where fishguts usually is), any odds she is hearing something?
Also, player knowledge: the joys of low level combat in pathfinder without equipment!

Just to prove I'm still here...
@ Chisomo, if you kill both of them (especially if you finish them with their own knives), and just stabilize Randall and leave them to be found, he can (truthfully) testify they attacked him (to kill) saying "Mister Plugg sends his regards...", and has no idea what happened after he fell unconscious from his wounds.

Lucille de Avrois |

Lucille would have some options if she gets involved. Murderous command on Jape to be specific, and obviously heal Randall. She is not particularly stealthy though.
Chisomo does not neccessarily know that nobody saw her move down, and possible NPCs may also be rolling perception checks.
I am not sure if "truthfully testifying" matters much, the vesell is chaotic evil in essence.
It is a cool idea though.

Torin Brimfisher |

I've played part of this AP before, so I am familiar with the rule. Torin already being a pirate is likely to know normal ship's rules as well. Enlarge person does sound pretty cool. I saw monk's damage potential being mentioned and couldn't help thinking about my favorite flavor of monk. The dragon style monk! Increased strength multiplier on attacks and a high strength stat makes for an interesting spin on monk as well.

Lucille de Avrois |

Note, raw, iirc you dead after 3 turns with your face immersed in water while unconcious.
Monk talks:
Do you know what style you are going for? Crane is never wrong, dragon is good offensively, two styles, Diabolic and swift iron style is great on a bloodrager but garbage on a monk, Demon style is highy situational and also a massive feat chain.
