    My scenario came through today.

    Hey folks, we're getting close to the starting line! The official launch is midnight UTC on September 11th, which translates to 4pm Paizo time (AKA US Pacific time). I'll do my best to post the first House GM block as close to that time as I can.

    In the leadup to launch, feel free to post the Table GM box text under the "Introduction" section on page 4, do character intros, etc. Please do not call for any dice rolls or move beyond that point until I post the first House GM text at launch.

    I've got a family holiday from the 2nd until the 10th. I'm not likely to have reliable connectivity for that week. Do we have a backup GM who can run my table for the last bit of part I?

    Here's a backup calendar (I'll link it above as well). Steps to use:

    1. Post the days you need a backup (as Aerondor and Valen just did)
    2. Wait for one of our backups to confirm they will cover you.
    3. Mark your name in that backup's column on the calendar for the dates they are covering for you.

    Correction, midnight UTC is 5pm Pacific time, not 4pm.

    I have a likely drop from my 5-6 table. Do we have anyone waitlisted in that tier?


    4-99 MAPS:

    Should we indicate a skill checks diffiultly level? Easy vs average vs hard. Not tell the DC just the relative difficulty.

    We don't have anyone waitlisted for any tiers (and had a potential third 5-6 table that got no signups).

    I provided the DC, mostly so that if they succeed they know and can move on to the next phase. Given this is PBP and we have time pressure I thought that was reasonable, but happy to stop if we'd prefer to play it another way.

    I've also been giving the exact DC, for the same reason as Aerondor. It keeps things moving. I think listing Easy, Medium, Hard is fine, though.

    Hey folks, just a reminder to make sure you're reporting your successes. We're less than 48 hours from the end of Part 1, and getting close to a condition marker, but are a long way from several others.

    I'm off in 20 hours or so.

    Characters are just finishing up encounter D: The Wastes (build mission 3: Transport materials)

    They should be just about ready to get out of dodge, as they have finished the loading, but still being attacked by the Mantas.

    Biggest thing at the moment is that a number of characters have Dust Manta poison coursing through their veins and will need to make more saves before turning to dust.

    Dust Mantra toxin is unhelpfully not in the scenario, so to make life easy for you, I'll include it here:

    DUST MANTA TOXIN
    Type poison (injury); Save Fortitude DC 14
    Track Strength; Frequency 1/round for 6 rounds
    Effect At the dead state, the victim’s body disintegrates into dust. A creature that dies as a result of dust manta toxin can only be brought back to life by spells such as miracle, wish, or another similarly powerful effect.

    What do GMs think about allowing PCs to Take 10 for skills checks during Build Mission 1: Improve the Camp?

    One the one hand, it seems clear that the PCs "are not in immediate danger or distracted" and that some of the tasks could even be considered "routine", which would suggest that Taking 10 makes sense.

    However, "taking 10 is almost never an option for a check that requires some sort of crucial effect as a key part of the adventure’s story" and one could argue a build mission is a "key part of the adventure's story".

    Given that the rolls in that mission directly leads to reporting a Build Success, which has ramifications both in Part 2 and in Part 3 of this adventure, I think it's reasonable to say they are a 'key part of the adventure's story'. That said, do whatever feels right for your table.

    That's correct. The first update will go out in roughly 6-7 hours. Given that no one has reported any successes yet, I expect they will all be at yellow.

    Do thoqquas (or other elementals) need to breath?

    A PC just tossed a smoke grenade at the creatures, but I am thinking it will otherwise have no effect (blindsense takes care of obscured vision).

    Breath-effects are not included among the elemental immunities.

    The Starfinderwiki, often helpful, states that elementals "do not breathe, eat or sleep", but looking up the cited pages 46 & 47 of Alien Archive does not produce a statement of confirmation.

    The rules discussion on the forums about the topic seems unresolved.

    I would lean toward saying that they aren't immune to something unless the AA or their statblock says they are. Starfinderwiki is not a rules source.

    That said, it's definitely a reasonable question, and you should feel free to rule it however you think makes the most sense at your table.

    Part 3, mission 3. Is it only one PC per round for the Social roll? Or they can use Aid another.

    I don't have a problem with it either way, as long as there is only one primary roll per round. Do whatever you think is best for your table.
