Stersk attacks the hag with a flurry of slashes and gunfire, but she easily avoids the attacks, knocking the gun aside as he tries to shoot her.

Samna, on the other hand, shows everyone how deadly the starknife is as she carves up the red doll. Her last toss severs the head neatly from the body and it falls limp.

Actually, because I am a laughing shadow magus, my speed is increased by 5ft. per round while in arcane cascade, so I can run around without provoking from the hag (see the lines I drew)

Kondai flanks the doll and delivers a powerful flaming punch to it, which nearly obliterates it in one blow. Before it can even begin burning, Qigiq follows up with lightning. It shatters the doll completely and even the hag isn't able to avoid it.

Enraged that her soulbound dolls have been destroyed, the hag lashes out at Kondai, slashing him to ribbons in two vicious swipes. The second slashes him across the throat at the space-man begins to bleed out. At first it looks like she will rip Kondai in half, but then turns her attention to Alaric, who is keeping her burning. She slashes at him with her long claws, but they are barely stopped by his armor.

The flames continue to burn her skin, making a horrible smell fill the air.

Stersk, the dolls are all dead, so I'm redirecting your nat 20 to the hag. Unfortunately, the result would normally be a miss (even flanked), so it only increases it to a hit, not a crit.

Stersk attacks with gunpowder and sword again. The hag avoids the first attempts at both, but the dwarf is able to catch her on a backswing with the borrowed katana. Instead of cutting into flesh, it feels like he's trying to cut iron pipe.

The hag hisses at blind dwarf's attack and turns her attention to him. With two quick swipes of her deadly claws, she brings down the dwarf and then circles around the group to keep them from surrounding her.

The flames on the hag's skin sputter out, leaving it charred and blistered.

The dwarf struggles to his feet and grabs his gun. He aims and pulls the trigger. A roar of a shot goes off and the back of the hag's head explodes like an overripe pumpkin. The monstrous creature looks at the dwarf, which she had just brought down, in shock. Then she collapse in a heap.

As you stare at the fallen body of the hag, suddenly the scarf begins to glow with a warm light. Suddenly a small creature seemingly climbs out of the scarf and stands, stretching. It is a small humanoid shape with moss-like skin and wearing a conical shaped hat. It looks towards you and bows, speaking in Tien, though your translator helps you understand. "Oh, wow! It's so good to be able to stretch out! Thank you for freeing me. That creature was using its power to keep me contained even when I was so close to my home grove."

The creature turns around to admire the surrounding wood. "It's wonderful to be home again! I haven't seen this in so long! And the usurpers who have been here are gone too, thanks to you." It nods and turns back to you. "Please feel free to take the relic, though it's just a normal relic now. And you are forever welcome in my grove and the Forest of the Spirits!"

Alaric bows. "Thank you spirits." He gingerly steps around the forest not wanting to anger it an further. He can speak with devils all day but ghosts and spirits scare the crap out of him.

Fran's jaw drops and her eyes widen at what she's seeing. Realizing that she's staring, she quickly recovers and bows to the creature.

Stersk stand still for a few moments after the gun fires off, it sounded like a solid shot and hit, but the sudden lack of cries and toppling sound, along with the splatter of something liquid suggests that maybe, just maybe, he blew her head off? "Oi! Someone with proper, working eyes, Di I just blow off her head? I knew I wasn't too old to be doing this adventuring stuff! The dread mercenary Moltengaze is BACK!" He gives a cheer and a hearty chuckle before realizing everyone's attention is elsewhere and he nearly walked into a tree in his swagger.

The spirit focuses on Fran and motions to the scarf. "I was held in the relic originally. The hag only sensed my return and began ritual magic to try and steal my power. If she got her hands on the scarf, she would have been able to siphon enough of my spirit to fuel herself and become even more fearsome. But you stopped her permanently." It glances towards the dead hag.

"But now I will return home. Oh, you needed worry about the thief anymore either. He's long gone." The spirit bows to you and then dissipates, swirling around the wind and the grove.

Returning to the caravan, you are greeted by Lin Po and Ti Lan again. "You did it! Thank goodness. Now we can finish our journey and get back to Minkai." You climb aboard the caravan and travel with them the rest of the way back to the city where Amara Li waits.

She is relieved to see everyone returning safely, including Lin Po and Ti
Lan. She listens keenly to the tale of their exploits in the Forest of Spirits, fascinated that the relic housed a trapped kami all this time and that neither she nor her benefactor had any idea. She begrudgingly admits to Kondai that he seemed to have been right about the relics.
