Right. I had forgotten.
Kondai's kick sails over the head of the short gremlin, but he is able to bring up a defensive shield.
The gremlin Fran skewered scrabbles towards her with a shriek. She easily realizes the cry is just an attempt to get her to react, and easily bats away the real attack. The one in close quarters with Kondai shrieks at him as well and he falls for the tactic. Luckily, his magical shield protects him at first as the shortsword skitters across the pale energy. But then the gremlin realizes its presence and manages to nick him around it.

Stersk blasts the doll at point blank range in an explosion of smoke and fire. Then the smoke clears and the doll is still standing albeit very shattered. His cane strike then slams into the doll, finally shattering it completely.
As Qigiq enhances Fran's weapon, the dolls retaliate. The one near Alaric tries to slam its little hands into his legs and then begins to suck the life out of him. As it does so, you see the scorch marks fade from its porcelain skin, though the fire continues to burn it. The other doll closes with the blind dwarf and tries to do the same, pulling his life force out.

The party regroups after the nasty onslaught. Fran is able to stab the gremlin, and Stersk blasts away at the doll, but this time he only nicks it. The dwarf does prepare a nasty blow with his cane, but he just slams it down on empty air.
The dolls try to pummel both Alaric and Stersk. Alaric gets his shield up and blocks the tiny fists. Stersk takes a shot to the knee, but he's able to fend off the rest.

Moments afterward, Jak comes running up to you. "Oh, thank goodness you were able to stop them. They could have hurt many in our village." Shirota joins them. "Yes. We owe you a debt of gratitude. I will have the inn set up rooms for you so you may rest after that ordeal." Several other villagers come up to thank and congratulate you as well.

Shirota nods. "If you must, then you must. I understand. Your friends are out there." He hands Alaric a small satchel. Glass clinks lightly inside. "Please take these as a gift. They will help you honor the animals of the forest."
3 Moderate Bestial Mutagens
Jak shows you the lesser used path to the east which the caravan was so eager to take, and then he wishes you well.
Along the journey, the road branches off several times, typically only for a short distance before rejoining the main road or reaching a dead end. The seemingly endless rows of conifer trees create a serene yet monotonous backdrop.
The patch is choked with snowdrifts, making it too narrow for a wagon to traverse easily. The wagon regularly catches on roots or stalls in the snow. Overall, these impediments slow the wagon to a crawl.
After a few hours, you see the shape of a figure outlined in the snow coming slowly towards you. You can easily avoid it if you wish.
Remember you have a +2 to all Recall Knowledge rolls

Qigiq steps forward and kneels down in the snow. "Do you wish to speak with us, spirit of nature?" he asks, offering a hand toward the approaching kami.

The spirit reaches out to Qigiq and he feels a cool sensation. Goosebumps stand out on his skin and he gets a sense of a protective and wary individual. Qigiq begins to see flashes of memory from the kami. I'm going to assume you share this.
He is moving through the forest when he spots a caravan. The kami is wary of newcomers and hides near some trees. Suddenly the caravan is attacked by a trio of eight-legged feline creatures. They seemingly emerged from almost nowhere. You get a good look at one of the caravan defenders, an athletic woman with broad shoulders, matching the description of Ti Lan.
As the people in the caravan try to fight off the creatures, you spot a humanoid with a fox head and tail sneaking into the back of one of the caravan wagons. Moments later, they emerge with a sack and a green scarf wrapped around their neck. The fox-creature turns with a mocking smile and waves at the guards before it disappears into the forest.
A flash of light returns Qigiq to his own senses and he sees the kami floating in front of him. He watches it bob for a moment before it begins to float away.
Qigiq for the rest of the scenario, you gain a +1 to hit enemies with cover, but you also must make a DC 5 check at the beginning of any encounter or be Frightened 1 on the first round.
Society check to recognize the thief; Arcana or Nature checks to recognize the attackers. Remember you have a +2 to Recall Knowledge, but it's also tougher for everyone but Qigiq and you're doing it with secondhand information.
